Emmerich was really happy to hear those words, they helped him to relax. The things that he was feeling were new to him. Normally he would have never said that much to anyone, but with her was different.
He listened carefully as she told him her story. He was genuinely happy that she trusted him enough to tell her entire story. Although they met each other only a few hours ago.

"I'm sorry about your parents... Fate can be kruel, and humans even more..." he said, looking down awkwardly as they she sat down on the table. She had passed through a lot of things, many of them which certainly were very happy. He gave Kyrso a small nod before he went to his room, but he wasn't sure if he had perceived it.

"Anyways, long story short... I've trained my whole life to be in good, fighting condition. Glad to hear it's paid off."

"Sometimes vee need to fight to survive, but having someone to protekt you and take care of you can be also good." he said to her with a sweet smile. "Someone whom you hold dear, someone to make you feel safe..."

"Oh, and don't vorry, I vill ask a very good vine for us." he said, signaling to the guy behind the counter.

"Although my other self may sink ozerwise, zee world has much more to offer zan just fighting. Even zee world's darkest corners can hide a charming and beautiful flower, just vaiting for someone to see her. Just like you." he said with a giggle and a smile.

"I know vee aren't in zee most safe place in zee world, but I vould love to maybe walk on zee forest tomorrow morning vis you. By night it may be threatening, but by day its a very beautiful place."

Shai's meditation was suddenly interrupted by Lusius' almost jumping out of his "bed", startled.
"Good morning. Sleep well?" he asked her.
"Y-yes, I did, thank you." she said, looking curiously to him.

"Are you ok? I mean... the way you woke up... Was it a nightmare?" she asked, worried.
"If you tell me where is the kitchen I can make some food for us!" she said with a smile
"I insist, please stay here, relax. I don't know how was your nightmare, but the least I can do for you is a nice meal."
"What would you prefer to eat? I can do some eggs, maybe some herbal tea. Well... I used to gather herbs from the forest to make some for me. I can make it for you as well. We can search get some water in the river. Its a little far away, but..." she said.

Shai didn't know what happened to him, but she wanted to help him somehow.
She didn't wanted to tell him, but his future was very grim. Shai knew that the future was something that should never be revealed to any man. The moment a person knew about its future, it was sealed. Any action they could take to try to prevent it would only lead to the prophesized fate.

"umm... Lusius, you know..." she said, turning to him.
"I don't know much about you or your past, but I want to help you. Whenever you feel sad, angry, exhausted or if you feel that there is no more hope, speak with me. I will gladly hear you." she said, looking down a little embarrassed.

"I may not be able to fix the past, but we can try to change the future."
"I'm sorry if I'm being too meddlesome. I only want to help you. You are a good and sweet person, but I feel like you are... alone. Maybe it would be good for you if you opened your heart to someone. To tell them your frustrations..."

Lusius looked back at Shai as she spoke of his start, but thankfully moved away from it rather quick to talk about food, which at this point sounded much better and of course it made sure that the topic of his start was put on the back burner. The biggest impact though was how it made Lusius feel... Now they were talking about food and it had been awhile since he had a good full meal. In fact he couldn't even say he ate more than some snacks yesterday. That in turn meant that this breakfast was going to be a very big one. "It's ok. Thank you for the offer, but I won't let you cook for me without at least a little help. So come on, let's cook for each other and call it fair." He said to Shai starting to move towards the blanket covered stairs before realizing that it would be cold downstairs with the large hole in his home that they had bigger last night. So he turned around to grab a jacket to better shield himself from the chills.

That was when he heard Shai's second bit though and as her words of concern and caring hit him he paused in putting on his jacket for just a moment before finally slipping it on and looking right at Shai to say, "I... Don't worry about me ok. Thank you, but I just... We can talk about it later. Right now let's just get some food. I'm really hungry and I'm sure you are too." He said just in the hopes of changing the topic, but then she said about how they could change the future and how she thought about him. It was... warming. Turning back to her he walked up to her almost kind of aggressively before wrapping his arms around her in a warm and gentle hug. "Thank you... but uh... Let's go get some food. He said, letting go of his hug and reaching for another jacket of his to offer to Shai. "It's going to be a little chilly down there, this should help."

