Appearance:

Her human form always seems to have far to much green tint to it, usually it is the hair and lips, so she tries to break it up with garnish colours in her clothing. Her hair is always long with light curls that sometimes move about when she is in distress. Around 37 years ago pair of young lovers carved their initials into her bark with a heart around it, this is always present on her left side regardless of her form.

Her tree form, immobile and ever watching.

Personality:
Dal is a slow thinker, she won't make sudden decisions or rash actions. In a fight she'll be the one at the back watching everything before doing making a move. It will take a long time to make friends with her (and same if your her enemy) but once done, your that for life and it will be almost impossible for her to change her mind over anything once she has decided something.

Abilities/Skills:
Slow Regeneration: Her injuries will heal over time, so long as she gets plenty of water, sunligh and mulch.
Anaerobic Exercise: She can effectively function withour breathing for a prolonged ammount of time, it is uncomfortable and makes her molt if over 30 mins.
Strong: Nearly 300 years old, all that good living has made for some very strong roots and bark.
Weaknesses:
Fire: Though as a living tree she will burn with very heavy smoke, any fire damage will not heal.
Lightning/Electric: Small ammounts will hurt immensely, one lightning bolt will kill her outright.
Water: She needs daily doses of water to stay alive, after a day or two she will start to wilt.

Brief history/background:
Sevenoakes was that until 4 of the great trees came down in a storm like no other. There was a storm, but that wasn't what destroyed the trees. One was Dal, she watched that night with her family when the van pulled up with strange equipement and cable and strapped them to (the closest term would be father in human conparisons) and the four people, all clad in dark clothes, started taking readings and probing the great tree.

As the storm build up in the early hours, one of them climbed up the great oak and added long metal poles to the cables. That was when in horror the storm fully struck and lightning completely the old oak.

In the blast of electrity and flying wood, Dal and her two (again the closest term would be siblings) fellow trees, transformed and fled. She has no idea where Tuxemondeimus and Galframadium have gone or if they are still alive, but all three of them left a little part of themselves in that ruin leaving just the three remaining trees standing.

Dal has never been back since to visit the remaining trees, but she hopes to one day find those responsible.
Anything else:
Salt Water: unsure wether to add this as a weakness or leave it as a special case. My idea is have it act a little like alcohol, though in Dal's case she will probably start acting psychotic.
Taking Roots: She is nearly 300, in almost eevry case the treants will take root hardly ever moving again. She does want to settle down but needs to find a safe location first. The only thing keeping her wandering is her search for the tree killers.

Name: Séamus ó Dálaigh

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Species: Werewolf

Appearance:

Personality: Séamus has a very short temper. He will easily launch himself at someone if they make him angry, and he usually has no remorse. He also doesn't show much emotion. He doesn't like werewolves from other packs, but can get along with them after enough time, and with enough cooperation. Séamus likes to be the alpha wolf, but knows that his violence can be too much sometimes, even for an alpha wolf. Séamus doesn't mind other species, as he doesn't feel that they post a threat to him.

Abilities/Skills: Séamus is stronger than most men, and at six foot eight, he most men only come up to his shoulders. He uses this to his advantage, to intimidate them, but he doesn't need to. In his human form, he could easily knock out the average male in a few punches, and in his canine form, he could rip them to shreds - literally. He transforms into his canine form every full moon, and can transform into it at will on other days and nights, also.

Weaknesses: Like all werewolves, Séamus is weak to silver.

Brief history/background: Séamus was born into the Irish werewolf pack in the countryside near London. He grew up with five brothers and three sisters, all with whom he fought with. Séamus was the third oldest boy, and the fifth oldest altogether. Séamus was a farmer on his family's land, and grew the strength to do this, and combined with fighting with his siblings, became strong. When he was 19, he moved to London, fed up with being looked down upon by his father and older brothers. He continued to go tot the gym in order to keep in shape.

