The idea for this is that the apocalypse of Earth has already taken place, and the role-playing starts in the aftermath. Many humans were affected in strange ways by radiation during the apocalypse, and mutated into monsters of all different size, shape, and mental capacity. Some are beyond all thought and react on instinct only. Some, however, retained certain aspects of humanness, such as the ability to think rationally, the remembrance that they were once human, the ability to use human speech, and so on. There are also humans who remained unaffected by the radiation, and their only goal now is to survive. Electricity has been wiped out. Essentially, the world went back to the dark ages. Swords, shields, axes, no mercy.

We need some people to role-play as still sort-of-Human Monsters, those who are somewhere on the border of having human thoughts and being a complete Monster. And we need people to role-play Humans unaffected by the radiation. Once some people are interested, I'll go into more detail.

This would give the humans barely enough time to scrape together resources and such and go find somewhere "safe" to live, but early enough after the end to have plenty of humans still left stranded and vulnerable.

I'm in! I'm interested in non-affected human but I can play a half monster as well if you don't mind more than one character.

No, I don't mind more than one character, as long as you specify who you're playing as before you begin the IC post. Just tell me in an OOC post what the names of both characters are and what species, and then before each IC post, write the name and species before the roleplaying. I myself plan on having two characters also.

Well, for world... For the sake of the first few posts, I'll put the story in the woods beside a small town somewhere up North. You don't have to assume any state or country in particular, since I don't have any real timeline for WHEN the apocalypse happened, so the world could be very different in this roleplay than it is in real life. If people would like to branch out from the woods near the town later, then feel free to suggest places.

For the plot, this is essentially a survival roleplay. Your character's goal is to survive. Both human and non-human alike. If one of your characters dies, they are perma-dead. No resurrection. But you CAN make a new character. Also, for all characters, no matter what species, NO GODMODDING. If your character is human and gets hit with a crowbar, they are going to be severely injured, and you have to roleplay their injuries. If need be, I WILL become Game Master and force people to roleplay their injuries, but I'm hoping I don't have to do that and people can moderate themselves.

Powers that Monsters CANNOT have: nothing weird like laser vision, no weather control, no flying, no controlling gravity, essentially nothing that doesn't play off of what humans would already have.

Powers that Monsters CAN have: super-strength, super-speed, that kind of thing. When deciding what kind of power(s) you want your Monster character to have, tell me first and I'll either okay it or tell you that you need to come up with a different power.

Question before I commit: Do you have at least a simple plot line? Like them trying to get somewhere, build something, or are you just going to be the hand that throws bad thing after bad thing at the characters?

If you guys want to come up with a more linear plot then that's fine, though I don't have one in mind. And I'm not going to be playing the Hand of God in this. I'm only going to be playing Game Master if people aren't roleplaying properly. Just be sure to tell me whatever plot you come up with, if you do. I'm open to ideas. ^_^

I like the idea of playing something twisted and almost human but wouldn't that eventually boil down to the "Sub-Humans" just trolling the human characters? I feel like this needs a bit more structure than what you've said so far. Don't misunderstand me though, I like the concept and it's interesting but a bit of lore never hurt anyone. I'm interested to see what this is all about though, consider me interested.

Hmm... Maybe the story should revolve around a group of humans finding each other and then trying to build some sort of place for them to live in relative safety from the Monsters? And the Monsters could be trying to hunt them down and destroy their homes and such.
