I think it's a good time to launch the IC, Fearless Leader.

Seth Broderick

Gender: Male

Equipment:

Clothes: One hooded winter coat, woolen, starting to fray; one brown flannel shirt, faded and thin; one ratty white t-shirt; one pair of glasses (near-sighted); one pair of old jeans; and one pair of hiking boots with thermal socks, threadbare

Supplies: One Zippo-style lighter, silver, nearly empty; one pack of cigarettes with only 4 remaining; one pocket knife, switchblade, nearly dull; one pocket sized journal with nearly dry pen, detailing the events before and during the ice age, some pages are missing while others have been replaced with random scraps and tree bark.

Skills:
Writing: Seth has been detailing his experiences in a notebook so future generations can find and learn from it.

Negotiation: Seth was formerly on his school's debate team before the storm hit. He can speak clearly and smoothly to calm a raging crowd or negotiate with leaders on behalf of the group or certain members. More often than not, he takes the role of Devil's Advocate in these situations.

Personality: Seth could be described as charismatic. He speaks softly but smoothly, not wanting to rile feathers or cause a ruckus. He rises to a cause only when needed as he often sees the merits of both sides of any argument. He is no leader, preferring to follow someone more capable than he is. That is not to say that he follows blindly though. If he does not understand a decision or choice, he is not afraid to ask questions and learn from his superiors on why certain choices are correct even when they seem wrong. He is observant in sometimes the worst ways though he keeps his theories and judgements to himself for the most part, writing them in his journal or simply locking them away to never ponder them again.

History:

Pre-Ice Age: Seth grew up in a small town in the US, leading a relatively normal live. He was high ranking in his class in high school and was a major player in the debate circuit both in high school and college. He went to a small university in his hometown and graduated with multiple honors. After graduation, Seth went on a year long soul searching journey while backpacking through Europe. He felt that with how little excitement he had early in life, he might as well look for excitement himself and hope he didn't find himself in trouble.

Ice Age: His backpack was stolen after he fell asleep on a train traveling through Germany. When he awoke, the weather was much different than he was expecting for Berlin. After using the last of his cash to buy a winter coat and a pack of cigarettes, he worked a few odd jobs around the city so he could have food and shelter as the nights grew colder. By the time the Ice Age arrived, he was hopping from small hunting group to small hunting group, trying desperately to learn basic skills to survive. One cold morning, Seth woke up to finding the scouting party he was with had left without him in the middle of the night. Accustomed to this, he brushed the snow off his jacket and made another note in his journal. He started roaming the landscape to hopefully find either another group to join or a bit of food to hold him until he could find some more shelter. Luckily he found a small group of travelers and asked to join their ranks as he had nowhere else to turn.