I've been interested for a while, but this is the first post I've made to show it. I spent all this time trying to sketch my character, so it's still, unfortunately, unfinished! D:

Appearance:
 (I will put a picture here once I finish it) Adam has shoulder-length wavy red hair with many layers so it always looks a bit unkempt. His green eyes are usually hooded behind blond eyelashes and his mouth seems to rest in a perpetual smirk.
Personality:
 Adam is a trickster who loves to flirt and have a good time. He takes pleasure in the hunt, preferring to stalk his victims for a while to make them paranoid, but hardly ever kills within the city just in case it could be traced back to him. Other than that, he acts like your typical smug punk who can hold way more alcohol than a normal person should be able to.
Abilities/Skills:
 He possesses supernatural strength, speed, and senses. Using his voice and gaze, he can mildly influence the actions of a human, but could never get them to do something that would go against their morals (can’t make someone murder, steal, or eat meat if they’re vegan). He likes to use this ability frequently when preying upon humans to either make them forget they were fed upon or simply put them to sleep.
Weaknesses:
 The sunlight hinders his ability to use his powers to their fullest and attempts to persuade humans in the sunlight often fail. Powers of persuasion rarely work on other supernatural beings. Religious symbols when wielded by one who holds a sincere belief in that symbol can burn his skin. Also, he cannot enter someone’s place of living without being invited in.
Driving a stake through his heart would completely paralyze him, though it wouldn’t be deadly. Beheading or complete destruction of his body in any way would effectively banish him from existence in a pile of ash. If he spends a grossly long period of time without having any blood, he would surely wither away into nothing.
Also, he’s super grossed out by maggots.
Brief history/background:
 Adam was turned into a vampire in Boston, Massachusetts in 1878 by a vampire who promptly abandoned him. Very little of his life as a human can be remembered, but when he was first turned, he was a menace to Boston, feeding on whomever he pleased whenever he pleased, much to the chagrin of the older vampire society around the city at that time. Without a mentor, he was forced by his own reckless behavior to move around various cities for many years but was eventually taken under the wing of an older vampire who showed him how to live in a more discreet fashion while still enjoying life's pleasures.
Adam traveled away from his mentor to London at the turn of the 21st century, confident in his ability to live on his own in human society without being caught. He’s still causing a bit of mayhem every now and then, though.

 He’s pansexual.

So I noticed that quite a few abilities pertain to illusions and manipulation of will. Should I quantify the extent of Amam's power, or should I leave it undefined?

I left it undefined for flexibility and  story reasons, but since so many people have mind-affecting magic and enhanced strength/physical abilities, should I define my character's abilities clearly?

I'm asking myself the same question and I didn't make quantifying statements about Vaughtar for the same reason. I'd feel fine with the idea of specifying more precisely together - if you want ofc.

Additionally, one thing I can offer to everyone who feels uncomfortable with the current situation is to moderately shift Vaughtars focus. In fact, the character is based on a concept I used a long time ago (in another forum and a RP that never really took off) and there is an aspect I haven't introduced in Vaughtars first sketch since I was afraid of overpowering him. It would be some kind of nonlethal, delayed, but pretty insidious dampening magic.

All of these considerations do, ofc, daringly assume that the base concept itself will be able to receive the GM's "OK"-stamp one day ;)

Name: Steffan Gilbert III
Age: 19

Species: Human (medium)
Appearance:
Personality: He is completely insane to the average person meeting him. As well as being very easily distracted, his attention span can be measured in nano-seconds (see abilites.) He is very quiet when speaking but always seems to be talking to himself. Jittery with his gaze constantly roving in all and any direction.

Abilities/Skills:
Dead Speaker: Any spirits that are about can talk and understand Stefan. This is constantly "on" and makes for a nightmare if anybody is trying to communicate with him.
Dead Friendly: His entourage have been around for all his his life (some more recently) but they all realise that without Steffan about they can't communicate to the world at large. That said they mostly keep their voices low when he sleeps (even doing their best to keep other spirits away) and are very loud to wake him if there is trouble.
Dead Sight: Literally he can see people. The spirits he speaks to have a non-corperal form he can view. Usually they are dressed in whatever atire they had at time of death.

