Angelo sighed as he woke up that morning to the sound of his buzzing alarm clock, just another day of boring monogamy. Angelo got breakfast and changed into his school uniform and since he was in his junior year of high school he had to wear a blue tie which identified his year while the seniors had green and the freshmen wore red which seemed appropriate since their the ones who get the hazing and of course the sophomores that had yellow.

Angelo lived in an apartment in California ((only using since its the most recognizable)) taking classes at the local school with his mother while his father was off in god knows where as far as Angelo was concerned. The year is 2047 and technology has advanced far beyond its time as Angelo pressed a button on his green nerve gear and turned off access to the global net making sure that Angelo wouldn't be forced into a duel so early in the morning, Angelo still needed to teach more to his protégé before he would start tag team fighting with him. Angelo installed brain burst years ago and to Angelo it was a way to vent all his frustrations on a single opponent at a time while using his burst points to avoid fights in the real world and also get help on his studies so he can keep passing and get into a good college.

Angelo went to the school they had in Daly city usually a school for your typical san Francisco kids but obviously their were few that didn't fit the criteria Angelo for one since he was born in Puerto Rico and only moved here to get away from his father at least that's what his mother told him. Angelo soon walked past all the crowds and sat in his desk despite the fact that he was the first person their, Angelo liked the quiet and the time to think to himself knowing classes would start soon....

As usual Danny was up pretty early. This made sense as the school was quite a distance from his house, and if at all possible he still preferred to walk or take his bike everywhere. At least he no longer had panic attacks when in a car like the first few months after the accident, but even though it was three years ago he still got uncomfortable, which he explained why he was riding his bike this early in the morning.

At the moment Danny couldn't be challenged since he had the access to the global network turned off on his nerve gear. He actually didn't like duels that much, and only fought to collect points which he mainly used to accelerate. Though he did spend quite a few leveling up and improving his avatar of course. In the 25 months since he installed Brain Burst he had managed to reach level 4, though he had no doubt that his protégé would reach that level much faster.

Not wanting to get trouble for riding his bike on school grounds, he got off, and straightened the red tie all freshman had to wear. With his bike now in hand he passed the school gate and headed for the nearest bike rack.

As his alarm clock went off, Jason only yawned and stared at the ceiling above his bed for another five minutes before finally dragging himself out of his bed. Another day, another lesson in getting my ass kicked. This is getting old... Still, he wasn't mad at Angelo for it. In fact, Jason got better at the game with each and every lesson. After the last lesson, Angelo had even said that they'd be doing tag team battles soon if he got the next few lessons good enough. Standing up, he stretches and heads to the bathroom, making sure to be quiet so his grandparents could rest up as long as they needed. They were good people, kind, loving, everything he could want in parents, but it wasn't the same.

Right, remember what mom said. Of course, what his mother had said was easier said than done, something he discovered and hated more and more every day. Closing the bathroom door behind him, he gets into the shower and washes off before getting out and getting dressed in his uniform. He put on his blue tie and then wrapped his scarf around his neck. Jason never told anyone why he wore it, he didn't feel he had to. He had his reasons and that should be good enough. Heading downstairs, he grabs some toast and a cereal bar and heads out, climbing onto his skateboard and setting off. After a ten minute ride, he rode onto school grounds, still munching on a piece of toast. "Now then, where could the Guardian himself be..."

Liliana's alarm clock went off early, but Liliana was already awake. When she had turn 18, it suited both her Aunt and herself for her to get a place of her own. It was a small one bedroom place but Lily loved it. It was hers, and hers alone. Her Puppy, Moe, barked at the alarm clock as if it was a challenger, and Lily laughed. She turned the alarm off, a piece of toast in one hand, and her hair brushed to one side as it dried. She was dressed, and her school pack was ready. She had a small back yard, thankfully, and she had installed a dog door for Moe. she hoped he didn't grow bigger then it. The vet wasn't too sure what kind of dog he was.

