(Yesssss I want to hear it :3
I think the rivalry will work well, cause I can only imagine Sherlock forcing the hat to put him in Gryffindor so he's with John but he won't know where John definitely will be cause John is after him in the alphabet. And they'll have loads of time - they have like four classes not together (herbology, history of magic, flying and astronomy) which are the ones with the least periods. Also different houses mean we can keep the sneaking out every night and making a kind of secret base plan xD)

Sherlock was listening even less than John was, spending his time glancing at their fellow first years and mentally sorting them into houses. He spotted Molly almost immediately, who he of course already knew through their parents being friends. There was no chance that they would be sorted into the same house. Thankfully. She was a bit clingy and he didn't really like her. She wasn't interesting. Really none of this bunch were interesting. Some looked like they would be annoying, nuisances, but none were interesting. Well they weren't as interesting as John. But Sherlock didn't know anyone else as interesting as John. He glanced to the side, smiling at his friend. He could tell how excited John was and it was rubbing off on Sherlock.
"Want to go in a boat together?" Sherlock asked in quiet whisper as everyone started pairing off and heading towards were the boats waited. He could see Molly searching for him and really really didn't want to go with her. He wanted to go with John.

(Um, well, maybe John gets yelled at by his parents? Like, he tells them that he's not straight. And they literally yell at him and tell him 'it's just a phase' and 'it's wrong' and stuffz. And like, that's over Christmas break, and he comes back to Hogwarts, and he's all depressed and stuff, and tells Sherlock what happened, and Sherlock's really nice to him, even nicer than he usually is, and even gives him a hug. But he gets a bit mad, because John says that maybe it is just a phase and he should try to get over it' and jokes about how he used to be this parents perfect child, because his sister had been such a failure to them. But Sherlock says 'your perfect to me, and that's all that matters' and even though it's egotistical, John still laughs and they kiss or something. xD i don't know. it's hard to explain what I'm thinking of. x3 it's just an idea. it seems weird now that I wrote it down. >.<
Um, so are we going to rp everything, like everyday????or can we skip to like, interesting things that happen?? :3 it's up to you~ but it might be easy to get bored if we rp every day... just saying. x3)

John rolled his eyes. "Of course." He said, and smiled mischievously. "Really, Sherlock? I thought you were supposed to be great at... observing or whatever." He grumbled good-naturedly, and led the way over to a one of the boats waiting by the shore. He looked back to Sherlock for a moment, and got in the boat nervously, like he was expecting it to all of a sudden flip over. He settled himself, looking down at ominous pitch-black water, and then back up at his friend. "Coming?" He asked, still looking nervous, as the boat rocked just a little with every wave. He was tempted to get out and just find a way to walk to the castle - he didn't know how to swim, to be honest. He'd be screwed if the boat suddenly flipped. He just hoped that if there were more people in the boat with them, they wouldn't try to rock it.

(I think that sounds like a really awesome idea! Seriously :) We should do that
Nah, not everything everyday that would be stupid xP Interesting things, interesting things. Like we do the sorting ceremony and them just going to their dorms then skip to the next day and maybe do their first class (which is Transfiguration) were they are together and go from there :3
Also sorry for not replying - I've been a bit busy)

"Great," Sherlock grinned. "And I am great at observing, what was I meant to observe?" He tilted his head, looking slightly confused. What did John mean. Though he wouldn't admit it, there were certain things about Sherlock was oblivious to. And there were other things that he just didn't understand. "Yes, I am coming." He carefully stepped into the boat, settling across from John. He glanced at the dark water with an arched eyebrow. "I wonder if there are any mermaids in the water..." he murmured as an offhand comment before looking at John. "And I hope nobody else gets in the bo-"
"Wait, Sherlock, can I come in the boat with you!" A small, brown haired girl had approached their boat, looking both nervously and adoringly at Sherlock.
"Can't you run off to go with someone else, Molly," Sherlock sighed. Molly, the girl, looked quite upset by that.

