Speciality Lila's style of thievery is slightly different. Lila specializes in deceit, seducing her target, getting her target to let her in, or seducing guards to get past them, all in order to nick what the wants, using her nimble fingers and thievery skills to steal anything of value. Lila also gathers informations, lowers people's guard, gets blueprints. In summary, Lila deals with people. Stealing directly from them, or using people to find extra information for the group.
Background Lila was born in a large city as an only child. Her father was a magician and her mother was in the same profession. Since, Lila had an interest in magic, her parents taught her from a very young age. So, by the time that Lila went to middle school she was quite skilled in manipulating someones attention and making slight and hardly detectable hand movements. It was in high school that Lila began to steal. It began as pickpocketing, simple things, nicking wallets, keys, and small items. But, Lila's thievery grew larger and larger. She began to lie more, steal more often, and she began to develop her thievery style. Lila met the band of thieves by accident. She had been in the middle of a small job when she had run into what she needed. People to help her and people for her to help. It was what Lila needed, as her own style was limited to small thefts and she was inn able to steal anything of large worth. Personality Traits -Calm -Discreet -Precise -Loyal -Deceptive
Tools/Equipment - Makeup kits, and clothes - Knives -Lighter
Appearance: Starting with his face, he has a strong jaw line, fair skin, blue eyes, long shaggy blonde hair that ends about the middle of his ears and is combed to the side in front so as to not block his vision.
His clothing/gear: He typically wears large blue jean jackets, blue jeans, a white T-shirt that goes underneath the jean jacket, black running shoes with white laces, different socks depending on what he feels like and of course undergarments.
Speciality: General Information or Secret Stealing, but he prefers Identity Theft.
Background: His family was an average one, his father an electrical repairman, his mother a stay at home mom who looked after his older brother and sister and himself because of his father's long hours. Rand was kind of thankful for all of the nice things he got as a child, really nice varnished toy wooden cars to play around with, whatever kind of clothes he wanted, the type of stuff the typical kid wouldn't have.
On the other hand, though the typical kid got to play around with his father, and he didn't. As soon as his father would come home from work, the man would put his stuff away and then proceed to teach/lecture Rand about his job and how to do it. So from an early age Rand got a great understanding of how electrical objects operated and how to fix them if they ever malfunctioned.
While he was growing up he also had to attend school. It was boring, really boring, but he persevered and got good grades until his later teens, which ironically you'd think he'd have tried harder then because it was his last few years of school, but that is not what happened.
It all happened one summer having finished school for said year, he heard of a job in security, and applied for it. Within two days he had an interview and the day after that got the job.
At first the job was great, it had a lot of responsibility and a lot of information at his fingertips as his job was actually in the back monitoring cameras, adjusting cameras to see what was going around inside the building, carrying recording devices and/or camera's hidden on his own person if the camera's in the back failed to record information of what was going on as well as lockpicks, he had to use a time or two when suspect tried to change the locks on him.
Eventually though he got sick of watching people. Why? Because it was in a school... Monitoring kids, and why? Because apparently there were rumors about these kids doing illegal things... But he had the job for a year and he scoured the place up and down for this illegal activity, and there was none. He was sure of it.
So one day he decided to strike back at this company that continually monitored people who were innocent. When all the bosses were on breaks he cut the power to the security businesses control room, locked the bosses in their break room, and as a last kick in their face he took all their 'confidential files' and burned them.
As he left the place he decided to find a worthwhile use for his talents, and that is how he came across the band of thieves and in a short space of time, joined them.
Personality traits: Talkative, Clever, Sneaky, Acts on his emotions.
Tools/equipment: Wire cutters, electrical parts for repairs, a variety of recording devices, lock picks, a flash light, electrical tape, extra electrical wires, a compass.
Appearance: She also wears a flint and steel on a strap round her neck, tucked into her clothes so it cant be seen. She does not have the fairly random animal ear I only noticed after I had started building her based round the picture. Basically she looks normal, like your average person on the street.
