Looks good, my man. To the Mikasa and Amazonians your time in the spotlight will come. No doubt between 1850-1880 when the colonization attempts really begin to pick up.

I believe I will add to the "Colonization" actions the ability to "Claim Land," which means your nation has a claim on it, but doesn't really own it. This will lead to some cool border tensions, I think. Wee.

Okay get IC so I can post this update. No rush, of course but I'm ready when you all are. :D

And I'm going to make the Western Sides map look a bit better, I think. Add some flavor, more mountains and rivers.

Also might need to make it so when you "Construct a Ship" you have to lay it down and build it, instead of receiving it instantly. Otherwise in a big naval battle people might just spend a few months building it back.

@Theodorable I just figured because I was late to the party etc etc that I would post as if some plans were already underway, if you follow? I do of course realize things take time :)

Cheers for the quick response.

I approached my ship building this way; Orderin januari, receive in februari (next turn).

But maybe add a build time for ships. Two turns for 3th rates, 3 for second rates, 4 for fist rates.

Surprised to see so much conservative player, the earlier comment that the Great Powers are simply seeking to maintain Great Power status may be correct.

There are two Regional Powers that are on the cusp of taking one of the Great Powers spots though. Could easily be done by 1840, if either of those two nations played their cards right.

<Snipped quote by Theodorable>

It only delays the inevitable. People will pussy out from actually going to war, because they remember all the risk games where the first person to act was always the first to die, so they'll keep building factories and increasing their population, so their force limit will increase, and then have a naval arms race that way.

I fear this may be coming true. HMM.

HEY LOOK A PREVIEW OF THE UPCOMING SUMMER 1836 UPDATE. Yay for Braiyusal.

But who would that great power be?

The Sanguine Empire, Braiyusal, Anvegad, Vitannia or Oslad. :D NPC's will never become Great Powers.

Yay \O/

Edit:
Just to make things interesting I’m going to let other nations support a specific senator of their choosing or basically fund them. (up to two, just PM me their name). This will increase their chance of being elected in the government, as well as them becoming more favorable towards your nation politically. (If Theo allows it of course)

Sounds good to me, sir.

Those two new colors on the Braiyusal Expedition map are new Western Sides native factions. As Old World nations explore, new factions and resources will be revealed. Are they hostile? Are they friendly? Will the Braiyusal's return alive?!

Some of you have some very important Private Messages. :D

I know. I did not continue on the amazonian story line yet to give them room to respond to me raiding their coast. If this night does not bring a post from them then I proceed to the next phase. My fleet will return to port and inform the high command. Proper response to the involved parties will be decided in my next post :)
