Zmerr "mhmed" at Pyria's gratitude. "I understand stress. I had a lot of it myself. But this place? I'd rather be here than anywhere else I know. At least people here respect me." Zmerr chuckled a little. "I'm thankful for that. That among a million other things. I was born a quote 'hybrid-'" he removed one hand and formed quotation marks with his fingers "but not like you. Same race, different cultures is all. I was chastised for it nonetheless. That's why I'm more than one color." He pointed at the white patch around his right eye even though he knew Pyria couldn't see him standing behind her. "Also, blue eyes are unnatural for my father's side of the family. His were red."

"Well, most dracons can spot the signs of the dragon constellation. Not much of a surprise, is it?" Asthia said. "None of the constellations I'm familiar with are visible, which is either due to the location of the academy, the stars from the other planes blocking them out, or both."

Pyria smiled. "Well, you have very pretty fur and nice eyes. And nice ears." She added that last one with a little laugh. "And the academy is lucky to have such a hard worker."

She took a moment to stretch after the massage was finished. "Thanks again for that shoulder rub. Do you want me to return the favor? If you want me to rub or scratch your back or something, I'd be happy to." The half-dragon was in a much better mood, feeling relaxed, something she hadn't enjoyed for weeks.

"Fur?" Zmerr patted the hair on his head. He chuckled. He kind of liked that description. It certainly fit. The hair was thick and coarse and never grew any longer than a few inches. "Sure. That sounds quite nice." He smiled at Pyria, glad to have helped her.

Mystique finally found her dorm but did not see anyone about.. She looked about and decided to choose a bed in a corner where she could be kinda alone. She looked at her schedule to see when the first class was and decided to unpack for a bit. She could only hope that someone would come into the dorm. She needed some guidance from someone who was on the friendly side.

"Well, I guess that's fur? Hair? It's hard to keep these things straight with mammals. I'm not exactly a very hairy female, you know" she patted her had briefly, indicating her lack of hair or fur, given her reptilian biology. "So, where should I rub first?" she asked Zmerr.

"How about we see the other rooms?" Asthia suggested. "We're here to learn how to be mages, not astronomers."

A knock came on the door. "Hello? Is anyone there?" Another half-dragon walked into the room, looking at Mystique. "Hi. My name is Asterion. I'm one of the instructors." He was much like Pyria, his half-sister, but for the opposite gneder, they could have been mistaken for each other. He was dressed in a blue robe and was barefoot, much like his sibling.

Mystique looked up from her unpacking.

"Uhhhh... hi Professor Asterion.... Should I be in a class right now? Or what should I be doing? I am new here and figured that I might just settle into my room before getting down to my classes...... " the words came tumbling out of her mouth as if she was caught in some unknown misdeed of some kind.

"No, it's too late for that now. And I'm no professor. Think of me more like a gym instructor. I teach battle magic." As if to emphasize this, he conjured a small blue magic orb into the air and let it explode in a shower of silent, harmless sparkles.

My half-sister is the registrar, and will assign you your rooms and classes tomorrow. Her name is Pyria. And you are?" Asterion asked.

Mystique still was not sure as if she should curtsy so she just simply stood still.

"My name is Mystique Merrieweather, sir. I have met your sister and she has given me a few things.. How do I know if I have the correct books and supplies? My grandmother set up what she thought that I would need before she passed away.
And will I learn things like Battle Magic? I'd like to make some of those pretty balls that explode....." she spoke with wide open eyes of wonder and awe.

"You should know if you got what your acceptance letter told you to buy. I'll be happy to teach you what you need to know about battle magic, and yes, I will teach you how to generate those pretty lights" Asterion replied.

"Alright. Can't say that's too surprising. My neck gets like that too" Pyria said, moving over to him and starting to knead the muscles, starting where his shoulder met his neck.

"So if I have all in the letter then I don't have to worry about buying more.... that is wonderful! Back where I came from some teachers add more things to buy after class has started. I am glad to know that. I wonder who else will be rooming with me and when they will get here so that I can meet them. " Mystique spoke with a soft smile.

"You'll find that many of your supplies are provided here at the academy, for general class use. As for your room mates, they should be back soon. I heard some people leave a while ago. If you want to find them, I think they went to the observatory" Asterion replied.

Zmerr released a contented sigh as Pyria began to squeeze the tension out of his shoulders. They weren't particularly painful, he just figured it would be rude to deny Pyria's offer. Besides, this felt great. "You do this well. It feels wonderful."

It had just hit Bryce as they were exiting the observatory "Ashtia you said several lifetimes What are you guys lifespans unfortunately me being a human mine is only about 60yrs 80 if im living healthy. But i imagine you guys life spans must be in the 100s of years which is awesome" Bryce said as he looked at the two in awe for truly in this moment he realized that his first two friends made here werent even human. a smile beamed across his face at that thought "This was so cool" he thought to himself.

Pyria smiled. "Well, I have experience. I told you about my last job, right? Or at least, I think mentioned that I had one before. I used to work in a spa for a few years, but when it closed down, my father gave me this position as a registrar."

"Well, a dracon usually lives past a century, if he lives that long without being killed by something else. Maybe 120 years." Asthia said.

"Well, that's pretty neat! I was fortunate to be born rich, but I was chased out and lived in the jungle for some time. I have no idea how long or even how old I am anymore." a hint of sadness was just barely audible in his voice. "But it's not a big deal. It doesn't appear to me that birthdays or age are really that important around here."

"Well, ability is important in this academy. We don't make distinctions about things like race, age, gender, or the like. It doesn't matter to me, or to anyone here. No matter where you are from, we would always value you here."

Pyria was feeling much better now, and she was much happier too. "How are your feet? I can give those a quick rub too. Not sure why you use those boots, but that's your choice." She didn't use footwear herself, as a half-dragon.