She checked everything, finished her toast, and tied her hair up. She had her linker device on her, but not where anyone could see, and she headed out, locking the door behind her, and putting her keys away. She had the link off, s she wouldn't be attacked during school hours. The first time she had taken the link with her to school, only a few weeks ago, she had been forced to duel. Not something she wished to repeat during school times.

Lily dedicated herself to getting good grades, and most of the time, she succeeded. She generally got top grades, except in Maths. She stuggled in maths, but got a good grade in that generally overall. She sighed, already counting down the minutes until school was over. She lived near the school, so it was easier to walk there then anything else, which is what she did. She thought as she did so, humming to herself. She was still virtually knew to the accel world, and yet, she thought she could go far. She just needed to work with her guardian.

She sighed and walked into the school grounds.

Angelo put his feet up on the desk looking at the ceiling thinking about his student and going to the unlimited zone with him soon. He was getting better but Angelo couldn't tell if it was because he was skilled or because Angelo was a good teacher when it came to the game he has been playing for over a year. All Angelo wanted was to get going and start fighting again, it was only their that Angelo was able to fly as a rare fighter that had real wings. Angelo thinks he has wings because he kept wanting to ascend and join the angels hearing the trumpets and to feel the bliss of being an Angel but his wings are black instead of white because of his hatred for people and their nature to pick on and beat people when their down.

Angelo hard the bell for first period start signaling the beginning of class, Angelo put his feet down and waited for his protege to come in since they were both the same age they had some of the same classes together. Angelo would give him another lesson at lunch on the roof as usual for his lessons. As Angelo waited for all the students and the teacher to come in so they can start class...

Danny was just locking up his bike when he saw Liliana. To be honest he still found it strange that he was the guardian of the older girl. But he didn't regret his choice, even though just about the only thing they had in common was that neither of them talked much and, that they were both involved in car crashes. Though hers was admittedly much worse.

Danny walked over to her." Hey, you up for some training after school?" Since Liliana's Avatar was still was just first level 1 guessing her full potential wasn't easy but Danny was sure she would do pretty well later on, if only thanks to her useful special ability. He would never tell anyone but being able to heal was a lot better than turning your boomerang into a homing weapon. Unfortunately there no time to discuss their plans any further as the school bell right after Danny asked that, and it would be foolish to accelerate and waste points over something like this, especially since Liliana could just mail him her reply.

Liliana looked up when Danny came over and gave him a smile. it had never bothered her that he was younger then her. He had been playing the game longer then her, given that her Aunt wouldn't let her have the link nor play the game, but as soon as Lily had moved out, she had accessed, with her Aunts permission some of her inheritance, to survive as she searched for a job and gotten the link. Danny was good at the world and to Lily that was all that mattered.

She nodded as the bell rang "yep. See you later! Do well in classes! Don't get into trouble!" She jogged off to her first class, Chemistry, moving through the school easily and arriving as one of the firsts ones there. She chose her seat, slipping into it and took out her things. She glanced at the time, the. Sighed and looked about the classroom

Stopping and flipping his skateboard up to where he could pick it up, Jason finished his toast and pulled out the cereal bar, opening it halfway and walking up to his first class, which he and Angelo shared since they were in the same year here at school. He flipped off his net access, having been listening to music on his way to school through the internet, and walked up the stairs, humming one of his favorite songs to himself quietly. When the first bell rang, he picked up the pace, getting to the classroom with barely a minute left to spare before the second bell that would have marked him as tardy. Just what I'd need...

Spotting Angelo in his usual seat, Jason joins him in the seat next to him and leans back. "Morning, oh great guardian. What's the plan for today?"

You will see dear protege" Angelo told him seeing the teacher come as Angelo pulled up the notes on his screen as the teacher called role call. Afterwards he started his lecture and he started to type in his notes as he talked. Angelo knew their were other burst linkers in the school but as far as Angelo knew they weren't going to attack Angelo or his protege to take their points otherwise Angelo would bring his wrath upon them.

