Sounds excellent.

I can certainly make my character seek a position as a normal sailor aboard. I could say the Dutchman's father was a prominent trader and he spent time aboard his father's Fluyt when he was younger and knows enough about sailing to make a good deckhand.

Sorry to disappoint with delays. I've just gotten a new job and my volunteer work is taking a t(r)oll. I'll probably aim for a weekend launch. I am however answering all questions asked in PMs as top priority as to help with character creation.

I don't know how many more female roles your willing to accept but id be interested. Maybe as a Loblolly girl, purser or a topswoman. It might be a bit hard to justify being skilled enough to be a topsman though. I'm thinking I set sail on the Hermes with my abusive husband and take the opportunity to feed him to the sharks when the mutiny happens.
