I agree with this. I mean, Hellis and I are playing blind siblings. That could be cliché. It is all about the spin you put on it and the way you play your character.

I was thinking this should be the reason for my character to undergo the procedure, but I can't think of a skillset other than maybe someone who's a talented marksman, idk why but those ideas sounded really...cliche to me I guess. What do any of you think?


I think this could definitely work. Quicker reflexes or vision or both. I think it is always more important to create a playable character and a marksman would definitely be a helpful addition to the group. :D

I think I can have my character posted by the end of the day, but I still need to bat around some ideas for history with Hellis so it wont be entirely completed.

I am going to make a former investigative journalist/self-proclaimed vox populi), whose main addition to the team will be perfect memory (with all its drawbacks) and ability to withstand a mixture of painkillers/adrenals that would kill a normal man. Am I stepping on someone toes?

Not at all for me.

I was also thinking someone could have some UV augmentation. Good for fighting vampires and lighting scawwy alley ways.

OR someone with a mathematical analysis for warfare that would allow forsight into battles based on mathematical systems. (Lewis Fry Richardson)

Alright, I posted that character. This should give you a feel for how extensive the mods really are.

Also, the characters are probably much heavier than normal humans because they've got metal and vat grown muscle in there.

The third thing is weapons and equipment -- the cybernetics are prototypes (as of right now, cybernetic hearing and vision are doable, and they've just made the first leap in neural-control of a prosthetic limb) and so are the weapons. If I have to push the years out to like 2036 or something, I can do that to make it viable.

Considering how similar my character is to some others, I'm thinking that it might be a good idea for me to rewrite mine to focus more on her telekinesis. So, consider mine a WIP at the moment as well.

Okay, so I updated my character to be more of an infiltrator, as we don't have one of those yet. What I mean by infiltrator is that she is the one who walks right by the guards because she can act like she belongs there to fool them. She doesn't do the breaking and entering thing, and I thought that was sufficient enough to make her different. :3 It also allowed me to focus a little more on her telekinesis as her combat instead of actual training/weaponry.

Sounds like a plan. Telekinesis is a thing that is sure to freak the vampires out at least as much as the whole 'kill teams that have the capability to take out vampires.'

Prior to Aspida, mortals got lucky the way a zebra might get lucky and slash a lion with a hoof and the lion dies from the infection later. Even modern firepower hasn't really evened up the odds much, because the gun is only as good as the shooter.

Probably. The average vampire is unbelievably fast and strong. Arms alone won't cut it, and those arms need to be anchored to something reinforced anyway. At the very least, we're talking muscle enhancement via grafting and bone lacing if you're going to have replacement limbs, simply to support the strain of operating those limbs -- the rest of the body needs to be able to withstand using said limbs.

Apart from that, M4's are current issue in 2014, but Aspida tends to use the next-gen stuff. It's probably working out the final kinks on some sort of usable laser weapon for use as a mounted weapon on a vehicle and some sort of magnetic rail weapon at the time of the RP. For certain, weaponry is definitely on a leap forward in this timeline -- in the case of Aspida agents, they're also probably looking at stuff they can easily conceal or use to saturate the area with firepower.

Also, we're lacking someone that does heavy weapons or is so heavily augmented that they are no longer able to pass for human -- in short, a tank. This would be the guy that can throw the vampires around and use one as a club on others. There are other possibilities as well, such as a drone pilot-controller type and an investigative specialist that knows how to follow the trails and track the quarry. (Such as Deckard from Blade Runner, who hunted down replicants. In short, a detective type of hunter.)

Just a thought going in.

Also, JonxlatheLion, I am not opposed to a fully robotic character, but I'd like to see some sort of connection to Aspida or some sort of justification as to how he acquired programming that gives him a thorough knowledge of vampires.

ok I added some enhancements and made his armament a little more fearsome remember he was a soldier before aspida so he prefers tried and true technology to the new stuff.