The class's in the school went normally as the day went on and after the first class was over the next teacher came in doing their lesson and so on. Soon it was time for lunch which meant it was time for his students training so Angelo stood up gesturing for Jason to follow as he lead tree way to the schools rooftop

As lunch came, Liliana rose. She stretched, gathering her things and eagerly headinng out the classrooms, out into the open, and going over, with her lunch, to the meeting spot she and Danny had. Lunch was a perfect time for them to meet up, as well as after school, but sometimes Liliana had to work after school. She worked in a book store, and three times a week after school she would have a shift, as well as a weekend shift. While she had her inheritance, she didnt want to rely on that. So that was why she worked.

She settled down against a tree, content to wait for Danny, eating her sandwich, and enjoying the time outside.

Class was as dull as normal, with first period was history, something Jason listened to and took notes on for the most part, but occasionally fell asleep. Today was one of the sleep days. When the bell rung for first period to end, he shot awake and looked around before grabbing his stuff and nodding to Angelo on his way out. He had P.E. second, then back with Angelo for math in third, then he went to practice guitar in fourth before lunch. He went through the routines, most definitely falling asleep in math even though he was vaguely sure that Angelo had tried to wake him. When he left for his guitar class, he was wide awake and ready to go, fourth period being his favorite class of all.

Of course, it never lasted long enough and soon enough, the lunch bell rang and Jason met Angelo in the halls, following him up to the roof. "You know, maybe I should just spend fourth period up there. We're allowed to practice where ever during class."

that would be the wise choice since we always come up here for your training" Angelo said as he walked up the stairs and once they got to the roof he sat down on a bench nearby and he said "burst link" as the world seemed to stop around him and Jason his specter avatar came out
Although Angelo's avatar had great detail to it their was one major flaw.....it was about 4 feet tall making him a shrimp compared to his actual size of 6 ft tall. "say nothing about my avatar and I wont kick your ass when were in the match" Angelo warned knowing he said that to him every time they trained but even then it would have been hard for Jason not to laugh at how different Angelo looked as his spectator form.

Angelo then looked at matchmaking and noticed the same names as last time when he tried to match make. two different students in this school must be burst linkers but since they haven't made the attempt to challenge either Angelo or Jason then Angelo saw no need to fight someone that could find out who his real identity was since it was considered taboo to let anyone but your protégé know who you are in real life. Regardless Angelo then pressed on Jason's avatar name and they were both put into their fighting avatars and they were digitized into the corrupted laboratory zone
since they were on the roof when either of them looked down they would see land covered in ashes and toxic waste filled ponds, inside their would be bubbling beakers and evil concoctions everywhere that would either poison or help increase the special bar when hit with. "well what do you know, looks like we got the corrupted lab zone. very rare" Angelo said as he turned back to Jason seeing if he was ready to start...

Jason drew his sword from it's sheath on his back and slid into a ready stance. "And hazardous to anyone fighting in it. Should be fun. What's today's lesson." He circled Angelo carefully, keeping the sword between him and Angelo's scythe. He'd taken hits from that before and it's a miracle he was able to reach level three with as harsh as the man could get. And those spikes, they were pretty mean too. Disarming Angelo, while an accident, had not been even a little helpful.

Raiki usually kept a set of notes for school and another for Brain Burst(which he had not yet shown to Lily). Simply because this was more than just a game to him. It is a lifestyle and shouldn't be taken lightly. Though he does know how to differentiate between the two worlds. It was never life-threating serious.

He was off in his own world jotting down plans and and short range goals. Even working on a possible training schedule for Lily. This was just a formality. There was more to Brain Burst than nonstop training to get better. She had to learn and grow from her own experiences.

The bell rang marking the end of the class which snapped him out of his own world. It was now time to move on to lunch. Where he planned to meet up with Lily. He quickly saved his notes and closed the files. He makes way to the planned meeting spot. On the way, Raiki kept linked to the net. Practically welcoming other burst linkers. This would create an opportunity for Lily to put he practice to good use and for Raiki to asses progress. As well as weak points that need tweaking.

