"Eryx, no hostiles. bunch of way too alert ODSTs just doing their jobs, fuck. did their jobs a bit to well you might say."she groaned. there was a small slit in a chink in her armour where the knife had been placed. it wasnt a deep wound but it still needed to be fixed ASAP to ensure that it didnt get worse over the course of the mission.

"We may need gu shot medical attention on that balcony, I calculated my trajectory for alien vitals, not humans. He may be alive." Eryx muttered, he was disappointed in himself. The bullets were so slow he could watch them yet he didn't notice they were conventional human firearms. Though enemys had picked them up on his last mission, it still made him drop his guard none the less. "Get the civilians out anyway, this is no place for them."

Satisfied the situation had calmed down enough, browning took a canteen of water from one of the ODSTs, pouring a little on Caseys cut to clean it. He grabbed a small canister of biofoam from their pack too.

Sitting Casey down, he placed a firm hand on her shoulder

I won't lie, this'll sting like a bitch, but it'll prevent an infection, which would be a problem for us.

He pushed against her shoulder, spraying the foam on, covering the shallow cut

"Aghhhhh FUCK!"Casey yelled out as the biofoam touched the site of the wound."Ugh you werent kidding about the sting eh? Agh, Eryx site is secure. get your ass up here." Casey attempted to sit up but her shoulder started screaming in pain as she attempted to put pressure on it. "Anyone got a spare side arm. I aint gonna be shooting a BR while my shoulders fucked." An ODST quickly took the Magnum from the trooper who had stabbed Casey and passed it too her. "Dont beat yourself up. You sensed a threat and took action to protect yourself and your squad. you did good, i aint gonna lie. this armour is a bitch to break through"

Eryx was confused for a moment at Casey's statement as he began to move away from the civilians to regroup."How did you graduate without learning to fire with your off hand? It's one of the first skills we learn. Or were you adopted into the program instead of raised a spartan?" He approached and looked at the wound, passing it off as an annoyance to the team. "Nevermind, just don't let it slow you down. ODST's, we need the coordinates of the last known Spartan IV armor location."

"I'm a Spartan by rank but a Helljumper by trade, Oohrah am i right?"she said as a resounding Oohrah by the ODSTs followed. "Sorry keep forgetting your a Gen 1 spartan like blue team. She stood up and began to make her way over to the window.

Meanwhile an ODST approached Eryx with a local map. "your spartans were last here. Capital building which should be just over... there" he said pointing to the Largest building in the city. "We had them marked on the top floor when we had to pull back"

Browning was about to join in the shout with the other ODST's, then became conscious of the ONI logo emblazoned upon his chest. A lot of helljumpers wouldn't understand. They weren't exactly fond of the "spooks" as they called them. He stepped up beside Casey

Browning looked back at Eryx and the ODST's map. Following the troopers line towards the not too distant building, he pinged Blackburn with his HUD feed

Blackburn looked at the building, carefully scanning for hostiles or other ODSTs. "Eh...readings coming back negative..." Blackburn knew there had to be something inside, though. "I think I might recon just to make sure." Blackburn added, wanting to make sure he wouldn't jeopardize the mission by slipping up with something simple as checking for hostiles or other ODSTs. Blackburn started to walk around, checking rooms for any life forces.

Pelican 1-9Fox was en route to the Ballast AO where Fireteam Quantum was hold up. Their call for civilian evac was answered with force as they carried a support asset, S-099, better known as Ty Winston. He belonged to the Fireteam Support Division, a cell dedicated to aiding the other teams. Commander Palmer sounded serious when she hinted that he might take up a more permanent position on the team which gave him the motivation to give his all. "Time to drop?" he asked over the comm, "2 minutes." a short and sweet reply from the pilot. The last transmission they received indicated that the AO was hot but this pilot was an ace and had decided long ago, they were landing. Once in range, Ty was able to tap the frequency of Quantum's comms. "This is Sierra Zero Nine Nine with your civilian evac. Do you have a clear LZ?" he said into the helmet as he stood up and moved to the back of the Pelican in preparation to dismount and potentially clear the area.

