Update: Started the encounter with Xandrya's girl, so we should hopefully have that ready to post IC

@CorviDoggoDo you want Glory to be the second soul to get snatched? Because if so, I can make a holder post for Lily's encounter that we can edit once we have the scene completed so you can get started on your introduction of the boy!

@Xandrya@CorviDoggo Both holders have been updated with their respective encounters, imma poke another friend to see if they'll be joining us and then I'll do an encounter for one of my own folks. I'm thinking we can stick to just a single encounter each of us for now, and leave other encounters to back-flashes later as all the players come to and later on in the story

just a little update that our final member (unless we suddenly get a new person joining in addition to them) will be hopping in and making their character(s) tomorrow! once they post and we have our encounter there, I'll do my encounter and then we can move on to the characters coming to in the dungeon. the post introducing the dungeon will probably be very expository, so be prepared for that!

Also, I know Corvi is interested in a Discord chat, but would you be, Xandrya? It might make communication and all that easier!

fun little facts and quirks that i don't know where else to mention them, and which would be known by those familiar with the show:

  • The Game Master loves to talk, especially to the players, and often makes light conversation as they go about their travels through the dungeon, asking them questions and commenting on parts of their life, as well as, of course, commenting on their actions in the labyrinth
  • Often times the GM's mic will suddenly cut out, and their presence in the game will vanish for various periods of time before they return. Sometimes they apologize for their absence, but most of the time they seem to be covering it up as though it never happened
  • Every item in the game has a stupidly cheesy name, which the GM will gladly announce when found; some honorable mentions include: Ruby's Red Elixir, Big Bad's Wolf Pelt, Excalibird, and, of course, The Scooby Snack
  • While the GM does follow the roll of the die, not all numbers are kept to their traditional meaning in regard to high vs low
    • 4 is a cursed number, as it stands for death, and will always act almost as severely as a 1
    • 6 is known, on the show, as the Number of the Fiend, and is treated as a wild card, instigating a simple coin flip to further determine the odds
    • 7 on the other hand is a lucky number, and will always bring a small bit of fortune
    • 13 is another cursed number, as the GM is known to be highly superstitious, and it often acts as an instigator of chaos
  • The DM rarely seems to take breaks from hosting the show, managing to be around at most hours; in this, they seem to always be ready to respond should a player start to speak to them directly. It may take a moment at times, but no matter what, they are always there, and they rarely break character, even when it can be heard in their voice that they've just finished eating or just woken up
  • Sometimes various noises can be heard in the background while the GM is speaking, getting caught on mic for just a moment before the entity makes a quick exist and returns later with the background noise eliminated. Some of these background noises include:
    • A helicopter flying overhead
    • A buzzer like some form of doorbell
    • A k-pop song and the buzzing of a cell phone vibrating on a desk
    • A parrot screeching or the sound of a bird playing with toys and moving around a cage
    • Another person speaking, though being mostly unheard

Hey, this looks really interesting. I see that there are a lot of characters already, though - would it be too late to join in? I totally understand if it is. Otherwise, I'll start putting together a sheet when I'm back home later tonight!

@naomimyselfandi There's totally still room to join! Team Emerald and Team Ruby are still looking for a character each, and Team Citrine still has three two open spaces because everyone is afraid of Rube I guess, lol

I'll send you the link to the Discord via PMs so you can join that when you're ready if you're comfortable joining the server that is it's not required though so don't feel pressured, we just do a lot of ooc talking over there!

@naomimyselfandiJust checking in fir you're still interested. We're trying to wrap up "session zero" right now with the encounters so we can get to the dungeon meet ups. If you have any questions about character creation and what all is allowed and what not, don't be afraid to ask! Then when you're ready, you can just post your cs in the character tab. Once I approve them, you're welcome to drop a post to set up their encounter or we can jump straight to pms with the encounter so everything is streamlined like the others. We do it this way so it reads nicer, but we'll switch to post-by-post once we enter the dungeon!

Hey, thanks for following up! I'm definitely interested in the idea, but the cast isn't really clicking for me; I'm having a hard time working out who I'd want to play against them. I might have to give this one a pass, sorry!

Sorry, former theater kid here! "Playing against" someone just means interacting with them - it comes from the convention of putting two character on opposite sides of the center line so the audience can see them both reasonably well.