He makes it up to the tree where he spots Lily. "Bon appetit" he says as he approaches with a warm smile. "I hope you're ready, but there's no rush". He claims a spot to the right of her and grabs his own assorted lunch box.

well now then since your so eager to learn more the lesson today will be able using what you have to your advantage so we will bring this fight downstairs" Lorenzo said taking out his scythe and he jumped in the air dropping down with his leg extended and kicking Jason down the next floor below to obviously a lab room with different bottles and beakers with chemicals. Attack was just enough to cause him to loose some health but it wasn't going to destroy him, now for the lesson "everything around you can be used as a weapon. when facing a stronger opponent you need to look around your surroundings Find a weakness and exploit it if you cant then use what you do have at your disposal, like this stage has many chemicals for you to use but obviously you don't know what will happen if you throw one at me or use some on yourself." Lorenzo offered and he grabbed a beaker with red liquid and he put it on his hand and it burned which meant it was a health drainer so now they were equal in health. That was just dumb luck but it was good example to state his point...

Lily had been drifting into her own thoughts, waiting for Reiki to approach her, unconsciously eating her food, watching as a bird took flight. She had a chocolate bar, which she didn't even care that most of the other girls in schoo would consider it fattening. Maybe if they did something beside sit on their butts and apply ridiculous amounts of make up, they wouldn't have to worry that their butts were getting larger and rounded. Lily was fairly active, so she consider the chocolate a reward for that. She began to eat it without any qualms, hoping that Moe wasn't having a blast in the apartment.

She looked up as Reiki approached and gave him a smile, shoving her rubbish in her lunchbox, "I'm always ready" She said eagerly, squirming and waiting as Reiki ate. "I hope your classes went well, or rather, have gone well" She corrected herself, content for now to make small talk, as she sat her lunch box aside with the rest of her school gear.

Raiki's Bento Box

Raiki nods, wondering if she really was always ready. "We'll see" he says innocently as he cracks open his bento box. A soft chuckle escapes at the site of the contents inside. He was no longer a child, but his mother occasionally packed a surprise here and there. Quite frankly he enjoyed them. Raiki helps himself. It was a small lunch, so he was done fairly quick.

He looks over at Lily "Classes were fine. I thought about you" he teased. Referring to the plans he had made for this training. "Well then let's begin" he says catapulting himself back onto his feet. Turning around he offers Lily a hand. He was a kind soul to his peers, maybe a little too kind sometimes. Though he could always make up for it in training.

Jason looked at each and every beaker, vial, test tube, and chemical vat, large or small, and frowned. Why waste time on a lesson that rarely has any kind of meaning in the more common fields. Especially the woodlands. I'll trust him since he knows this stuff better. I still don't like his angle with this though. Grabbing a green one, hopefully acid, he flings it at Angelo and leaps backwards to avoid the counter attack before charging up the opposite aisle. "Well, no point wasting time then, is there?"

Lorenzo waited and saw he chose the green one hoping for acid but unfortunately for Jason green also stood for the special bar and now it was full. "This lesson applies everywhere. Don't forget this place resembles the real world, this is the school regardless how it looks!" Lorenzo called out unsure of where he was but it didn't matter as Lorenzo used his special ability and his scythe glowed bright people before Lorenzo slashed at the side of the building knowing that if Jason was hit then it would reveal where he was when he fell on his as from the impact while the rooms and part of the building started to crumble. "Know the school and you can figure out a way to beat me"

Lily was distracted as she saw Raiki's lunch, and glanced away quickly. She could remember her mother painstakingly making the perfect PBJ sandwiches for her kindergarten or preschool years, and she swallowed. Her aunt had left her to her own devices to make her own lunches, and thus, she had never really known the care some parents and guardians put into things like lunches. She pretended she was merely playing with strands of grass, weaving them.

She looked over when Raiki began to speak, teasing her. She rolled her eyes and replied, "I imagine that was distracting" She started to rise as he jumped to his feet, but then smiled, and took his offered hand, helping herself up, before smoothing her clothes and brushing her hair back behind her hair. She smiled and said, "Lets!"
