The theolagean army readies themselves and begins moving northwest to the Xi'anese capital of Nanking, but as they march their scouts inform them of a closeby orc army, they prepare for battle.

Nanking, The Kingdom of Xi'an
------

With the Ocrad army preparing an offensive against the invading Theocrats the capital has prepared for a lengthy siege. With a force of 35,000 demons the heart of the world's ceiling has buckled down.

Moats of Petroleum surround the defensive walls, including 5 erected by earth demons. Citizen volunteers have been filling the surrounding fields with small balls of gun powder, which fire demons can explode easily during actual combat.

Confident in the power of their leaders the human citizens have been continuing life as usual, even despite the city being packed to the rafters with evacuees and refugees from Shen. As a result the many parks have become places of escape from the claustrophobic conditions, with the emperor even allowing public access to his private gardens in the palace.

Nanking Palace, Nanking
--------

"Are you here my friend" Ling asked as he knocked on the door to the study of the necromancer.

Shen, Theos Occupied Xi'an
-------

With the demons driven out of Shunyung province the true extent of their magic had become apparent. Three thousand years of oaths and spells have left their eternal mark on the province. Doorways that humans can not walk through, trees that speak, buildings that can't be burned and flowers of unnatural colors and beauty are just a few of the many charms Theologians have found in the mountainous province.

The ancient woods, tended to lovingly by the earth demons rulers, are thick and have a haunting unnatural beauty. The very trees, especially the talking ones, seem to be from another world entirely.

The demon's absence however, is obvious. Without the demons controlling the weather and molding the landscape the region has already begun to dry. In truth, despite the power of the demons, the Province had always been dry. The arid valley where Shen was built had been nothing more than inhospitable salt flats before the rule of the demonic dynasty. But, with orders from the first emperor, the landscape was changed.

Rain clouds from the high mountains were ferried by water demons to date the thirst region, ending the eternal drought it had endured. Earth demons tilled the land and sculpted rolling hills of fertile soil from the river, creating fields of rice where once scorpions had been. Nursed by earth demons, who had been given dominion over the province, forests of trees grew to unnatural heights and a few had been blessed to speak.

Without the demons, the rain has stopped, and slowly the province is dieing around the occupation force.

the men were, at first, in awe at the marvels of the demons, some even slightly wishing that there was no war. but as the green faded into grey, the water into dust, the forests into ash, the men saw the new world as how it should have been... desolate, uninhabited, the flowers which once gave a beautiful aroma had now become small patches of dirt, leaving behind the smell of beauty to become a deathly gas. the troops moved on, leaving behind the ruins of shen, reinforcing their numbers to the hundreds of thousands before interacting with the orcish horde.

"Yes, Emperor? What have you of me and my service?" he asked, opening the door for Emperor Ling.

"Yes, Emperor? What have you of me and my service?" he asked, opening the door for Emperor Ling.

"I know that it has been only a few months, but how is your research coming along?" Ling asked, the smell of weed wafting into the room as the door opened. It seemed sobriety was not deemed important in Xi'an so long as their ruler produced good results.

"It is progressing," he spoke, namely indicating at the pile of bones lying around the place. "So far, I have managed to duplicate the spell, but not its effects. The bones have remianed 'walking' and...almost alive, before crumbling into dust."

"...I have also heard, that we might have some zealots coming our way."

"Hmm... could you try using a demon to cast the spell? The magic keeping you alive might be altering the exact way your magic acts, like a gentle wind current" Ling asked, dodging the last question

"It might be possible," he spoke, thinking to himself. "A fire demon would work best, since this spell requires alot of magical energy."

"Well in that case I could try it. If you just show me what to do I'll cast the spell." Ling said, rolling up his sleeves to prepare

His necromancer, soon provided the Emperor with a note of the spell. Namely it was a Revival Spell, combined with one of Rebirth. A heal and a ressurection spell - usually those failed in goes, but if it worked. They might have an undead army at their disposal.

"Alright, cast both spells in succession - and await either for the magic to happen. Or the skeleton crumble into bones again," he spoke.

The emperor regarded the spell curiously. It bore very little resemblance to demon spells, which were much more specific about the energy source of the spell. But, not one to argue with experts, Ling held his right hand over the bones.

His hand glowed with energy as he summoned his magic from within. The light flickered like a glowing red flame, reflecting light around the room. As he read the spell the light turned into a blazing white fire, enveloping the bones in flames so hot that the ink pot on the desk caught on fire and the desk was scorched from one side to the other. The oppressive heat baked the room, as if they were in a huge oven.

As the monarch finished the spell the flames died down, revealing what had happened to the bones.

(Ooc you can decide what happens)

The first wave of 50,000 Dru reached Nanking, joining up with the 10,000 strong scouting party that had lived in tents and temporary lodgings outside the city. Drikdarok, still being in charge of Dargudig which was supplying the a lot of the force, will be joining up with the army, leading the second wave which will be arriving in a day. The second wave is made up of another 100,000 troops, 80,000 orks and 20,000 trolls. The third wave is comprised of 100,000 Dru as well, with 90,000 orks and 10,000 trolls. Molgark will then arrive after them, leading the Unigsuk, a force of 500 fire wielding orks in full armor forged in the fires of Garkunig.

Orc Encampments, Nanking
----------

With the citizens safely evacuated to the inner walls, the suburbs had come to function as makeshift barracks for the troops. The Xianese troops had taken up camp inside of businesses and public spaces, though not residential homes.

Outside of the Or encampments, which were the furthest from the city in agricultural areas, a messenger approached one of the biggest tents. The snow covered ground crunched under his entirely impractical silk shoes. The man was a scholar, as was evidenced by the distinctive hat he was holding onto as the miserable wind tried to rip it off his head. The red silk robe of the human whipped violently in the winds, as the full misery of a Xianese winter set in.

"I seek an audience with your leader" he said as he entered the tent

He gave live to a burning skeleton at that - who howled in pain and anger. Attempting to attack that, whom had brought him back alive. The necromancer in question merely snapped his fingers and the skeleton crumbled to dust.

"Well that is good news and bad. It can work on a single person, although they will need strong will and loyalty - to retain their personality after the transformation. I ill advice using the bones of criminals after this," he spoke.

Slightly unnerved Ling cleared his throat "Yes of course. I'll have Nanking prison briefed that you are to be provided with what you request."

"Wait. I said ILL adviced. Can you imagine the danger of having a bunch, of people only interesting and driven by one goal in mind?" he asked - just as King Turak passed under their window, chasing after somebody and calling them a heretic.

"As you can see. Not the best idea," he spoke. "I advice, loyal, soldiers at that."

"As you wish so. How goes the war though," he asked. "I am not in the mood, to be killed by some fanatic. I have to put up with one already. Not in the mood to die to one."