"I'm just catching a ride, my mission is to support Fireteam Quantum." He responded as they approached the building matching the sent coordinates. The pelican didn't land but instead hovered off to the side with the ramp just inches from the roof. Ty dismounted with his sniper rifle in hand. "Bring the civilians up, transport is ready."

"Fantastic, we'll keep adopting more pod babies." Eryx muttered to himself, nodding to the ODST when the location was confirmed and checking it on his map. "Coordinates are locked, there is some debris in the way but nothing we can't bypass unless there is resistance." He states while checking what little feed there was remaining. He took a moment to add this new support to his systems, bringing up a vital representation screen as he had for the rest of the squad. "Winston, S-099, support unit. Regroup with the rest of the fire team and be ready to move immediately, we aren't sticking around her any longer and wasting time."

"Eryx, can it. I understand your integration into Orion was fucked to shit, but fucking grow up. Us Helljumpers are just as qualified, if not more qualified to become spartans than a group of six year old recruits ever will be!" she yelled turning around and heading out the door. "Quantum, lets move. Those Spartans aint gonna wait till christmas for us to go rescue them. Troopers, provide cover fire until we get in the building got it?"

"You lack vital injections and training, adopted Spartans are far slower, weaker, and less disciplined." He states firmly, rearming himself as they exit the building. They're handed armor, barely knowing what to do with it and have to be retrained. Their minds and emotions make them have stupid decisions and morality leads to failed missions. ODST's are adopted to be cannon fodder for real Spartans. With chemically enhanced minds, bodies, and vastly superior training, it's literally impossible to beat a first generation Spartan unless you are one. Read up a little more on what a Spartan really is, child.

Spartan Eryx. Play nicely, please. I will be filing a report with ONICOM when this mission is finished, I'd hate to have to request a phsyche evaluation of your person.

It was a thinly veiled threat, but it should be effective. All the Spartan II's he'd met, at their very core, had a responsibility to be the best, to save them all. He guessed it came down to their years of training, subjected to a particular mindset in their formative years. He couldn't know for definite. He certainly didn't have access to THOSE files.

He clipped his SMG back to his leg, sprinting to catch up with Casey. The city was beginning to feel like some kind of ghost town. It was far too quiet out here. He grabbed her arm, pulling her to one side

Keep your emotions in check. We have a job to do. We finish the mission, and we play by the book. If there's a problem here, we'll soon know about it.

He let go of her arm, stepping back a second. His helmet gave him no outward expression, but he fixed her with a stare before he continued on.

Finally, he securely connected to 099, privately.

Zero Nine Nine. I didn't introduce myself. Staff Sergeant Browning, Spartan One Nine Eight, ONI field deployment. I need you to do me a favour...

Ty carefully scanned the area around them for any indication of incoming threats. All was clear, far as he could tell. His helmet began to chatter as a secure line beeped through, it was one of Fireteam Quantum's members, Browning. "099 here, Ty Winston of the support division. What'dya need?"

He thinks hes a special little snowflake cause hes a Spartan II. fuck, i respect those guys but im not gonna go around kissing boots cause they came first." she chambered a round in her magnum and began to make her way to the corner of the building. she stopped when she got to the edge of the building she'd just been in and waited for her squad to fall inline.

"Psych evaluation from ONI? I'm a Spartan two, I was forged in ONI Section Three and my mindset was favorable or I wouldn't have gotten this far. Report me, I'm eager to see your reaction when they reject or flat out ignore you. This is the way your little friends made me, soldier, man up." He redirected his gaze on to grazed woman. "Don't kiss ass, just try not to be a pain in it. You're now using a weaker weapon in an uncomfortable manner that could cause problems because you weren't trained properly as a Spartan, and you're letting a flesh wound get the better of you."

He turned to the newcomers location, setting him into the teams comms frequency. "Fall in, we're advancing on the mission location. How much have you been briefed?"