From there he went to the stairs to lift up the blanket letting a cool rush of morning air get into the room before he vanished under it, moving downstairs to make his way through the mostly removed common room to enter the kitchen where he started to wish out pans and utensils for which he could start preparing some toast, eggs, bacon, drinks, as well as some other bits for seasoning as well as jams for using with the other foods they would prepare in due time.

Lusius agreed to let her cook for him, well... he wanted to help too, but she would somehow make sure that he did as little as possible. She wanted Lusius to relax, stop worrying for a while and just enjoy a nice meal. She had some secret ingredients that she used on her dishes. Surely Lusius would love her herbal tea. Well... she was also excited to eat his food. Nobody had ever cooked for her before.

Lusius was trying to change topics, whatever his nightmare was about, he didn't wanted to talk about it. As much as Shai was worried, she knew that she should respect his privacy. Everyone has their own secrets and things they wish to keep to their own and Shai knew how to respect that. He didn't wanted to talk about his problems, and when Shai said those words to him he got rather uncomfortable.
She would have stopped earlier, but she was worried about him, especially about the thing inside him. Shai thought that it somehow was related with many of his problems.

Even when he tried to change the topics, Shai insisted on it, which she would soon know that was a mistake.
Lusius was almost getting down the stairs, but upon hearing her words he turned back, walking in an aggressive way towards her.
Shai instinctively flinched, certain that he would hit her, but what he did surprised her even more than that.
A warm and gentle hug enveloped Shai. She could feel that it was an honest hug. Even with the awkward and uncomfortable words Lusius said, she knew that he really meant those feelings.

"It's going to be a little chilly down there, this should help." He said, offering her a jacket before heading to the kitchen.

"Thanks..." she said, holding it tightly against her chest. Differently than it might look, Lusius was actually a very kind person.

She started to smell the eggs and hear as Lusius started to work on the breakfast. Of course Shai wouldn't let herself get behind.
Running down the stairs, she ran to the opposite direction Lusius was. Getting outside, she quickly gathered some wild herbs she used on her tea and water, running back to the kitchen after finishing.

As she put the herbs on the counter, she started to cut and grind them in very tiny pieces. some of them would go into the tea, and the other ones she would use to make a green paste using some olive oil to put on the toast. When the water started boiling, she throwed the herbs there, to make the tea, while she worked on the paste using some olive oil, herbs and some other ingredients.

"You should let me cook, you've been working hard since yesterday." she protested, gently pushing him out of the kitchen.
"Go, just sit down and relax, i'll take care of this." she said when they got near a chair, touching the tip of his nose and gently making him sit down.
"You wont be disappointed, I can assure you." she said when she got back to the kitchen, smiling and dropping some of the bright green paste on the bacon. The moment it touched the hot bacon, a delicious smell filled the room.

Lusius didn't see Shai sprint out the hole in the house to make an escape, but he sure did hear her which made him turn his head around a tad to see the tailed frame of Shai run out into the forest. Craning his head slightly he had a few curious thoughts pass through his mind, but before long went back to cooking up his morsels thinking that she'd be back soon. Her words made it seem like she was indebted to him and she seemed like a nice enough sort to not go back on her word.

As the bacon began to sizzle over the mini hearth made into the counter he cracked the eggs to join the heated surface on a separate pan. Before the eggs were ready to pull from the pan he heard a returning Shai run up the cleared out space of his common room to deposit a large collection of what looked like weeds and pulled up grass. With an almost practiced efficiency she went about grinding, dicing, and applying them in way Lusius was familiar withh, but he couldn't even begin to gauge what her intent was.

Though he wasn't allowed to guess much longer as she turned to him and in an almost playfully stern way he was kicked out of his own kitchen, food still on the burner. Lusius opened his mouth to protest, turning around at teh same time but before he could get a word out Shai shoved him again making him turn back around lest he fall on his face. Once again he opened his mouth to protest but she spoke up again to tell him to sit, running around to his front to bop him on his nose which did make him recoil back a step only to find the lip of a chair that did in fact put him on his butt a bit roughly. Before he could even formulate what just happened she ran back to the kitchen claiming she's amaze him with her cooking prowess.

