Backstory: Tijd's parents are not magical. They do not control the Elements. Though her last name means 'magician' , Tijd is ts the first in many generations of her family to actually be a magician. Her parents mostly support her, although they do not appreaciate the fact that Tijd is practically socailly impaired, due to the fact that she spens constantly has her nose in a book, and would rather be reading or studying than parying or hanging out with people.Tijd's parents never spend time with her, so they can't really complain. Her biggest pet peeve is people. Just people.

Appearence: Tijd has wavy blonde hair, and blue eyes that often turn grey when she is mad. She has a slim build, and is a fast runner.Tjid is about 4' 9".

Typical dress:Tjid always wears black. She always wears dresses. Although she controls water, she swims as fast as she runs, and doesn't really care what she is doing, as long as she does it the best.

Favorite weapon(e.g. staff, wand, sword, wits...): Staff, but she also loves telling people how wrong they are. If she does not have a staff at hand, her words work just as well.

Orithius Pethris Wyrmwood

Appearance: Orithius is the epitome of the lanky teenager - thin and tall - standing at just over six feet even at this young age. He carries himself with grace and poise however - behaviors that have been drilled into him from a young age. His skin is pale - a product of his rather academic and sedentary life - leading to him rarely leaving the house. His eyes are a rare golden color - associated with his family. He has mid-back length pitch black straight hair that is kept well brushed and maintained to a nearly insane level of perfection. He also has a few tattoos on the underside of his forearms - which he keeps out of sight of other people.

Typical dress: He tends to wear pitch black, custom three piece suits - with a black shirt, and black silk tie. He also wears his custom black oxfords - that are always polished to a reflective shine. The only things that he wears which go against traditional wear, are a pair of earrings - hanging on two black links are two symbols carved out of polished obsidian which look like exaggerated commas, with a hole through the middle. (think less creepy young Orochimaru…) - He also walks around with a cane with a Rapier hidden in the piano-black finished wooden exterior.

Favorite weapon: The cane that he walks around with has a long thin sword hidden inside - the black blade has many sigils carved in, which he can use for many different things such as summoning the sword to him, making it extend or shorten, etc. Because of his earth style, he can manipulate the metal of the sword to move and bend - making it even more dangerous in battle - as in, blocking a staff with the blade, then having it coil around the staff and allowing him to try and rip it from the hands of the other.

Hometown: Originally from Britain, Orithius was moved to the family’s Swiss residence - hidden within the great mountains of the Northern Alps. The monolithic structure is wedged in a ravine that requires magic to reach - and is made of glass, marble and metal. He travelled to Zurich every morning for his Formal Pre-Schooling and came back in the late afternoons via Teleportation.

Non-Elemental talent: Seals that he can place on things, either bringing the item to him or transport himself to it. His family is also known for their manipulation of metal and other unusual forms of earth - like onyx and other forms of marble.

History: Orithius Pethris Wyrmwood was born two days before Valentines - much to the dismay of his mother who had wanted a Valentines baby. His father - Lord Corpherius Wyrmwood seemed to be happy with the resulting child nonetheless - and affirmed his affections and support for the young Orithius through the Large and ever closed metal doors of his office. His mother too, after a few months of doting care - became rather bored with the prospect of raising a child - and sent him off to the Swiss residence.

Here he was cared for by his myriad of servants and tutors. His parents made sure that he would not become too bound to his caretakers by constantly supplementing and replacing the staff. He never knew any person for more than three months - for the first six years of his life.

This caused him to become very quiet and slightly resentful of the people who he read about in his books. When he started his formal training - he met his first real long term mentor. The man and his wife constantly bickered, even while in his presence - and the resulting irritation led Orithius to decide that people were mostly only useful insofar they can provide you with expertise or guidance - and that beyond that they were merely irritants to be ignored.

By the time he was 11 he had read and understood most of what he would need for school - but when presented with the children and the noise, became flustered and overwhelmed. His parents - who seemed completely unsure about how to go about dealing with the situation. They strong armed the school into letting him attend the classes, and teleport back home after class. Over the next few years he barely spoke to any of the students beyond giving them the notes they needed for group work. His work was always perfectly done and on time.

