Megumi got up and helped Bane up, leading them inside and set Bane at the table. "You guys go ahead and eat, I'm not very hungry..." She turned and headed down the hallway, wanting to lay down for a while. Bane looked at James, wondering what was going between the pair.
"She has a lot to think about...I think it's best if we don't bother her. Just let her think about it...we got some information that apparently there are some secrets she'll find out if we go to the Land of Snow, and since our current mission is to help her, then we'll be going if she decides to."
Bane looked at him and said "The land of Snow? Like where its cold? I did not pack for that...if we do go we will have to get a lot of planning worked out. I don't want to risk taking Megumi on a public ship..."
James chuckled. "We can always get ourselves a private ship travel there, remember? Your dad did leave you a bank account of your own, and it's loaded. I don't think he'll mind if you need to use some of it for a mission. I also keep a good sum of money on me in one of the seals on my arms just in case. So I think we'll be good."
Bane nodded, his mouth full of food. "But what if Megumi doesn't want to go? What do we do then? Or if she wants to go alone? I mean, no offense but we haven't been much help to her here"
James gave Bane a blank look. "I'm not gonna let her go alone, no matter what she says. And if she decides not to go, then we'll just have to go along with whatever she decides. But if she does go, I'm going with her. I told her I would help her, and that's what I intend to do."
Bane looked at him, a fork almost to his mouth. "I don't believe it...you're falling for her, aren't you?"
MEgumi laid down on the bed in the spare room, unable to use the room she used to share with her father. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to relax
James shrugged. "Not sure. I wouldn't know what that feels like. But you know how I am when I say I'm gonna help someone. Like when we were fresh genin and a few of those Uchiha and Hyuuga jackasses were picking on you." He grinned. "I still remember their faces when they woke up to pink hair, crap brown bedroom walls and a full wardrobe of bright orange jumpsuits."
Bane smiled and leaned back, laughing. "those were good times...sometimes I wish we could go back to those days...things were easier back then you know? Mom was still alive back then..." He sighed, a sad smile on his lips.
"Yeah...I know...heh...and that was also when I was known as the Prankmaster from Hell." He let out a chuckle. "I even managed to plant flash tags in they Hyuuga compound. I still don't know how a clan with 'all-seeing eyes' couldn't find me."
Bane chuckled and then sighed. "Things are a lot harder now aren't they...no one should have to watch their parent die in front for their eyes..." Bane looked down, thinking of his mother. Both boys knew what Megumi was going thru, they had lost people close to them as well. Bane suddenly said "Tomorrow we should try to cheer her up"
"Yeah...we should. I'm actually kinda hoping we do go to the Village Hidden in the Snow. I have a bone to pick with their daimyo for interfering during my vacation a few years back. I may just have to start up my pranking sprees again." He got a grin on his face, just like the ones he used to get as a kid. It promised humiliation in the worst way possible...
Bane laughed out loud and said "Coming from you, that's funny. Naw, I'm not scared. I do better in the cold then you do, Mr. Sage" He moved to the couch and laid down. "We better keep watch tonight, just to be safe"
"Nah. We don't need to keep watch." He formed three shadow clones without bothering to do the hand seals, then sent them to keep watch. "After all, Shadow Clones send information back to the creator when they dispel. So if they die or dispel themselves, I'll know."
James chuckled before going to keep watch with his clones. He wasn't tired right now, despite the fact that even those with high-jounin level reserves can barely make 4 clones without being exhausted.
