I like to class myself as "spiritual".

I do not believe in a specific religion but part of me, without my understanding, has come to believe that something more is out there than just what one group believes. too much beauty in life, no, in the universe to say it was just lucky chances. I don't know what else to say, but I definitely think all these different religions should share with one another, not argue over who sounds more right in the universe...

Love, friendliness, all that hippie stuff and then some. I miss the old community that used to live around here in England. I feel so outcast now...

So you Mormons take the Book of Mormon and the bible word for word, no doubt about it, 100% truth?

Ummmm. We believe that they are true, but, most of us, realize that some things in translation can be different in English. In short, we believe that the events and teaching are true, but some of the small details may be different than they really were.

I'd like to go ahead and back Joegreenbeen up. I was born and raised in Utah, and although I am not LDS/Mormon, I know a lot about the LDS Church...and actually, I have read the Book of Mormon and the bible and believe both of them to be true, I've even attended their church meetings. Very spiritual places, you can definitely feel the presence of God, his Son, and the Spirit.

Bearing in mind: I am Catholic.

LDS people are NOT against technology. Their children, teens, parents, grandparents, single adults, everyone uses it. Phones, the internet, radio, cars, appliances, electricity...

They just set their standards high according to the teachings they've heard in their Church meetings and in the scriptures, and they want their families to learn and grow according to their beliefs and have those same standards, set an example to their families. They have a high code of morality and stick to it for that same reason. Lead by example.

There are all sorts of good people out there who set good examples and have high standards who aren't LDS, and they all are just doing what they believe in. They are good people.

Again, I'm not LDS, and I am not perfect, I am just stating what I know. Sorry if this offends anyone, especially Joe.

Thank you for the good words. This isn't offensive to me, if anything it makes me feel happy, but not in a weird way.

P.S. You don't have to be perfect to be LDS. =D The way you put that made it sound funny.

Haha, now that I read it that does sound funny, I meant it in the context of "I don't know everything about everything." Sorry 'bout the confusion.

From what I've gathered about Mormonism, this is all bullshit, but where did it come from? Does it have any roots in what you believe?
