basically I want to run a roleplay based off of the dungeons and dragons storyline Hoard of The Dragon Queen. Our characters would will fight off soldiers and mages of an evil cult seeking to raise the evil dragon god Tiamat from the nine hells and rule the world. Our heroes will on a quest to stop them before they annihilate everything in their path and see their twisted plans come true.

is anyone interested?

There is a downloadable version of the adventure on the wizards of the coast website.

The story takes place in forgotten realms and we will use classes that are featured in fifth edition

thanks lol.

Fifth edition from what i have heard from experienced d&d players is a little like 3.5, but more streamlined and new player friendly. I've only played 5e and I love it. This rp will be pretty combat oriented.

Actually 5th edition takes from all forms of D&D, from 2nd to 4th.
I have played 2nd all my life, then ventured into 4th for a short while.
Now i play 5th and only 5th, because it is so simple and fun to play.
I would be down to play as well, but my access to the internet isn't everyday, more like every 2 or 3 weeks at best.

also, do you plan on using character sheets ? or just gonna go simple basic like

We're going to be using basic guild character sheet, nothing too special.

Just asking a question, what is allowed? Is it straight vanilla WOTC rules or are homebrew/Unearthed Arcana allowed?


We will be using 5e material and role-playing will use the normal post based system just no being op

Yeah, but are we only using the material officially made by WOTC (Player's handbook, DM's Guide) or are we also allowing the stuff mentioned in Unearthed Arcana (Warforged, Minotaurs, Mystics, etc.) and homebrews?

Just the players' and the material in Hoard of the Dragon Queen.

I never got around to ever playing D&D (I've played Champions, but not D&D) or any of it's adventures--but I've always been interested in doing so. Plus this adventure does sound pretty sweet. I'll see if my comic store can teach me how to play or if I can google a quick guide on how to play D&D's Fifth Edition. But yeah, I'm totally interested as well.