Speciality: Luck is amazingly proficient at getting into pretty much anywhere. She has an eye for seeing other ways to get in to places. Along with a rather bad habit of filching things. Her favorite route to get anywhere is via rooftops, as well as other places most people don’t look. She is quite adept at climbing. Luck doesn’t have quick fingers, rather she is the sort who can steal stuff when no one’s looking, (even better when they’re not around), and manages to pull off breaking and entering with “effortless” ease, but couldn’t nick a single penny from a crowded marketplace; even with a partner distracting people. Her talents lie in getting in and out of places, along with beating up anyone who disagrees with her being there. A bit of a brawler, she has been known to get herself into fist fights occasionally. She’s not exceptionally strong, but she is fast, hit them first is always the best option in her opinion: whether it be literally hitting them, or figuratively. Her other specialty is being ordinary, plain, unnoticeable; in short; she is forgettable, at first glance anyway.
Background: Daughter of a blacksmith, Luck’s family were never out of work or poor, they simply just didn’t have any spare money for her. Hence why she started stealing. She was however sent to school, at least until she started skiving off. She hated being cooped up inside listening to someone drone on and on when she could be out there doing; well whatever she liked. So she started skipping school, finding other ways to fill up her days. One of her favorite tricks she learned was, as she called it; roof running. Utilizing the closely packed buildings in that section of the town, Luck could get from pillar to post without ever needing to drop down to the dingy alleys below. (Okay not all alleys were dingy, and they weren’t all alleys, but please stop interrupting a good story :) ) As it was the streets had always been a problem for Luck as she was claustrophobic, leaving her often panicking when caught in a tight space.
Her dad had taught her how to fight, or the basics at least; he reckoned no girl should be walking round undefended. Having decided she liked the thrill and rush of fighting, Luck would sneak up and watch others fight, trying to learn more before she herself jumped in the deep end.
After a while Luck started fighting, losing as many or more than she won. Slowly but surely she got better at fighting, and stealing, coming out of either venture successful more often than not.
Somewhere along the way though she got herself in a spot of trouble, at a similar time and place to a couple of guys from the band of thieves, doing the awesome escaping together gig, although it was really nothing more than severing a rope of two and dashing off down the alley, and then over a few roofs, Luck had found them a path up to the roof, and somehow ended up a part of the team.
She still has a home and family, although she rarely if ever visits; she isn't sure if anyone's able to find her or her family and link them, she doesn't want to lead anyone to her parents, even though she hasn't lived with them for many years, she still doesn't want, or need them dragged into her life. The opposite is also true, if they are being watched she doesn't want to be found. Of course that is for the most part grossly over exaggerating, Luck isn't a big enough threat to warrant anyone anywhere near her parents, but she's just playing it safe, an interesting concept for a fairly reckless girl like her.
Personality traits:
Loyal to a fault, if only for a few people
Claustrophobic
Insomniac
Reckless
Shiny things easily catch her attention.
Little bit of an adrenalin junkie
Food is rather high on her list of priorities
Fluffy things and food are a sure way to win her over
Has a fairly startling love of fire, could almost be considered a pyromaniac
She strongly believes in hitting them first, and hitting them fast.
Tools/equipment:
Lock pick kit
Multi tool
A pair of knuckledusters
Her interesting knuckleduster knives if she is feeling particularly destructive
A normal knife or two for normal knife things
Her flint and steel that permanently hangs round her neck
A lenegth of Paracord
A couple of bandages (aka clean rolled up strips of stretchy cloth)
A pouch-full of thistle down, (tinder if ever she needs a fire)
She'll sometimes bring other things that are needed for the specific task at hand.
Other: As her name implies, Luck has insane amounts of luck; this however is not always a good thing as she doesn’t just have good luck, but also bad luck as well. Basically it means that for Luck most things can go exceedingly well, or exceedingly bad, there's not much middle ground when her luck drops by for a visit.
When bored or nervous Luck has a habit of fiddling with her multi tool, opening and closing it excessively. (She always has it with her.)
A hint for others safety? Don't ever try stuffing her in a skirt or dress. Just saying.