Over the last year his father had been insisting that he become more involved in the family business - and thus he would need to develop some social skills. While he already thought his father a moron - Orithius has agreed to go to social classes and try and be more social at school. This year would be the first year that he actually tried to interact and would not be allowed to come and go as he pleases.

Non-Elemental talent (e.g. healing, lie detecting...): The ability to negotiate and interrogate, being able to see weaknesses in other’s arguments/know what they want.
Background: Born from an affair between a prestigious governor and his mistress, from day one she and her mother was hidden from the world, an embarrassment to the family. However, instead of having herself being defined by a scandal she set out to prove her worth in the world. It was at the age of 8 which Rosa started displaying talents in the water element and academics. She was then forced to adopt the name Von Kruger as they used her to improve their family reputation. For the next 3 years until the invitation from the Academy came in, she was showcased as the gem of Von Kruger living a lie in which only a few know of her true identity.
Since coming to the academy Rosa worked hard to separate her from the Seltzer name, believing that it is her duty to uphold the Von Kruger name. She refined herself as a respectable student and peer, even sometimes acting as a guardian to younger students (when the need arises). She can be condescending, however, to students of other elements believing water to be the most prominent element. This, however, does not stop Rosa from having respect to other strong elemental users even befriending some of them.

Pierre Roux

Appearance: Louis has voluminous straberry blonde hair that reaches the nape of his neck. The boy himself never styles it, just lets the hair do its thing. He sports blue eyes that almost seem turquoise. Pierre is always on his feet and working in the family business gives him a little more strength than the average boy his age.

Typical dress: Pierre loves to wear white or red. He usually wears either a v-neck t-shirt and khakis or some kind of hoodie. He doesn't feel like his extremely casual outfits fit in with the rest... but it's the most comfortable.

Favorite weapon(e.g. staff, wand, sword,wits...): A short staff.

Hometown: Paris, France

Non-Elemental talent: Hearing, he can hear over great distances, even through thick walls. Able to hear things like this, he can pick out footsteps and is usually able to discern who is coming if he has already met them once.

History: While his father's home country had always been France, his mother Amanda came from America as a foreigner and they fell in love. His grandfather owned some kind of big corporation and was to make his father Louis his heir, but refused to acknowledge Amanda as his wife. Louis left and eloped with Amanda, saving up enough to open a small bakery on the outskirts of downtown.

Pierre grew up in a place full of love and care. He was always interested in helping out with the bakery... as long as he got an extra sample too. It was only later that everyone found out Amanda was an air elemental, the woman that was gentle... yet was always looking off in the distance. Pierre's mother stepped aside and told him about how she was the only air user of her family and she had grown up all the way in Oregon of the United States. But... for some reason Pierre himself had all the qualifications of being an air elemental, but couldn't summon it.

The boy was invited up to the academy and started as a first year. There he was made to do summoning classing everyday. He wasn't exactly a protege when it came to using his powers. Somedays he just couldn't summon air at all and others he couldn't stop it from causing destruction everywhere. After a year's worth of practicing. He was able to contain it to a small dosage, but this left him behind the class in power.

Unlike the other people of his elemental, Pierre loves people and never seems to mind his own business. He can get really homesick sometimes, but the boy is always trying to fill up his time with fun.

Backstory

Lunaria was born on the night of a lovely crescent moon in late November, hence her unique name. She was rather reserved in her early years, preferring to talk only with her family members and no one else. She is also rather slow moving despite her athletic physique, which lead to her being late to a number of things, such as school, family meetings, etc. However, when she was eight years old, she discovered her ability to manipulate time, a trait that her father passed down to her.

After the discovery of her powers, it almost seemed like she was in two places at once, moving from one spot to another in a matter of mere seconds. Lunaria could be as lazy and slow as she wanted, as time was literally on her side. Anytime she wanted some peace to nap or doodle in her notebook, she would pause time to do it. It wasn't long until the Academy noticed her manipulation of time and invited her to stay and learn there.

