Same reason no one likes Kid Rock? Wearing the flag is tacky and offensive to a lot of people? :P

I guess he didn't have that whole "superhero" thing going on, though, so it was kind of nonsensical.

I know Jin/Orbit doesn't like him, because she thinks he's faking it. That he doesn't have the best interests of the team at heart, rather he's doing whatever he can to make himself better. She knows the type- she used to live that way. In fact, I'm not completely certain she's let that part of herself go completely... Maybe this is a case of psychological projection. She's seeing in Patriot what she refuses to acknowledge in herself?

haha *2am ramblings* I need to crash. Bye!

Im thinking a child of Rose Wilson, daughter of Deathstroke. Itd make for a good plot point, or even a child of Huntress giving him some of that Vic Sage blood. Also a connection to the bigbad Bats.

Already have two characters connected to Batman and one of the new recruits will be going with something based on either Huntress or Black Canary. Waiting for her final CS edits...

you didn't answer my question, why does Plastic Man not like Patriot?

Well I take it from a basic standpoint, Luke would someone to shy away from people, someone who would study a person from afar long before engaging. Thomas has a almost unnatural feel to him. Completely loves America, toe headed blue eyed perfection. It's not hate just feeling unnerved by him. If Thomas plays his cards right he'll get Luke's trust. Truthfully Luke isn't really THAT keen on anyone right now except maybe Apollo, and even then his some Greek demigod guy? Gotta be careful about that....

Gotta' say, I was not expecting this. Alex isn't even wearing proper clothing. This should be interesting...

He's the son of a God. A dash of pride comes with the territory.

EDIT: Unless you were referring to Patriot instead of Apollo.

There's nothing wrong with a superhero being patriotic. Captain America, for example, is patriotic. And though he does wear the American colors proudly, he isn't going around with the American flag hanging from his back. The cape itself is tacky. The fact that Patriot in his entirety comes across as this cookie-cutter superhero, paired with the cape, could come off as offensive. He's more like a Saturday Night Live parody of the American superhero than the real deal.

I'd just realized that after writing it, but it was the best way that I could explain it. If any feelings were hurt by my commentary, I sincerely apologize.

Why are we still talking about the flag/cape thing? I think this topic need to be put to rest.

I would like to point out that he wears a white cape and not the flag, his cape just has a image of the flag on it like how a T-shirt can have a picture of the flag on it.