Taking a moment to think and just process what just happened he almost took offense. He was just kicked out of his own kitchen, thrown into a chair like some old man, told to sit like a dog, and the worst part was... was... What was that smell? It smelled good. Turning his head still in the chair he looked over to Shai's almost wagging tail as she made a rather magical breakfast. Maybe he should just sit down and let her work. After all she seemed to be doing a great job and he was still sore from all the work last night... "Ok ok ok. I'll stay but if you need me for anything just let me know. And I'm doing the dishes! I won't sit here like a cripple while you slave away!" He called to her before turning to sit comfortably in the chair to patiently wait for her to be ready.

Shai giggled as Lusius protested.
"Don't worry about it, I just want you to relax. I want to thank you somehow for everything you done for me." She said, almost finishing the breakfast.

After a few more minutes, she started putting everything on the table near where Lusius was sitting. The eggs and the bacon were still steaming hot, while the boiling tea smelled just like spring. It had a very particular smell, you could feel the refreshing smell of herbs, but at the same time you could also feel the sweet smell of flowers.

"Tell me what you think of it." she said, smiling while she put everything on the table near him.
"Just be careful, the tea is still quite hot." she said, while she cleaned the counter she used to prepare the meal.
"Don't worry, its everything made from natural herbs and flowers. The tea is very good to invigorate your body and clean your organism, and the herbal paste is very energetic. Although if you eat too much of it you can have some problems sleeping later. It's fantastic on how we can find just about anything on the forest. Herbs and roots to treat anything." Shai said giggling and sitting near him.

Although she hadn't noticed it yet, she left a small root of some kind in the counter near the trash bin. She had used the small red berried on her tea, but she completely forgot about the root. There is no way to know if she pretended to use it or to throw it away.

"We should feed ourselves well, after all we have to rebuild your house. It will be tiring, but i'll try to give it my best so you can something new. Maybe it will mark a new chapter of your life. Who knows, right?" she said, drinking some of the tea.

"Hmm! Its wonderful! I'm glad I found mint to replace the ginger root. Its so hard to find them at this time of the year..." she said, smelling the tea.
"But the mint surely gives it a special taste. Go ahead, try it out! Its not poisoned, trust me!" Shai said, laughing.

Lusius look around as Shai ran about setting the table on the one remaining surface they had in the common room, a rather small end table that didn't leave much room for snacks. Still there wasn't any problem with putting dishes and plates on the floor as long as nobody gave them a swift kick. It was then that he realized all the work she had put into making this. Sure he got it started up, but she made the amount of work he put in look like almost nothing.

The smells were splendid and he wanted to dig in even before Shai said to do so. As she was away in the kitchen he leaned over the food and took a few inquisitive sniffs, looking to find any hints of poison. Though it wasn't due to any distrust of her, but more of a nature habit. ANy offered gift could be a trick made to end you, especially one made by a witch. It didn't matter if the witch who gave it was kind, sweet, cute, adorable... Uh... It didn't smell like poison...

Reaching over he took a fork to stab a peice of egg, but before he ate it he looked over his shoulder at Shai who was busy trying to clean up the kitchen, "Hey stop that! We have food that's getting cold and the dishes will be fine." He called out to her hoping to get some company for this meal.

From there he decided to take a few bites of the eggs as well as some of the bacon. Simple things but always favorites for him. Though when he was warned about the tea he picked up his cup and immediately felt the warmth slipping through the clay cup. Taking a few breaths to try and cool the top he took a sniff of it once again on instinct to avoid being poisoned, but then took a sip to see the tastes she spoke of. In fact... She was right and it did taste good. Of course he had no idea about Giner Roots or Mint, but at least this tasted good.

When Shai showed up to join him he quick his feasting to look directly at her and even into her eyes to do something that he didn't really have a chance to yet, "Thank you... For all of this Shai."