Lunaria is in her 4th year now, a combination of good rest and talent allowed her to come this far and she isn't stopping anytime soon. She's never late for class and is always the first one or at least one of the first to arrive in class. Everything is going well for her so far, the only thing that would make it better would be a boyfriend, or some manner of friend, someone Lunaria could actually have a chat with.

Typical Dress: Lunaria has a habit of wearing shirts that have sleeves that cover the entirety of her arms and hands, particularly her lavender sweater, which has a stiched together right sleeve that at least goes past her hand by a few inches. She mostly wears shorts along with her shirts and also carries around a small, brown satchel that's filled with odds and ends.

Favorite Weapon: Lunaria carries around a black grimoire, a gift from her father, wherever she goes. This grimoire is filled with an assortment of illusory spells that Lunaria can use to confuse and disorient those she casts them on. The book has a store of magic in it that recharges over time, so Lunaria can't simply spam spells whenever she wants.

Non-Elemental Talent: Lunaria has a knack for seeing the unseen, meaning that she is able to tell the difference between a real wall/door and an illusory one.

Parents and backstory: Simon never knew much about his biological parents. From what he understood, his mother was very young, and his father was a deadbeat that left her unable to care for a child. He was brought up in an orphanage, and the closest he had to actual parents was the orphanage staff. He was a reserved child and kept to himself, but he formed a bond with a woman there named Teresa, who taught him to read and always brought him new books to nurture his apparent intelligence. Teresa was a teacher as well as a mother for Simon, and he is one of the few people he actually cares about. He was, unfortunately, never adopted, and so spent all of his childhood in the orphanage until he was summoned by the academy to hone his talents.

Typical dress: Inexpensive clothing. A single-colored T-shirt and some slacks or jeans. Simon doesn’t have the money for fashionable outfits.

Favorite weapon: Words. Simon would rather talk his way out of a situation than resort to physical violence. However, he is not beyond verbal lashings. If you do something stupid, he will call you on it. He may call out the futility of your efforts, he may simply insult you. Or, he may decide to use sophisticated rhetoric to convince you to do his bidding. Either way, Simon is more of a speaker than a fighter.

Not a fan of combat, Amelia will rely on her wits and her powers if forced in a combat scenario.

Amelia has an abnormally high amount of luck, surviving on the streets for most of her life without having to resort to drastic measures and despite having poor health.

Background
Amelia was born with the worst hand life could throw at her. She was a born mute, had a weak immune system, and was put into foster care before she could even have any memories of her parents. She was moved from home to home through much of her infancy, the foster parents unable to support her constant health needs, as it seemed as soon as she got over one illness, she would get struck with another.

Eventually, while still only five years old, the girl ran away from her latest foster home and into the streets. She was tired of feeling unwanted and tired of changing homes several times a year. So, she decided to just get away from it all and if she was to die alone, so be it. She would've died alone and unwanted anyway.

While on the streets, the young girl managed to survive through luck and wits, getting out of tough situations. She learned to accept local charity, taking cloths and food when they were provided, and resorting to scavenging when they weren't. Her health never got better and would cripple her from time to time, but she became skilled at holing herself up and staying out of everyone way until she got better.

Her life finally took a turn for the better only recently. Sleeping in one of her usually allies and hidden behind a pile of random garbage, she was awaken by the sudden appearance of a bright light. Curious, she cautiously peaked over the items surrounding her and was shocked by what she saw before her. A portal of pure energy, with a woman standing in front of it, looking around the ally, as if searching for something. Amelia slowly hide behind her protection, sure she was imagining things, when she heard the woman approach her. Looking up, she saw the woman looking down at her, a kind, almost pitying smile on her face.

The woman explained her purpose was to find and take Amelia to a school for special children, with the power to manipulate some of the elements that made up the world. Amelia, ever the cautious one by this point, was unwilling to go until she has some proof. It took an entire two hours of miscommunication, talking, and pondering, along with a small demonstration of the woman's ability to manipulate earth, to convince Amelia to come along.

Now, perhaps she could finally find a home and a place to stay, if at least for a little while.
