Brianna twirled the pen between her fingers. "Hunter, do you really find this melodrama so satisfying? Letting the subject touch you in a way that you do not allow should surely be a violation of your role as a scientist." She ignored the cold trickle Ambrose's words gave her in the back of her neck.

"I had to. For your mother's sake." Hunter says, taking him by the arms. "I had to make her comfortable." He plays along, trying to keep his attention. "Why did you leave? Where did Ptelea go after you left?" He ignores Brianna, intent on the task. The subject was responding decently.

She turns on the flashlight. "Look up for me." She says, before flashing the light across her eyes, watching her pupils dilate.


Misha grimaced but allowed the healer to flash the light in her eyes. "What's that s'posed to mean? He'll get 'em both killed, or maybe they'll kill somebody else." She shrugged. "Either way, it sucks."

Leo flicked his tail back and forth irritably, shuffling on his feet a bit. "Hmpf... I not scared!" He snapped at Xavier, before turning into a boy. "I no trust many." He muttered, dropping the deer and turning human as he spoke. He narrowed his eyes at Xavier. "We go now." He ordered, glaring at him.

Elauna nods. "Doesn't look like you have a concussion. I'd recommend getting some food, and not doing any running." She grins. "I'll go after them myself. Afterall ,they'll need healing most likely." She winks at Misha. "Get some pain pills if you're sore later on. I'll bring Fabine back safely."

Ambrose looks at his arms and flinches. "Don't hit me...You're evil and you killed my mother!" He looks at Hunter pained. "You wanted to crash! I know you did!" He pulls away and begins pacing again. "Ptelea. Where did you go." He sing-songs eerily, then begins a creepy song. "Crash goes the car. Into the tree. I'm not there. I can't help. Mom, mom where are you?" He whispers and goes back over to the wall where his blood was. He sets a hand on the wall. "They took Ptelea. Something happened. Two people...why did they take her?" He whispers.

Misha stood up quickly. "No way! I'm fine! I just ran a 5k." She shook her head. "One person isn't real backup, and they'll probably need somebody to carry back all the different pieces of their bodies." She cocked her head. "Plus, don't you want some company to clean up the mess?"

"For goodness sake!" Brianna grabs Hunter's shoulder, tired of this him humouring this manic. "The boy is decently insane, Hunter! Just shut him up already! The last thing we need to do is hear the tragic backstory of the child we're torturing!" Despite her harsh exterior, Ambrose's delusional words were worming their way into her heart.

Ambrose shivers. "They were coming back for me. But dad fought them off..." He punches the wall. "Dad let them take her! Ptelea. My sweet sister." He punches the wall again, harder. His knuckle begins to bleed. "I ran. I had to find her... I looked. I had to find her." He punches the wall again. "They took her from me." He looks at Hunter sadly. "I lost her." He shivers and begins pacing again. "I went home. Dad was sleeping. How were you sleeping? They took Ptelea!" He crumbles to his knees. "They came for me. Took me away. Dad was asleep...sleeping." He lays on the ground. "Go away." He whispers, burying his hands in his face.

Elauna laughs sharply. "Hurt puppy. Aren't you a cat? A...tabby correct? Can't imagine you as a puppy." She snorts, putting a few salvageable leaves in the bag before standing. "Alright. Come on Mish. Let's go." she walks out of the tent.

Hunter lets Ambrose fall to the floor and wipes his hands together. "Hmm." He turns to face Brianna and looks at her. "Where do we go with this information? Pretty vague..." he says, mostly to himself. "What all do we have on Ambrose?"

She pulls out her phone again. "Fine... Let me text this to the search crew... The Boss is great at finding leads... We now know the mother was injured in a car crash and suffered amnesia. Drunk father... Surely this information can only match one family." She slid the phone back into her pocket. "We'll be able to come up with something."

Brianna looks cross for a moment at Hunter but finds her anger fading. She could hardly hold her rage for a fellow scientist. After all, she had asked for the interrogation technique. She pulls out her phone again. "Fine... Let me text this to the search crew... The Boss is great at finding leads... We now know the mother was injured in a car crash and suffered amnesia. Drunk father... Surely this information can only match one family." She slid the phone back into her pocket. "We'll be able to come up with something."


Ambrose listens to them. The drugs were beginning to wear off, but not enough. He plugs his ears and begins screaming as loud, and with as high pitch as he can. They were talking about his family and his sister. How dare those bastards plan malicious things. Hopefully screaming would make them leave. Or die. Yes, death would be good. Death is quiet.
