The robot voice came on again.

"Welcome Soldier."

----

Kylie glared around at the empty warehouse. She didn't want to be here. She didn't want to be stuck here! She didn't want to be caught by that stupid military guard, either. She just wanted to be back home. Kicking the walls, Kylie hissed. "Bloody hell, I want out!
I don't want to be a stupid soldier!"
Kylie yelled, fuming. Her face was red. She stopped for a second. She let out a deep breath. She already set fire to a building, she could set fire to this place. She stared at her hands angrily.

Yelling woke Ash. Before the marines, he would sleep through anything, but now he'd wake up at the slightest noise. Instinctively thinking it was a superior officer, he bounced up and stood at attention. But he saw nothing. Instead, he found his surroundings vastly different from the barracks.

It was wide, empty, and strangely uncomfortable. He turned to look at the rest of the warehouse and found the source of the yelling: a teenage girl facing away from him. He yelled at her, but she couldn't hear him at all. He started walking towards her, and a few steps later, realized he was not hearing his footsteps.

"Crap. Not again," he said as he looked back at his origin. There, his unconscious body laid sprawled in his physical training uniform.

By reflex, he dove straight for his body, though he knew that would do nothing. He had no idea how to control his astral projection. Not yet.

Former sergeant Timothy Theron entered the warehouse and took a quick look around, just to ensure the two (or three?) individuals presently seen were the only ones actually present. It was impossible to take the trained alertness out of a military man, no matter how long he'd been out.

Tim had never really considered his ability a power. He'd thought it normal for him, and other naturally intuitive, sensitive people. But when his manager at the warehouse he worked at, Sammy's Club, had been the first person outside of his family to recognize and want to utilize his gift, Tim had almost let it go to his head.

More than anger, Tim thought to himself as he eyed the teenage girl, carefully moving forward, More like pride-fueled rage. And a severe case of superiority complex. Pfft, better than having an inferiority complex...like me.

The Marine, unconscious as he was, seemed to radiate more calmness, which is something to be said for a Marine. While most Marines exude intensity despite their apparent lack of emotion, this one seemed very at ease and...adaptive. And unlike the girl, his inability to control his "power" did not make him feel more important than anyone else.

At least, these were the vibes that the Infamous Empath got. He'd been wrong before.

But it was rare.

Katherin woke to pain. Her mouth felt like she had been sucking on cotton balls. Which she was pretty sure that she hadn't been doing. She couldn't think of reason anyone would do something like that. She was on a cement floor which was strange. She never slept inside buildings. It was too dangerous. Her wings made her stand out so she avoided places were humans gathered. She slow got to her knees. She felt very light head. She wasn't sure that she could stand without falling. She pushed her long red hair out of her face only to discover that she was in a big metal building. One that was completely empty accept for the three other people in the big with her. She blinked in surprise. She wasn't used to being around people. She fluttered her wings to get away. She cried out as pain flashed through her.

Kylie turned around, finding the three people behind her. She narrowed her eyes, watching them. "Who are you? Where did you come from?" She asked, watching them closely, while examining them. Her eyes trailed off to the guy still passed out on the floor, and the girl who was kneeling in pain.. Finally her eyes reached the guy standing up. The boys looked to belong to a military branch of some sort, while the other girl, who looked normal except for her big wings. She raised in eyebrow in interest, walking over to the girl, her curled dark pinkish red hair falling in front of her face, causing her to move it.

It had gotten lively when Ash managed to collect himself. He was still out cold, and he'd spent a few minutes just lying down in his body, to no avail. This had happened a few times before, and usually he'd get sucked back in after a while, so he didn't worry too much.

One by one, he went from the redhead, the winged redhead, and the dude, asking each of them if they could hear or see him. It was worth a shot, after all. He had nothing but time.

Tim noticed the angel-looking girl's beautiful red hair before her wings. He forced himself to focus and inhaled deeply as he felt her pain almost before she did. He collected himself and slowly began making his way toward her. He noticed the other girl doing the same and was immediately accosted by a translucent figure asking if he could see or hear them.

Tim shook his head. It was true, he couldn't hear him, and he could only see a faint outline of the man because he could feel his emotions, and so Tim's mind worked to manufacture the most likely appearance of the projected individual.

He muttered, "I can feel you." He then looked over at the unconscious version of the Marine, before back to the projection. "You need to find an emotional equilibrium and you should snap back into your body."

Moving through the astral version of the Marine, Tim stood behind the winged woman, out of sight of both girls. He raised his hand slightly, not enough to draw attention and began to absorb some more of her pain, easing it a little, enough for her to be able to speak. He also projected an aura of warmth around everyone present, so that it would be easier for them to converse without becoming overly antisocial or distrustful.

Katherin knew as soon as she moved her wings one of the damaged. She didn't think that it was broken. But she wouldn't be flying any time soon. She bite her lip uncertainly as two of them approached. She hadn't talked to anyone in a very long time. People either ran from her or attacked her. With her wing damaged there wasn't alot that she could do if they attacked her. The military man scared her more than the other girl did. "How did I get here?"

The last thing she remembered was flying over the city. She often did that during the day. She loved the feeling of the warm sun on her wings. She liked watching the humans. She longed to be part of the world but she had learned long ago that she was too different.

She was surprised when her fear and pain eased. She looked between the two. One of them was doing it. She thought it might be the man since he had said something about feeling someone.

Kylie raised an eyebrow. She crouched down beside her, quietly watching her. She started to calm down, and she could hear one of the guys saying something about feeling someone. She looked over at the military guy behind her and the other guy, watching him to see if it was him. She was almost sure it was him. She looked over to the other guy, who was still laying on the ground. Her gaze finally returned to the military guy. Maybe he did it.

Turning back to the other girl, Kylie spoke. "Hey, are you okay? My names Kylie, and I think you're here because one of the military guards brought you here; like the way I was brought here." She looked up and at the other two again. "I think that's how we all got here." Kylie added, under her breath.

Ash tried to do what the other guy said. He sat, calmed himself as if he could calm himself further. He couldn't return. "Ah, this sucks. Might as well try to help," he said to himself. He looked at each of them then straight ahead, at a door.

He ran, full speed forwards thinking he could help by scouting outside the warehouse. He passed through it.

Through the door was white. Only white. It made no sense, just that he knew he had to get back in the warehouse right now. As soon as he got back in to the warehouse, his spirit form collapsed, and he truly passed out.

Tim sensed the astral form of Ash lose consciousness as well, and simply sighed. He crossed his arms as he listened to Kylie speak to the angel.

As Kylie was doing that, he took a careful look around the warehouse. It wasn't like he wasn't already aware of his surroundings; it was more like he was keeping a lookout in case any new visitors arrived.

Tim padded down his beige cargo pants, searching for something. Nope, there was nothing. No weapons, no tools, nothing. So he just stood there and waited for whatever was going to happen to happen.

"My wing has been damaged. I don't think it's broken though so I will be ok. I realize that someone had to bring me here. But how did they do that? The last thing I remember was flying through the sky. No one should have been able to see me unless they were in a plane and I usually hear those. Why did they bring me here?" Katherin asked as she slowly moved. Her wing ached but atleast the pain was manageable. She doubted anyone in the room could answer her questions. But she figured it couldn't hurt to ask. What did she have in common with these three people? She didn't know. The one military man could obviously do something with emotions.
