@Sho Minazuki Don't you worry, once I see a CS i'll sort things out regarding teams and such. Chances are either Cedar or Yasmin will be bumped onto another team and there'll be a bit of sorting out. I'll work something out.
Name: Venator Aurea (Golden Hunter in Latin) Age: 17 Gender: Male Species: Canine Faunus (Wolf) Face: Sharp features, small scar through left eyebrow. Hair: Black, falling half-way down his neck. Combed down but slightly messy. Eyes: Gold/Bronze. Skin: Pale/fair.
Frame: Slim but well-built. Height: 1.85m (6'01") Weight: 75kg (<12St)
Personality: Because of his past, Venator is quite a closed person, but he hides it under a false confidence, sarcasm and a generally easy-going personality. He is proud of his Faunus heritage, but doesn't begrudge those that aren't. He is quite a patient person as well, as it takes a lot to get him riled up.
Weapon: Assault Rifle/Sword Weapon Name: Renegade Weapon Functions: In sword form, Renegade has a variable dust chamber that can cloak the blade in an elemental power, depending on the dust type selected. To change the dust type or refill the sword's internal tank, It is sheathed and the refill type is selected. When it is placed in its sheath, it can also connect to the firing mechanism and the handle slides down and along the weapon to form an assault rifle similar to the ones used by the Atlas. It fires 7.62mm rounds at 600 rpm, which can also be infused with Dust to increase it's effectiveness or give them special effects like incendiary or cryogenic rounds. The sword is black, with golden edges on the blade, handguard and pommel. The rifle has black body (white parts) with a gold barrel and gold trim (grey parts), and has a gold holographic sight on the top.
Kept as a backup weapon in knife form in a sheath on his right leg. Fires .347 Magnum rounds, can fire bullets already infused with dust but can't inject dust into regular bullets like Renegade.
Armor/ Clothing: Casually, Venator wears a style that consists of black formal boots, a grey shirt with the collar buttoned, a gold tie worn slightly loosely, black waistcoat, black trousers and a black formal coat. In combat, he wears high-tech armour on his arms and legs (only the parts below the elbows and knees), as well as a futuristic mask that links to his scroll and operates from a touchpad on his right gauntlet or from buttons on the side of his mask. Aura: Gold Semblance Name: The Hunt Semblance: A combination of an enhancement and a summoning semblance. When activated, his senses and reactions are much sharper, he can run faster and is slightly stronger (not a lot, but enough to carry larger objects and people like Yatsuhashi). He also has a unique ability to track someone using a visual afterimage (like a ghost that repeats what the tracked person does) but only he can see it. He can also summon 4 wolves (animals, not Grimm like beowolves) made of his aura, that he can command to things like attack an enemy, track a person based on their aura (or darkness for Grimm) or carry small objects. They can't take much damage and aren't very strong but they don't drain his aura besides when they are formed.
Strengths:
Versatile with Weapons
Fairly athletic
Good teamwork/leader
Weaknesses:
Dislikes authority
Not a strong fighter without a weapon
Not confident leading more than 4 or 5 people
Bio: A runaway from Atlas, Venator was orphaned before he could remember and never knew his real parents. He instead grew up in various orphanages and foster homes, but was moved a lot because of fights or bullying. Proud of his nature as a Faunus, he got into a lot of trouble with other kids and even some adults because of it and was constantly in trouble with the police. At age 14, he smuggled aboard a transport vessel and ended up in Vault, where he quickly fell in with a group of faunus teens. After he got them out of a serious problem with a gang of anti-faunus teens, he quickly became their leader. He stayed as the group 'boss' for 3 years until an argument between a faunus teen and a human teen escalated to a full scale brawl and the police was involved. When Venator stepped up to take the blame, the only way to avoid time in prison was to join Lustre. He was sorted into the newest group of students just after the start of the new term. (?)
Here's my character, if I can still join. I had a lot of crazy ideas, but I decided to dial it back for this character.
@Shadow Daedalus Hm. Character seems more or less fine, like the weapon and a choice of backup. My only issue is the semblance, it seems to have too much in it. I mean you've got heightened reflexes and mobility, visual afterimage and projections, that's like three semblances rolled into one.
@CadenGallic I was trying to keep to the concept of 'the hunt', but I thought I had toned down each aspect enough. Like 3 mini-semblances that add up to make a full one. How would you like me to fix it?
@Shadow Daedalus Yeah I can see that, it does work as a theme, I just think it needs like a base stem of some sort, some base power that can somehow create the effects of all three. Maybe something akin to, a spirit companion in the form of a wolf? Something he could merge with to gain his added aspects, act as a tracker for hunting people down and be used as an offensive projection? Just spitballing ideas.
@CadenGallic That's actually very good. I think I'll use that Idea.
Semblance Name: The Hunt Semblance: A combination of an enhancement and a summoning semblance. When activated, he summons a ghost-like wolf formed from his aura. This wolf can track a person's aura or a Grimm's darkness, and can attack an enemy using its teeth or claws. It is slightly stronger than a Beowulf, and take slightly more damage before it dissipates. He can also merge with the wolf to sharply improve his senses, reflexes and slightly increase his physical strength to peak but not super-human level. He can sense traces of a person's aura or Grimm's darkness, but not as strongly as the wolf.
@Shadow Daedalus Yep, that works just fine, go ahead and add him to characters. Don't intro yourself in yet, i'm working on a way to get the character involved and put on a team.
@Polaris North@Sho Minazuki@Shadow Daedalus I figure I might as well just mention my plans here for you guys to have your say in. So considering teams have been formed, my idea was to have a member of team SILC drop out, namely Cassidy. So then Cedar from team JACY would be moved to SILC and Venator would be placed in the remnant of team JACY to make up for this, so they'd become team JAVY (Javelin.) As for plot reasonings, we'll say Venator came to Lustre early and since he had nowhere else to go, did a pre-exam before the others did and has just been absent until now. How's that for you guys?
@CadenGallic I'm not sure if you've covered this, but what types of dust are you using for this RP? I've been things about 'gravity dust' and things like that, so what are the rules on that? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I just don't want to say something that I'll have to change later. I was thinking of Fire, Lightning, Ice, Smoke and Gravity?
@Sho Minazuki Thanks, that helps a good deal. What do you recommend I replace 'smoke' with? I was after a distraction, like a smoke screen. Steam, maybe?
Steam can actually be achieved by combining fire and water dust. It's an effective way when you want a distraction. Or at least something to block your enemy's eyesight. Though, it may not last depending on how strong the wind blows, or if your opponent blasts it apart with wind.
It wouldn't be unusual to carry auxiliary equipment like actual smoke bombs, and as said, Steam is pretty close. It would suit your character too, though personally I'd put a maximum use on it, since your character is at the point where you really have to ask yourself... "Is this too much?" The guy is packed full with everything, rifle, sword, dagger/pistol side-arm, a Semblance that not only buffs his own capabilities and allows him to track, but also summons a wolf pack.
I think you should stop there with intrinsic capabilities and consider what extra equipment like smoke bombs and flash bangs you can bring along.
@Sho Minazuki He's not got any extra equipment and I had to nerf his semblance a bit (it can boost him or summon one wolf, but not both). He has his guns and his semblance, but no other equipment. His mask is an aesthetic choice and sort-of hands-free for his scroll but It doesn't have any special gadgets.
The only real tricks are the dust rounds. Do you mean he should have less dust types, or spread them out more? Three on his gun, two as seperate bombs?