Weaknesses:
Speak Dead: He is always talking to the dead and any conversation will involve them, making him seem to constantly talk himself.
Friendly Dead: Word quickly spreads when Steffan moves about, the dead seem to want to have their say to Steffan wether he wants it or not.
See Dead: Everytime he speaks to the dead, he will look at them or even turn to face them
Graveyards: it's not that he fears churches of any type, it's just where they lay the dead to rest. The number of spirits present simply overwhelm him, it's so bad bad he fears to go near burial sites.

Brief history/background: Born into a wealthy family, he ability to speak to the dead and see them came at birth. He isn't even sure if it's a gift, a curse or just something that happens every generation or two. His parents took steps when his "imaginary friends" refused to go away. They disowned him, put him up for adoption and adopted another to take his place. his life was hard, always passed around as a problem child and eventually just life home. The few places of employment he had did not last long, and the lack of cash in the end made him homeless. He has a few friends that stick him, the only ones that actually breath are Ben and Phil, two homeless drunks that at least give him some comfort.

A number of spirits are always in his entourage. these restless dead have not found peace as yet.
Bloody Mary: She doesn't remember her real name, burnt as a witch in 1487, she seems to be a schizophrentic.
Tony: Sadly this homeless drunk passed away six months ago, he still doesn't realise he is dead yet.
Steffan Gilbert II: His grandfather, passed away 18 years ago.
Anything else: Every post this character will do will have a hider text at the end. This will show the real conversation Steffan has with any spirits around him.

Really sorry, I've been away doing family stuff (that's public holidays for you) and snatching time online when I could. 

Anyway, back now, so –
@RaeoftheLight, @Fetzen, @Tombprince, @TheIrishJJ and @yoyohayli. All your characters are fine even if I think one of you is a disturbed person who likes torturing his characters ([cough] Tombprince [cough]) and I now really want to fit giant maggots into this somewhere. 

Just a few points about the others:

@fringedWolf fine, but I just thought I should flag up a warning about the UK's gun laws - anyone hoping to get a gun legally has to go through a *lot* of security checks (I assume his background would presumably cover that) and it is not acceptable for a civilian to carry a gun anywhere; draw a gun in public, and the police will be on you like white on rice.

@Will Reiley is okay, but I'm a little cautious about Yorrick who seems a little too powerful. I'd like his ability to push people through portals reduced so all non-humans have to be physically forced through portals and they all have a chance to resist otherwise it's getting a bit too close to godmodding for me to feel comfortable with.

@Queentze I'd like to see a limit on Lar's curse abilities - I assume that after a while the curse will wear off? Again the idea of characters being stuck somewhere/having their heads permanently messed with is too much like godmodding for me to feel relaxed about it. I'm sorry if I seem to be going on about this, but I've seen other RPs fall apart because of things like this.

And since Athinar and Fetzen asked, I'm happy for powers to remain vague (since I agree with you about flexibility and story reasons) so long as the 'no godmodding' rule is adhered to (although if you've spoken to the other guy through PM and you're happy to go though some sort of mindslave plot purely for the fun of it, then by all means go for it). 

And yes, I'm aware giving the limits I've specified on other characters I'm a hypocrite. Sorry.

I'm going to keep this up for another 24 hours or so to give myself time to get a character or two up (they'll be fairly background characters I imagine) and try getting an IC up.

If I've forgotten anything, give me a shout.

Wow, can't believe I completely blanked on the gun laws there. Now that I've given it some thought I would like him to be a little more Black Market, for those in or in the know of the supernatural community, since its all about Enchanting the weapons. That way the Police could be an extra issue to deal with for my character, why not throw as much crap my way as possible right?

I also don't think my character would carry a gun around with him everywhere, only when he thinks he might be in danger or about to do something dangerous.

