Hey @BeautifulSnow, welcome aboard. Our GM is out of town ATM but we're, ehem, commandeering his vessel so to speak.
I'll be posting as his characters as soon as those mermaids are out of our camp! You're welcome to join in, but be advised the GM might have opinions of it when he returns!

By the way, when you mention "Ruby" getting captured by "THE" pirates, do you mean us or some other pirates? Cause we ain't got no captive mermaids atm.

Edit: I'd also rather a more veteran player took the role of the queen for now... If anyone is up for it?

Cyanide Sweetie asked me if I wanted to play the mermaid queen because she saw the RP's i am in [ in my signature ] and thought of me that I am a skilled RP'er. Skilled enough to play a human hating, protective mermaid queen.. But it's okay :)

And for Ruby, that's the thing.. I want her to be 'captured' in the past as she could have been the first mermaid to be captured and that she made some deal that she would become a pirate and tell them about the great treasures which she could dig up from far under water since she is a mermaid.

:3 it was in my understandin that mermaid enslaving had been going on for a long time, long enough that modt of the enslaved had died off and mermaids have gotten more aggressive at protecting themselves, xD its just a guess since the Phoenix crew had no idea that merfolk were even a thing i figured that mer slave trafficking must not be as prominent as it was in the past.

Aye! She convinved me through PM. If she trusts you then so do I!

Also as our dearest cyanide says, mermaid enslaving is indeed a thing of the past, at least that's how we've been made to believe. It's not an open thing but appearantly the dictator the pirates are running from have enslaved them before so he might aswell still be doing it somewhere. The pirates just don't know about it.

Maybe some ships from the dictator can start showing up near the island and capturing mermaids, and the Phoenix are blamed when merpeople go missing? It would spice things up, just a wee baby idea.

I am not doing a character. Nope. I don't understand any of them - except Gwen, of course.

Also girl, that is a great idea. Gwen, who has an irrational fear of humans, would be a prime target. Just throwing that out there.

yeah, the idea for Ruby is, is that she was captured by the phoenix pirates [this also could have happened by accident] and that they saw a big price in her because there of course are Always people wanting a mermaid slave and such but that she made a deal, she would make them rich and they wouldn't sell her to the slave market. And that is how she became a pirate while being a mermaid too.

Edit: and thank you for the trust in me :D I am gonna read trough the IC and her CS and will then see what I can make of it ;) I'll be online as much as possible but I am in my final exams period from school so I might also be busy! [ which means you may feel totally free to virtual kick my ass if you need me ]

@CLIW good idea xP i wish ive been on this website for longer so i knew more people to rope into this. ill go harass some people, see if i can come up with anything? You guys have any friends you could convince to come play?

@BeautifulSnow Most the phoenix crew were completely surprised by existence of mermaids, if you could get a friend to join you could possibly make it to where one of the more shady crew members from the phoenix captured you on the voyage and took off with you to make back and make their own treasure seeking crew XP IDK i just dont know how else the whole pirate mermaid thing could be connected to the phoenix crew at all. It would prolly just be easier to make it a whole different crew that abducted her?????