John looked up at Sherlock with a little frown. "Sherlock. Be nice." He scolded lightly, though he did actually look stern. "She can ride with us if she wants to."
He wasn't quite sure if he actually just didn't like this girl - she seemed perfectly nice to him, so he didn't really know why - or if Sherlock just wanted to spend time with John. Which he was sure they could do plenty of when they were in the castle. He smiled up at her, holding a hand out. "i'm John Watson. It's nice to meet you." He said cheerfully, looking curious, really. He'd love to learn more about the friends... well, Sherlock had said he didn't have any friends. Well, except John now, apparently. But the people he'd been around since he was young. Perhaps he could get some embarrassing stories, too, which was a nice thought, and good bribing material. John would love to have something to tease Sherlock over - just friendly, of course, not meanly.

(alright, that sounds good! :D
That's fine, don't worry about it. x3)

Um, I have another idea. :3 I'm going to type it down or else il lforget, so sorry for the double post. x3
Anyway, I was thinking that this could be kind of a part of the lead up to when they get into a relationship??
So it's night time and they're in they little base, maybe in the forbidden forest or something. And it's dark out. And John's having trouble with a spell and getting the hand movements right. So Sherlock comes up behind him and wraps his hand around John's, and leads him through it which ends up with them casting the spell together. And maybe it's the patronus charm? So it lights them up and kind of runs around them.
I don't know what his patronus should be, though. xD Maybe a hedgehog, or a dog(because he's really loyal)? Like, a Golden Retriever or something?
But it's just an idea. :3)

"But Jooohn," Sherlock pouted, trying to give John the puppy dogs eyes. It didn't seem to be working, though, so he reverted to a grumpy pout. Soon John would regret allowing Molly onto their boat. His and John's! Not hers.
Molly stepped onto the boat carefully, smiling warmly at John. "Molly Hooper," she shook his hand. "It is nice to meet you as well." She sat down, tilting her head and looking at John with deep brown eyes. "How did you meet Sherlock?" She looked genuinely curious. She had expected to find Sherlock in a boat on his own. He'd never really gotten on with people. Molly adored him, she really did, but he had always brushed her off. It hurt but she kept trying. She understood that he just wasn't a good people person.
Sherlock had brought his knees up to his chest, looking out at the water and now in quite a royal huff. He didn't like Molly monopolising John's time.

(That's a really good idea! I need to start thinking some up xD You keep coming up with them all... And I think some kind of dog might be cool - and golden retrievers are known for being loyal I think :3 Sherlock's will probably be a fox, or maybe an otter)

(Yeah, I was thinking hedgehog for a bit? xD But than I though something like a Golden Retriever would fit John's personality way better. :3)

John chuckled. "I just met him on the train." He looked over to his friend, with a little roll of his eyes. "For a genius, Sherlock, you sure act like quite the little kid." He said, with a little smile. He poked him lightly, scooting over closer, and looking down at the water with him, a curious gleam in his eyes. "What are you even looking at?" He whispered quietly, just so Sherlock could hear. "I don't see anything. Looking for mermaids?" He said teasingly, poking his side again. He didn't want him to be all huffed about something so silly. He hoped he hadn't actually made Sherlock mad... That thought gave him quite the little nervous shiver. He'd really like to have Mycroft, Lestrade, and of course especially Sherlock as his friends. He had a feeling it would make a lot of things much easier for him in the long run. Not to mention they were all really nice and interesting, and he hated to think that he'd screwed it all up just by being kind to someone.

