And here I was thinking that having 10 ears would improve your hearing.

Oh, by the way, the initial catalyst encounter allows you to pull an ex-machina power boost at any point. You could potentially use this to escape, deal actual damage to the villain, or pull a feat. Usually this power boost is indicative of some modicum of your potential

Ah, a second personality? This leaves quite a bit of room for development! I think I'm going to enjoy your hero tale :)

@rush99999 oh, in the future however, try to refrain from automatically hitting opponents unless they are small fry.

Glad you like it.

Don't worry, I won't make a habit of doing that. I only did it now because you said I could power up for the initial catalyst encounter.

After this battle, remember that being able to react to people like Prisma, who is extensively powerful in the scope of the entire RP, should be mid-late game potential power.

We'll probably go through and arc exploring your Sword's patron before that, regardless.

Ok, before I post, make sure to NOT lot that patron come out again, unless he's EXCESSIVELY WEAKER than he just was. By power scale, Prisma is excessive, and his presence is purposely meant to catalyst the plot into motion.

An energy blast capable of blowing up an entire tavern is far beyond what, for example, Jenso is capable of in his hero tale, and he's already at chapter 60+ at 1111+ posts. I'll try and rush the plot towards explaining your sword, or at least getting some backstory in on it, but your patron should not be able to go toe-to-toe with someone like Prisma for more than a couple of seconds in the future. From the tone, it seems like your patron is some obscene power boost that you already have full access to, rather than something that can grow in power over time.

You told be earlier that I could pull an ex-machina power boost at any point during the initial encounter, and that was what I did. Sorry if I made it seem like I already have full access to that power. I can assure you that I don't. That was just to keep Prisma from skewering Felix and to end the fight once I was bored of it and wanted the story to move along. This won't happen again unless another encounter where an ex-machina power boost is required and allowed happens.

@rush99999 Yes, that was partially my mistake. I should have been more specific. At any rate, I'll be posting soonish. I'm a little conflicted on which route to choose here.

@tex

Well which ever path you lead us down here's a piece of hypocritical as f**k advice: don't rush the plot. Nothing good ever comes from a rush job.

Awesome!

BTW, when we do reach the part where the being and Felix's sword are explained, do you plan on doing the explaining for that? I'm asking this because I've been thinking up that part myself and was wondering who would be doing the explaining after I showed what I produce when I'm at the wheel. I won't argue if you take control on that part.

Depends. There's a set of laws for how magic works in the universe, that being the Ki-Arcane principal. As long as your explanation does not fall outside of that spectrum, you're free to take control of the origins on your sword.

That being said, Arcane and Ki are fairly simple and adaptable concepts that not everyone IC understands, so chances are, your explanation will be fine regardless.

So if I told you that Felix's sword had divine origins, would you shoot it down or would that fit well enough with the rules you have going on here?

In this case, this is the meaning that divine holds.
