Kansas City Evacuation Center Codename: 'Hope' July 24th 2014 5 miles outside of Quarantine Zone 3:30 p.m.
“I need that damn evacuation chopper here and I need it here ten minutes ago! The damn zeds are pouring on us like rain, were barely holding them off now! The quarantine zone is right outside this gate!”
“The area is too hot Sir, General Alston has ordered us to stay grounded. Please Advise, your on your own. Out.”
Grant slammed his hand into the radio angrily as sparks sizzled out around the indent mark he had made with his hand. He let out a rather loud aggravated scream as he swiped his arm across the table knocking the radio device to the ground. This wasn't possible that they were leaving them here to die, at the behest of thousands of zeds and countless people who had flocked here for evacuation. It was a god damn buffet out there now, and no one was coming to help them. Grant shook his head hard as his neck cracked loudly, he needed to do something and the time had to be now, or none of them were going to survive. The perimeter had perhaps hours if not less before it was over run, their only saving grace was that the ass end of the camp was blocked off by fallen debris that was impassable, so they were only facing zeds on one side, but it was also their downfall because the only way out was now swarming with untold numbers of zeds. There were at least over a thousand survivors out there, there was no way he could get them all out of the camp ever if they had a way. He could cut an run... no he would not abandon these people like that, he could and would not flee like a coward!
“Think god damn it think...”
Grant spoke to himself as his head was pounding, just outside he could hear the continued echo of 50. calibers going off on the perimeter wall and the many screams from the survivors who were now in an absolute frenzy out there. Then the idea hit him just like that, there was a sewer entrance in the center of camp, it was the only real way out of here. But the idea was a risk on its own given there was no telling what lay in those sewers now. An the fact that the people out their were already on edge and panicking, the situation was impossible an he damn well knew it. Just then a loud resounding crash came from outside the tent and many screams.
“The perimeter is breached! Retreat! Retreat!”
Granted practically lunged out of the tent as he grabbed the M60 from the table, upon running outside the survivors were no in a full panic as they were screaming and running in the opposite direction. Grant took foot as he made his way through the crowd, if it wasn't for his bulk they would have ran him over.
“Captain Sit Rep!”
Grant ran up to the middle aged male who was barking orders out at the crowd of people, He quickly ran to Grant as he yelled over the panicked screams.
“The fence is down Sir! Two god damn tanks came out of nowhere an charged, fuckers took the weak part of the fence down in seconds, we managed to subdue them but we have zeds pissing through the gates and we lost five men when the fence was crippled. In just a couple words Colonel were fucked!”
“God damn it just one fucking break!”
“Were all gonna get a permanent break soon Colonel, we don't have the man power or the ammo to keep up this fight! We have to get the hell out of here while we still have a chance too!”
“No! We can't just leave these civilians to die Captain! We need to come up with a plan!”
“Colonel Grant with all due respect... their as good as dead! We can't protect them anymore, at this point we are civilians ourselves! Where are the damn choppers?!”
“They abandoned us Captain were on our own...”
Grant gave a sour look as he spoke the words and also because the Captain was right, the camp could not be retaken or even protected anymore. Grant didn't want to cut and run like this, but that choice was now the only choice. Grant closed his eyes for a second as he was going to forever regret his next action, but it was over and there was nothing they could do now.
“Gather whatever ammo you can Captain, tell any surviving personnel to meet at the sewer entrance in the center of Camp! Were getting the hell out of here!”
Camp Hope... looking back on it now its almost an irony to me. Seeming it was the last standing evacuation camp to fall... and with it whatever hope still remained in this world. That was almost a year ago now, those of us who were able to escape that massacre remember it as B-Day or Bloody Day, lame as hell but the amount of blood that covered the ground earned that name. Next to no one survived that day except a handful of soldiers whom escaped through the zed infested sewers beneath the city. After that day we were soldiers no more, but we were just another band of humans trying to survive. Within a year we went from sixteen to four losing a man almost every month, almost perfectly if you had a warped mind to see it that way. Then in another six months it was just me. The last known survivor of Camp Hope, the loner, the chosen one, hell I will take any name really in the end. What difference does it make anymore anyways? The only thing I hear anymore is some fat fuck boomer farting in the distance. Why the hell am I even bothering to record this? You want the truth? You want the definitive truth? Were all fucked.... were fucked up the ass with a dick that has broken off deep inside and its festering and becoming diseased and infected, and no amount of surgery can remove it. I am tired of this shit, and I am tired of these damn zeds, I wish they would just finally kill me and get it over with because there is no point in living in this world anymore. I wish I could just let myself die, but I can't...I can't do it because of a promise, a promise that binds me to life, a promise I wish I would have never made. So I fight.... I fight for as long as I can hoping that my finger slips or I run out of ammo in a dark alley somewhere surrounded by zeds with no way out. But God won;t let it happen, why would he? He shit on us all time and time again, tortured us and left us to die in this festering world, so why would he grant my one prayer to just die? Fuck it I don't care anymore anyways, there is no one left anyways, tonight I am going to get as drunk as possible and hopefully I will black out and get found by some tank who will crush me to death. *audible sigh* I can only hope that this will be the end of my life, I am tired, a tired old man with nothing left. I know he is not listening but... God help me.... *click*
Welcome to my newest role play left 4 dead: No hope! First and foremost it is important to note that this role play will have only up to four characters like the game itself, it will be first come first serve and I will not accept reserves for later, only in the spirit of keeping it fair all around. I am not in the habit of boring people with facts that can easily be learned so lets get this underway with some things you should know right off the bat. This role play will be starting in and around Brooksville Mississippi a small town with about a population of 1000. We will not be starting together, we will be meeting in the role play itself however we see fit to meet. Now while this role play will have a lot of zombie carnage this will not be the main goal of this role play, in fact killing zombies is but a small portion, my hopes for this role play is in character development and the story itself. So if your just here to smash zombies this may not be for you. An most important if this is not apparent or you did not read my intro the special zeds exist in this role play, for those of you who have never played the game you can read up on them here.
Rules I am not going to go through and post like twenty rules, that is not the way I like to role play however I am going to set some standard guidelines here just in case to keep it smooth. First and foremost I want all guild rules followed there is no exceptions to this, I want to keep this as clean as possible for some of our younger role players who may read our story. So if sex comes into the role play anywhere I want it faded to black or taken to PM. Two there will be swearing because lets face it were living in a shit world its inevitable, however I do not want every other word swearing it won't be tolerated so use common sense with your posts and never will the two paths cross. Three I will not tolerate god modding or characters that are a love letter to yourself or characters that are unhurt able. None of us are going to control each others characters without prior permissions and none of us are god like in this role play. Four this role play will have blood and it will have gore, however I want you to once again have common sense when you describe what is happening, you know what I am talking about when I say taking it too far, and if you don't then this may not be for you. An lastly I do not want heated arguments in the OOC I encourage discussion but when it turns into personal attacks and so forth it won't be tolerated, respect your fellow role players or otherwise I will step in.