……of sorts. Firstly the Alias came from here steampunk name generator I selected the use my name choice, and entered Luck Ashton. She is apparently Air Commodore Adeline Ayresleigh-Cruickshanks, or Midshipman Reuben Ayresleigh-Cruickshanks if I set it to boy. :)
Secondly I have no experience whatsoever with 'roof-running', lock-picking, or really any of the thief aspects. Most of this comes from the really basic physics that I actually can grasp, and of course, from books/movies. :) Sooo…… if you actually know any of this, how it works I mean, feel free to correct me if I go wrong. :)
Also just a forewarning, I apparently love smiley faces, so be prepared to see lots in most Ooc posts I make. :)
Speciality: Sticky Fingers- Maggie is an amazing pickpocet and item lifter and placer. You want something taken from somewhere without being seen, Maggie is at the top of the list of thieves that can do that. Getting to that place, however, may be a problem. If it's locked, it's going to take a lot longer to find the owner of the house and lift the key, eventually 'giving' the key back (usually in a 'excuse me, sir/madam. I believe your key dropped from your pocket' way).
Background: Maggie has been a loner for a while. Her parents did their best, but struggled to make ends meet. Maggie started begging for money, but found that obtaining the money was a lot easier when it could be picked up from a pocket. Usually the richer people will stop to say how such a pretty face shouldn't be begging. Along with some reference to the local whore house, to which Maggie would never degrade herself to such level. She still sends her parents money on a regular basis, but her parents have had it easier after she left for her 'job' she got at a factory at the age of 12. What really happened was that Maggie found people who would just take stuff and sell it back to the owner or the black market, which wasn't too hard to find. After a while, Maggie was stealing professionally. She had gotten the connections needed to sell anything she needed to. Though, she's needed help getting in places, so she's had to partner up with several different people to help get into a place. These people have over time have become regular partners and have more or less banded together.
Personality traits:
Cheerful
Optimistic
Helpful
When on a mission: silent unless necessary to make a noise
Tools/equipment: Dark cloak, small dagger, and satchel. Anything else Maggie needs, she finds on someone else's person.
Other: She may take an ally's tool/item without asking when she needs to use it. Just the whole 'sticky fingers' habit. She doesn't mean anything malicious by it, it's just quicker and quieter than asking and having it handed.
Specialty: Researcher and Analyst: Cooper focuses on researching and analyzing artifacts, people, and locations. Rather than going out and gathering the objects himself, he finds the holes in security there might be, the layout of a location, and what sort of defenses might be put up.
Background: As a young boy, Cooper had a fascination with learning and reading the personalities of others. He read to his heart's content, and enjoyed exploring the back alleys of his home town to find what was hidden. Over time, he grew more adventurous, finding old builder's plans and exploring the underground sewers that held the old ruins the town was built on.
As he grew and became older, he worked for construction companies building new structures, and often times he'd install his own secret rooms that no one had a hope of discovering. But, two years ago, there was an unfortunate incident involving one of Cooper's secret rooms, 20 pounds of lard, a large mastiff and a spoon. Following this incident, there was an investigation of Cooper and his previous plans, and his secret was out. He is now banned from all builder's organisations and construction sites.
And so he turned to thievery to feed himself. He found talking to drunkards in taverns could provide plenty of food (even though they were leftovers) and that with some quick thinking and clever words, he could find the latest news on different buildings and the renovations they were undergoing.
He spent several days closely observing a particularly interesting and high value building, and he planned on robbing it. But, the night of his final observations, he noticed a group of thieves break in themselves. He waited for them to exit, and then followed them. After a tense few minutes of explaining who he was and what he wanted, he was let into the group to help plan out the thieving runs.
Tools/Equipment: Collection of Tomes and Books Binoculars Pencil and Paper, for note taking Maps, deeds, and signatures when he can get a hold of them A keen mind Strong alcohol, with or without a liquid to heavily intoxicate
Other: Generally prefers to not go on the actual jobs to steal, but rather go ahead of time to observe and plan Gets very flustered when he's called out (part of why he got into so much trouble and was kicked from his job) Takes very detailed notes. As in, the appearance of a guard, the time he started and stopped his shift, how attentive he generally was, and when he takes a shift.