Torturing your own characters is fun! Soo... if you should ever run out of giant maggots, how about.. erm.. whatever my character doesn't like. 'Breaking news' and police choppers (or even choppers with assassins on board ?) for example, or prolonged stay in tiny rooms, or the necessity to transform outside and then waking up half a day later with some... white substance produced by a certain species of birds that is present especially in large cities - let's leave it at that - on his head.

Btw. @shaitarn: Having actually re-read the original concept of Vaughtar instead of only remembering it, I noticed that I've forgotten a important piece of the puzzle: Improved eyesight, including night vision. Without that he would be pretty blindfolded during his preferred time of the day, especially at the higher altitudes he's forced to fly at in modern times I think. So if that doesn't blow up the balance, I'd like to add that to the CS. Sorry for that blunder on my side.

Another small question roaming around in my head is if I could legally assume that he has contact to some kind of local supernatural dealer for special needs like shoes, hats etc.. ? I don't think he can just pay a visit to the next shop and tell the salesperson to take the necessary measurements and to just ignore the things he wants to hide under the clothing he wants to buy.

It took me a while, but I (finally!) found a picture that's a rather good approximation to my imagination. Please ignore the glow in the eyes and the small tusks coming out of the mouth.

@FringedWolf Any player wanting to cause their character problems is fine by me! Hmm, perhaps the police could be investigating the homes of one of the dead supernaturals and find one of Ben's guns there and be curious as to what's been done to it. As for carrying a gun in public, just bear the risks in mind (now why are the words 'stop and search' echoing through my mind? >:))

@Fetzen Sure, nightvision makes sense and isn't a problem game balance-wise I don't think. @yoyohayli, if you want to assume Adam has night vision as well, then that's fine. And I imagine we can bring in a shopkeeper who's able to make clothes for the non-human; actually, one of my characters would be perfect for that!

@TheIrishJJ I forgot to ask: when Seamus shifts back from wolf to human, is he wearing the clothing he had on when he first shifted, or does he come back naked?

Personality: Sven is a happy go lucky kind of person. He loves to play with others and often even acts like a dog when around others. He has been known to sprout ears when he becomes extremely excited. The ear sprouting never happens in public for the most part, but when he’s alone with people he knows it has happened. Sven believes that everyone in the world exists to please him. When they don’t he see’s it as a challenge and keeps being around them until they find some way to make him happy. Often by watching them trip or fall on their face pleases him enough to leave them alone.
Underneath that happy exterior however is a rather conniving young man. He’s always gotten what he wants. Those who have seen him angry are either too traumatized to talk about it, or haven’t survived to escape him.
Abilities/Skills: Sven is extremely smart when it comes to hatching a plan. He is unmatched when it comes to coming up with tactical maneuvers. He is also rather quick in his corgi form, along with having heightened senses. Due to his small size of being a corgi he is also extremely hard to catch.
Weaknesses: Silver, Belly rubs.
Brief history/background: Sven was born into a rather rich family of secret guards for the queen. As of late they have not been used as much and as such have found themselves going into their own stock market business. Sven has helped out where he can but for the most part he has occupied himself with chasing women that he believes should belong to him.
At the age of 19 his parents called him out on his actions of chasing women around, Sven reacted by moving out and starting his own loan business, it has become known as “Loan Goblins.”  Sven runs his business quite successfully, and those that can’t afford to pay back the loans end up having to pay it off either by working for it at his own company, or selling their own home.
Anything else: He believes himself as the most adorable of the were creatures.

@Shaitarn Sorry about that. I never intended to make it seem like he had an op ability. I put a 3 min time limit on that power, and sort of a concentration limit, like if he cannot stay mentally focused or in a stable state the the curse is can be broken.

@shaitarn Well, he'd probably shuffle out of his clothes when he goes into his wolf form, or take them off just before. So probably naked. But if he forgot to take a sock off before he changed, and it stayed on his pay the whole time, and then changed back, the sock would still be on his foot. Basically if it doesn't go off somehow then it can stay on.

@Cuccoruler It'd be amazing if Sven was one of the Queen's corgis. Just saying.
