His ears perked up happily at the compliment, "Thank you, it is a point of pride for us." He hesitated a moment, but took her hand. It was a gesture he had seen, though he wasn't sure why it was done. Perhaps they felt something in each other's hands.

"I would join you in exploring, I'm sure there will be no trouble. No further trouble, I should say." He walked to the last bed. It was about two feet off center of one of the few windows, so he pushed it across the floor so that the stars would shine on him as he slept. He lay his staff in the bed, the light coming through the windows played on the crystal at the top, throwing star signs across the room.

"The stars are out, there's no better time for exploring. Let us go."

"Glad to see you want to come with us" Asthia said, letting go of his hand. After brushing off a few pieces of his fur, she noticed the starlight coming from the crystal. "Is that a magical staff, or does the light just go naturally through the crystal like that? Either way, it's beautiful."

After a long moment of silence, Zmerr poured himself another cup of tea and offered to fill Pyria's. "I suppose it's a good thing to have a lot of students. Though, I kind of have been wondering why their stipulations have seemed to slacken. A lot more students from a lot more backgrounds. It's a curious occurrence. I trust Archmagister Cadmus knows what he's doing. It just peaks my curiosity. So many abnormal things happening at once. It's likely that it is all coincidence, but there's also a slight chance it is not.... No offense. I'm not accusing your father of anything. Just thinking out loud I guess." Zmerr shook his head as he thought that perhaps he had said too much.

Bryce looked on as Nyame and Ashtia shook hands formally agreeing to explore with Ashtia and he. "This is gonna be fun exploring the campus ground's with my schoolmates hopefully beginning the formation of a bond that will last a lifetime" Bryce instantly realized how much of a child he had sounded like but didnt regret a single word to form bonds and friendships is what helps to get any student through tough times at a school.

"While I'm not much of a sorceress, I know enough from growing up with my father to tell you that these sort of odd occurrences are just part of life for for those who practice magic" Pyria replied. "In spite of my problems at work, I am happy to see that the school is busy. It was my father's dream to teach freely and openly, to share knowledge with all races and peoples of all nations. He even gave me a job as the registrar. It's a lot better than my last job." Pyria added.

Asthia smiled at Bryce's words. "Maybe it will be least a lifetime. Maybe several of them. You never know. Anyway, let's take a look at what's up here." The walked up a wide spiral staircase to find several pieces of astronomical equipment: telescopes, orrerys, star charts, the works. "Hmm. I was never much into the stars, but I think Nyame is."

"I am also glad to see the large variety of students because I get to study a little bit myself. It just struck me as odd that there was such an array. Perhaps I'm overthinking the situation." Zmerr shook his head to clear it. His large, floppy ears slapped against his neck when he did this. "I do that sometimes. And more often than not, it gets me into trouble. Again, I apologize if it came across as insulting."

Pyria laughed at that. "Heh. I always thought those ears of yours were cute. I don't mind if you do that. Reminds me of a bunny, if you don't mind my saying it."

Zmerr's cheeks warmed up. "Uh... thanks. I don't mind." He perked his ears up and let them loose again. "They're a blessing and a curse, I guess." Zmerr chuckled a little, sipping his tea.

"It is important for magic, but it is not enchanted," Nyame explained of his staff.

The three went up some stairs to a tower, an architectural formation that Nyame was fairly unfamiliar with. The room was filled with things he couldn't identify, but Asthia said that they had something to do with stars. He examined the thin sheafs and discovered that the symbols and formations were indeed familiar to him. Or, most of them.

"There are star signs I know, and some I do not. This one," he pointed to the paper, "We call the Mother. But they have added stars to her. This star I know, it doesn't belong in the sign. This one, I've never seen."

Pyria chuckled. "Same with much of my body. As a hybrid, I have some problems. These dragon parts were not meant to be put onto a humanoid framework. My mother is human, but she is part elf in her descent, so she was less reluctant to become mates with my father, given that she was already a hybrid. I get a lot of shoulder and back pain, as you might have noticed." She finished her tea. "In fact... if you don't mind... you could rub my shoulders?"

Asthia looked at the stars Nyame had pointed to. She struggled to find any she was familiar with, but found none. "Hmm. We must be in a different hemisphere than the dracon lands. I don't recognize anything here."

"Um, sure." Zmerr said, a little surprised at the question. He came to stand behind her. "Where does it hurt the most?" He placed his hands on her shoulders and waited for further instruction. He was just tall enough to reach her shoulders. He was standing and she was still sitting. Sometimes his size was also a curse. It had its benefits though.

Pyria bent over making it easier for Zmerr to reach. "Start at the top, near my neck, then work your way down, if you can. It hurts the most at the point where my neck meets my shoulders, on both sides." It had been a while since she had a good massage. She would likely enjoy this very much.

Zmerr began gently squeezing her neck at the base, trying not to be too hard, but just hard enough to relax the muscles. They were all knotted up. It must have been terrible for Pyria to have neck pain so bad you could feel it when you touched it. He worked carefully and slowly for a while, making gentle lines up and down her shoulders. The muscles loosened a little bit, but it seemed like they'd need a lot of work and much more frequently.

"Yikes. No wonder your shoulders hurt so bad. You're all knotted up!" Zmerr said as he kept working. "You say this is all from being part dragon?" Zmerr had always kind of wished he'd been born a hybrid. He might have been taller and less awkward then, but if it meant being in pain all the time, he didn't want it. He felt bad for Pyria, but felt she wasn'tthe type to want or accept sympathy, so he didn't tell her that.

Anyway, I appreciate that you're taking the time to help me deal with the tension in muscles. You really are good with this. Thank you."
