You make two doses with a single downtime action and it is always a
tier 1 downtime project, regardless of the tier of the concoction itself (brewing tier 1, 2 or 3 concoctions never takes too long).
Brewing higher tier potions is inherently difficult and dangerous. You take -1d on Tier 2 Potions and -2d when brewing tier 3.
If you roll a mixed (4 or 5) on this downtime action, the concoction becomes
volatile.
Concoctions are made using alchemical reagents, purified and distilled elements of the natural world. These tend to be things like minerals, herbs, or fungi. It's assumed that you can collect any ingredients you need when brewing and you can weave the collecting of them into your IC post.
Some examples:
|
black powder | quicksilver | mould spores | brimstone | moondew | magnesium |
realgar | cold iron | mugwort extract | saltpeter | ginger extract | phosphorus |
myrrh | sea salt | gold flakes | nightshade | silver | thistle |
ADJUSTING TIER
After the Concoction tier is set you can further amplify it's effects the following ways. Doing so increases the tier of the concoction, making it more difficult or dangerous to create.
- Expand the area from a small to a medium area, or medium to large
- Expand the duration from a short to a medium time, or medium to long
- Expand the scale allowing you to affect targets that you might normally be in a tight spot against.
