POST-APOCALYPSE IDEA

I was thinking of doing a post apocalyptic-themed RPG in which the characters would struggle to survive after most of society was killed in a nuclear war. Some people would try to make a living as a bandit, killing others to survive and some would group up and do this. There are no laws, no morals, and no time-outs. Just full-on fight to survive in a world with little left. Additionally, I was thinking the animals could have mutated in dangerous ways and they further threaten survival but what do guys think of the idea so far? What do you think of the humans possibly mutating in ways?

Humans mutating, are you talking about extra limbs, or special powers?

I was thinking something along the line of special powers or maybe special features such as growing wings or something. I think it could be interesting but I don't want to go over the top. I don't want people just spawning fire and burning someone they feel threatened by. I was thinking more of enhancements.

I'm interested as well. I think something in-between when it comes to mutation, where in certain abilities (which aren't over the top) cause certain deformities.i.e. a person having night vision might have some ocular mutation, something like larger eye sockets and weird looking eyes.

Thanks for your interest. ! The deformity idea is interesting. I'm leaning towards more realistic mutations such as one that a creature has had before that a mess-up in the gene code could actually cause such as enhanced hearing, sight, or like you said night vision. There could also be people who are enhanced to be physically stronger or faster maybe but nothing like the Hulk or anything.

A sort of regressive mutation? Sounds good :) Scientifically speaking, mutation of such sorts only happen after great span of time. From what I read, rapid and/or accelerated mutations (like from a nuclear cause) are simply deformities without any function. So the rp can be set decades after the nuclear-event with both humans and "dehumans" are present.

Oh, I just notices. Dehumanize seems like a good title for the rp if we're following the mutation line.

That sounds good but then again who knows what could happen if there was a worldwide nuclear battle. With all those chemicals around I'm sure things scientists wouldn't be able to predict could happen.
