@SimplyJohn All very true. Although, she'd probably have to try a little for Seth's interest. He's the epidemy of introversion. Barely talks unless spoken to. Except during missions where he's forced to communicate. Some of his old squad mates thought he was mute.

@Dragonite777 Since she's so extroverted it might be good for the two of them to head to the bars together. She'd be the perfect wingman for him. :)

@SimplyJohn That's great, in theory. The hard part would be getting him out of his room when there's down time. He's typically playing some strategy game (winning about 87% of the time) or reading up on an interesting topic (usually involving stealth, survival, or strategy). Occasionally fiddling with gadgets that may be useful. He's not good with electronics, though, so almost all of them fail. It's a pass time though. If he's getting alcohol, it's gonna be something from a convenience store or super market and drinks it on the way back (not driving, though). Again, his brain is stuck in logic mode.

@SouljaGirl It doesn't have to be anime if you don't want it to be. It's all a matter of how you play and what your character does.

I really like your character's abilities. I just want to make it very clear that one would not be selected for this program if they showed tenancy to not follow orders. Charging in ahead before plans are made (presumably due to impatience) is grounds for demotion and/or dismissal in most armed forces in real-life. Saffron would not and will not get away with disorderly conduct of any kind.

@SouljaGirl
It only seems that way because of the imagery that people have used for their characters. I had no intentions of using such plot conventions in this roleplay.

No problem. Saffron's an experienced military officer and understands her place in the chain of command. Having said that, in situations where she's under her own recognisance she's more likely to choose a straightforward approach rather than a stealthy one.

For example, when told to defend an area she'll use offense as the best defense to take out her targets before they can undermine her position. This could mean she'll get pulled out of position and into an ambush, or that she'll get outflanked by overwhelming odds, but that's the risk of using such a high-profile tactic and I'd leave it upto you as GM to decide whether she'd get herself into hot water or not.

I finished Scott's bio, specializations will come tomorrow. For Scott in particular it will be slightly challenging to create specializations and augmentations seeing as he's supposed to be above average in all areas while being the best at no particular one.

If you're still having problems with his abilities, why not give him a Mimicry system? This would allow him to scan and copy the functions of any other suit in close proximity, but would not be as effective as the original version. That way he could switch between different roles on the fly, rather than having a piece of equipment which does everything.

His 'jack-of-all-trades' training would come into play then as he would be able to make use of any of the different suit upgrades without too much additional experience being required.

That is an amazing idea. A leader that can do anything his team can

Well, as long as he's close to them at least. It'd be a bit overpowered if he could use all of their abilities anytime he wanted. Also limiting his ability to close range only would mean he'd have to weight up the tactical concerns of the operation, adding his support to whichever team member required it the most in order for the mission to succeed.

It may leave him vulnerable if he were ever caught by himself, but hopefully this would encouraging him to keep the team together and coherent to prevent leaving himself exposed.

Very true. Or maybe just different tools for him to effectively lead, like infrared target markers, methods of marking specific enemies without using words.

I did consider whether some 'nanodrones' with the capacity to map out the area and report back on enemy positions and movements would be useful, but in terms of gameplay this would make Commander RIley a bit static when the action started. He'd basically just hunker down somewhere screaming orders over the radio while everybody else got their hands dirty.

By the way, If we start before someone takes S08, your character will be S08 instead of S09. Numbers won't be skipped on this team.

If only the Space Gophers had missed him first, then we wouldn't have to now.

Who was it that bet him he could do that mission wearing nothing but a jockstrap stuffed with parsnips anyway?