(Yeah, I think a golden retriever... And I think I will go for a fox for Sherlock. I don't even know why, I just kinda think it suits him xD)

"Really," Molly arched an eyebrow, looking curious. John really must have a left an impression on Sherlock, then, if they had only just met. Molly was glad, though. Sherlock needed a friend.
"I am not acting like a little kid!" Sherlock exclaimed with a huff, though he couldn't help but return John's smile. "I was just looking into the water to see if there is anything there. I mean I'm sure there is something there and it would be interesting to see if any of the creatures had the confidence to come up close to the surface with so many boats," he replied quietly with a shrug, face serious. "Do not joke about mermaids, John. I am sure this is safe enough but I would rather not be caught unaware by one of them." Even saying this he didn't seem to mind John teasing him, smiling at his friend. It seemed it hadn't taken much to bring Sherlock out of his mood, just John paying attention to him. Because that was all he had really wanted and why he had gotten annoyed. He wanted John all to himself. And there had been a nagging worry deep down that John would decide he didn't want to be Sherlock's friend.
Though he hadn't realised it at first Sherlock noticed that the boat had began to move, along with the others, towards the school.

John laughed, and then turned away from the water as they started to move. He didn't really like being in boats - he disliked it even more, when they were at a magical school, and apparently there were monsters or something nearby. He gave a noticeable shiver, but he still maintained his bright smile. "It will definitely be interesting to see what houses we're in. Don't know much about them still, though Sherlock explained a bit." He looked thoughtful. "I just don't want to be stuck with bullies, so that one house you were talking about... Slytherin or something, I definitely wouldn't want to have anything to do with any of them." He looked completely certain of his words, nodding slightly. He hesitated, because what if Sherlock was put in Slytherin? Well, obviously I'd still be friends with him, he's perfectly fine. He thought, confidently.

(sorry this is short. >.<
But I totally agree with the fox! That is definitely Sherlock. :3)

"Don't worry, John, the boats are surely sturdy and I doubt anything will approach in the water," Sherlock had noticed his friend's worry quite easily, sharp gaze picking up more than just the shiver. "And I can swim, anyway. I'm strong enough to support someone else." He smiled with a nod, cautiously putting a comforting hand of his friend's shoulder. "It will certainly be interesting. And you do not have to worry about being put into Slytherin, that is highly unlikely. You do not have their traits. Although they are not all bullies there. You will most likely be a Gryffindor or a Hufflepuff. Molly will be a Gryffindor or a Hufflepuff as well. And anyway you do get some say in it, I believe, so if you really want to be in a house you can say. Like the hat will try to put me into Ravenclaw but I really don't want to be in the same house as my brother." He made a face, shrugging.
Molly smiled slightly. "I agree with John on the Slytherin bit."

John smiled over to Sherlock, and really it was much more innocent then it should have been, and he kind of cursed himself for that. He listened to Sherlock speak, and looked over to him. "Well, maybe we'll be put in Gryffindor together." He said, looking a little hopeful again, and he tried to inch himself away from the edge of the boat as far as he could. Sherlock's words had definitely calmed him, and he wasn't sure why, but they just had. It was kind of funny how quickly he was able to trust his new friend. John couldn't swim, sadly, he'd never had a reason to learn how and he had never wanted to learn how. He just... couldn't. And he sincerely hoped what Sherlock said was true, or else he wouldn't need a monster to help him along if the boat tipped - he'd just sink to the bottom and drown. The thought made him shiver again, and he would always say to his last breath that it was just the cold, not fear.

(So I'm going to Ireland for a long weekend tomorrow - I'm bringing my laptop and should hopefully have internet but if not I'll be back on Monday)

"Yeah, maybe we will," Sherlock replied quietly. It was obvious by his tone that he doubted it. He wasn't really a Gryffindor, he didn't think. Maybe he should try to get into Gryffindor. He wasn't sure. John still might be put into Hufflepuff and he didn't want to be in Gryffindor if John wasn't in it. It was a hard decision that he had to make and he wasn't really looking forward to the sorting ceremony, unlike everyone. He glanced over at John, slightly concerned. He had worked out a bit ago that John was scared of drowning but hoped what he had said helped. Sherlock was a pretty good swimmer, so he should be able to support John, and the other boats weren't exactly far away. "I think we're almost there, which is good. Then we'll be able to get out of the boat."

(Sorry its short, not got much time tonight)
