Umbrix

Umbrix turned, eyeing the babbling Crompter. He approached the old mage, leaned forward, and held up one of his long, dark fingers up to his teeth. After a moment, Crompter ceased his volley. Umbrix stood upright again and looked to the table.

"I did not come here for you." He said, looking to Seadus. "I did not come here for your pursuits. I don't care if your clairvoyance saw my arrival long beforehand or if it sees my cooperation long after, I... came here for myself, and my House." He scanned the table a bit more and continued, "This gathering of yours? This project? It is very grandiose and very dangerous. I have no doubt in my mind it will bring about some unwanted attention from the mundane forces outside and, I'm not interested in becoming a soldier in an army."

He stepped away a few paces.

"You have all your own whim to play this game and I will not interfere with your efforts, but I came here of my own volition. Once I have what I desire, I am leaving."

He paused for a moment, and then turned and left for the door once again.

When the Goblin entered the room Matuna was more than a bit surprised, after all he knew just enough about Mysticism to have heard about the renown White Goblin. And while this guy wasn't white but in fact pretty dark skinned there was little doubt in the Troll's mind about his identity. After all as far as he knew the White Goblin was the only Seer to replace his nonexistent eyes with Seeing-stones.

When Matuna sat down in one of the chairs the silver discolored until it looked cheap and simple, however underneath its new appearance it was still the same metal as before, which might become obvious if someone just payed enough attention to it. He hadn't said anything for a while after the Prince's revelation and simply pretended like he was watching the reaction the others were having. In reality though he was thinking things over "Immortality huh? Life would no doubt get boring without danger but I might actually find something to help my people in this place.

Before speaking Matuna though over his word choice he would of course have to avoid long words, but using obscure ones might betray his intelligence too soon; not that he believed he would manage to fool everyone present for long anyway. "Prince, what you just said sounds great, I'm with you."

Am I an idiot? Vlantian hated the question.

His previous reasoning began to fall apart. How could they possibly find immortality? Users of greater seniority and more civilized magic have failed. His grandfather had even tried it himself. The Primus obviously wasn't around. A rag-tag group of what were considered 'great' by modern standards were highly unlikely to even come close to the progress of those that were better.

Why sabatoge this? They'll sabatoge themselves...

Standing up, Vlantian slowly walked out of the room, towards his own chamber. Why stay with this nonsence?

"More people leave and the more desperate we get..."

Alrin thought worriedly to himself as he watched another leave he clenched his chair a bit and then looked over at everyone left over and then looked taboo they had: Crompter (Alrin thought), Matuna (Maybe) and a White Goblin.

"Seems fair enough..."

Alrin looked over at Lord Seadus and asked.

@Hael

"Uh excuse me my Lord,"

Alrin cleared his throat and continued.

"But what do we do next to help you?"

Alrin asked with anticipation and a hint of impatience in his voice only faint enough for anyone who was completely paying attention, and Alrin was actually wanting to know what they were to do next for this quest for Immortality.

In Alrin's eyes this was a sad, sad meeting that ended in failure and people just kept turning their backs to this chance and he had no idea why they would except to plunder Lord Seadus's library's for ancient texts.

Alrin sighed, then looked to Lord Seadus who just sat silently and he decided that he must that this had not been what he expected in the years that he had taken in his journeys up to this point to have such a large group gather only to depart again.

Alrin stood and looked at the old wizard lord and gave him a weak smile.

"I am sorry my lord but what is a party when it's guests leave I will still be here and if you want my help on this fantastic quest of yours
I will help you I just need some time to myself now because I traveled all this way only to see many leave so call me to your quarters again if you need me"

With that Alrin turned his robes billowing behind him as he exited the grand little room that was lavishly furnished.

He made his way for the library to look for any evidence of other texts that were written by Primus which probably were hidden around the tower or maybe buried with him, he wondered what would happen to this band of wizards and witches, maybe even sorcerers and warlocks.

But for now he was concerned with searching the tower of clues and going on his own search for this 'Immortality' that Seadus spoke of and Primus hinted of so he decided to begin his search in the library.
