With the Festival of Flowers in full swing, people crowded the street as merchants sold everything varying from mochi to bento boxes. Men and women alike flitted from one place to another as the petals of the sakura trees fell and danced in the wind. The smell of grilled fish and meats ran through the streets and mingled with the sweet smell of rose oil perfume. Few remembered or even conversed about the fire the night before other than old men who spinned their tales to young children and adults alike for a few yen. The alleys leading to the Elder's house were decorated with lanterns and filled with people who couldn't help but notice the small group of warriors waiting at his gate for the servants to open the doors. Two guards stood and watched the warriors and festival goers alike, making sure nobody caused trouble.

The doors of the Elder's house opened as a servant clad in a pink and white kimono pushed them aside. "Elder Naginari will see you now." said the young girl, obviously new to the job as she bowed to the warriors. "He said that I must warn you that what he has to tell you is very important. He doesn't want anything spoken of here talked about in public. He also says that he is sorry for calling on you without any information given on your part." the woman said as she led the group in and closed the doors. She walked down a long hallway and stopped at the third door on the right. She pushed open a pane of the door and motioned for the group to enter.

Yamada Kiyoku

All around, people of all shapes and flavours were bustling about the village of Hang Yi. They were festival-goers, mostly people who had seldom so much as set their eyes on this small, unassuming village. They had come from all across the land, just in order to see this one, transient glimpse of peace. A break from the horrors of war, from the exhaustion of hard work, and from the mundane things that seemed to fill every passing breathe of their boring lives.

In this crowd, a passerby likely wouldn't be noticed for more than an instant, forgotten as one walked past and moved on to the next little pocket of joy on the list. It was the perfect place for her, the maid in red, who danced completely unnoticed straight through the great gathering of people. It was the ultimate, most unfailing disguise. She was a part of the crowd, so it would not be strange for her to go anywhere, or look at anything in particular. She could travel, unseen, through any part of the village without being stopped. It was ideal.

During her jaunt through the streets, she took note of many things, but none of them were apparently relevant to her mission. Still, she committed every detail to memory, watched every face for signs of danger, listened in to all sorts of interesting conversations, and eventually arrived close to her destination having heard and seen everything.

There were several individuals already waiting outside of the building, likely awaiting for admittance by their most lovely host. They had been called here, for what reason they did not know, but they were expected to come and meet with the Elder of the village for something very important.

Naturally, Kiyoku arrived a little early, so that she could position herself close to the group in such a way that her presence wouldn't be questioned. She stood nearby, occupying her body by sweeping the ground close to the house's gate. It would not be strange for a servant to be here at this moment, and until it was time to go in, it was likely that nobody would guess that she was actually a member of the party of warriors.

...

Some time passed, and a servant opened up the doors to the Elder's house, quickly briefing the group on what they should do. Following the woman's instructions, Kiyoku nonchalantly follows her through the doorway and into the house, giving a slight wink and a wave at the evidently inexperienced servant girl in front of her. While they were starting to walk down the hallway, Kiyoku took the time to begin talking in a slightly hushed voice to the other members of the group, in an attempt to get a feel for them and their personalities.

"Wow, this is kind of exciting, isn't it?", she whispers in an excited tone.
Her expression was an unwavering, cheerful smile, and everything from her body movements to her style of walking seemed to point to her being a particular kind of person. She seemed a carefree, unprofessional girl, the sort who could not possibly fit in with the collection of warriors she was surrounded by.

Well, in this scenario, standing out couldn't be helped. There was no point in trying to remain hidden, now that she had already joined the group openly. She would just have to go along with it, for now.

"Elder Naginari will see you now."

Those were the words Ni had been waiting to hear. His information about his sisters assailant led him to this village. He thought maybe the Elder would have some kind of insight about who might have killed her. So upon the invitation Ni's anticipation was teaming. It seemed he wasn't the only one just a little too excited to be going to see the elder, although he knew his purpose was entirely different to be sure. But, they didn't have to know that.

"Wow, this is kind of exciting, isn't it?"
The girl within the group asked. "Yea! I wonder what he wants!" Ni coughed at his slip of being a bit too enthusiastic. But how could he not be? This day had taken so many years to fruition. He hoped this wasn't just another dead end in regards to his investigation, but he knew the honor to be called in nonetheless. Ni straightened his posture and cleared his throat and followed the woman in.

