Nicky stepped up to the mic and began to address the crowd. There were quite a bit more people than she expected to be standing in front of her that night but she was ready for it and raring to go. She was never someone who would get stage fright, in fact she thrived on the excitement of the crowd and she always wanted them to be loud and entertained. "Alright, thank you all for coming out." She said with a big grin on her face. "We are Out of Thin Air and we hope you came here with high expectations because we're about to blow your goddamn mind." Never did anyone say Nicky was the most modest person in any situation. She nodded to the band in order to tell them to start with the first song before starting to sing.

Her vocals weren't the greatest in the world but she injected a lot of emotion into her singing. To be fair her two earlier works were a queercore punk band and a crust punk outfit that lasted two weeks so this was easily the most vocally demanding project she had ever been in, but she could hold her own and could carry a tune pretty damn well.

KJ could feel the energy in the room lift to another level as the band started off. Nicky set the tone by gauging the temperature of the audience. Once she told them what th band was gonna do the room let out a collective roar. That set the tone right there that this was going to be one of those shows where there was lot of give and take with the crowd, and that there was going to be a lot of knowing looks and smiles amongst the band as well. It was shows like these where how much they got paid wasn't the main factor, but it served to rekindle why this band did what they did. For their love of their music and for each other. This club wasn't the biggest venue that they had ever played in, but with the energy in the room and the energy from one another KJ felt like they were about to rock MSG.

As the song started up KJ from the first note could tell that this show was gonna be the stuff of legend. He looked out at the crowd and a couple of people pointed at him. KJ quickly pointed back and smiled. He never expected anything or asked for anything back from the crow, except for one thing. That they enjoyed themselves. KJ loved watching a crowd just forget their problems and worries for a while and jsut having fun. That give and take made everything worth while.

Drake jumped up and down before hitting his light pedal to turn the stage lights on as he went into the opening chords. His fingers glided along the smooth neck playing his heart out every second. He always had a bottle of water sitting on his amp. It was always there just in case he got light headed. He got on his knees at the front of the stage so fans could touch the guitar. He was happy seeing all the people in crowd both fans and new comers.

The whole stage was alive and full of energy, except for Jame's little desk. His body was near motionless, as his hands flew over his keyboard and his eyes darted back and forth between his screen and his synthesizer. For now he played a little melody harmonizing with the lead guitar, and added the occasional percussion hit to the beat. Nothing too fancy, their opener was usually one of their more straight-forward, rock style songs. It worked well for getting a crowd hyped up, but it didn't do the same for him. On a good night, they'd be able to hook the audience in with music like this and gradually venture further from the mainstream, eventually reaching a triumphant conclusion far removed from where they had started.

In between glancing at the screen, James was able to see the crowd. They were quite numerous and deeply into the music, the energy could be felt by anyone in the room. He knew he could never draw a crowd like this on his own, but that wasn't why he was in this band. To James, the band was not a pathway to stardom or wealth, but an opportunity to collaborate with talented musicians. The members he enjoyed collaborating the most with were Drake, because of his formidable soloing skills, and the two violinists, each of which brought skills rarely seen in rock music. Ana could contribute too, and even though James didn't like many of KJ's musical ideas, his amicability made up for it. The only bandmate that he had problems with was Nicky, but so far they had managed to avoid serious conflicts.