Aika Kagennotsuki - Nighttime

Tomorrow the Festival would begin, yet Aika did not even have the time to try and enjoy it. Arriving in the dead of night, she had had to go straight to unpacking what she'd bought and dismissing the guards that had followed off to let them do as they pleased -- much to their chagrin as per contradiction of orders under her brother. Tire, yet a small flicker of excitement to see the beauty of the town once the whisper of dawn awoke the villagers in the humble living area. It was a favorite time of year for more than just her...And for once, she was actually able to come here instead of assist at home. That...That in itself should be more than enough to be given, with the hopes of the glimpsing wishes that would come with each petal waiting to breathe into the air and take flight to a new land. That was her focus for the night once she'd settled down, eyepatch fastened secure to her right eye to ensure it would not move in her slumber.

A night passed. A morning to come.

"Elder Naginari will see you now."

A single eye turned to the one that had said it, a soft smile bought to the face of Aika as she listened to the two others that had spoken in such excited tones. A soft sigh and she adjusted her left hand to sit in a lazed fashion upon the hilt of her sword. The flowers had come into bloom, the tower bustling with such a contagious vigor, and she had come on official reasons as per her father's word. Even with the occasional greeting of a face that recognized her, she could only give her pleasantries in passing before moving on to keep up with her task of following. Respects would have to be paid another time in this case, as another day tacked up to working, no matter how sweet...That was what she expected when she woke up early and readied herself to come over to see the Elder, she supposed.

Oh well. Time to get to work.

With a roll of her shoulder to push up her cloak, the woman was the first to enter once she was invited in. As per normal, a bow upon entering and the common courtesies to go through of not dirtying his house followed with her remaining one step behind the girl that had motioned them in to begin with. And she would probably be the first to announce herself in a calmed tone in order to associate as quickly as she could on a "familiar" term, if put so.

"Elder Naginari. On behalf of my father, I -- Aika Kagennotsuki -- will be here in the stead of my brother in regards to the letter that was sent requesting his presence. My apologies if this causes any issues in the request."

Botan Ichihara

"Elder Naginari will see you now."

Those words broke the aged ronin from his meditation that he had gone into while he waited with other warriors. Why he was invited to such a gather he was unsure for he was a ronin, a samurai with no lord or master. Normally ronin would not be trusted for most put there blade to the work of mercenaries or hired thugs turning to crime to earn a living and loosing the path of what it meant to be a samurai, to follow the bushido code. They lost their honor, something that Botan had not lost so perhaps he was different. He pushed the thought aside, it was better to have a clear mind then one that pondered on a question that cannot be answered.

He heard a few whispers out of the other warriors there, mostly the younger warriors. His face remained impassive as he followed his fellow warriors inside, giving a bow to whom he presumed was Elder Naginari. Upon what seemed to be the completion of the first warrior's introduction to the Elder, Botan stepped in with his own.

"It is a privilege to meet. I thank you for allowing this ronin into your home," he stated being truthful on who he was ",I am Botan Ichihara."

Liu Kai Zheng

Eyelids fluttered open, revealing bluish gray eyes as the sound of the elder's house doors opening reached her ears. She had waited quite a while. Despite the disappointment that she had harbored due to the Sakura trees being set on fire before their full bloom, Zheng was rather glad about the cheery festival mood most had on that day, almost like the disaster never happened. She enjoyed the event, something that served as a relaxing break from her travelling. Mentally sighing while listening to the servant that greeted her view, Zheng straightened her back from the wall beside the doors and the leaning posture she was in. She let some of the others walk in first before entering herself, observing said persons as they passed.

The door led to a long hallway that stretched out before the warriors. However, the servant only walked so far, till reaching the third door on the right. During the short walking time, two of the others had expressed their enthusiasm, to which Zheng only replied with a soft 'hmph', a little acquiescing smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.

Arriving at the room, Zheng greeted the elder with a bow. She noticed that another had done so too, and some had introduced themselves. Zheng stood at the ready to give an ear to whatever he had to say.
