@Oak7ree Thought I had: What if there was some evil force that was in constant war with good, both are primordial forces in the way of universal balance. These forces are generally at balance to some degree with advantages that wax and wane regularly but whenever one side successfully conquers the other (ie Good triumphs over Evil or Evil triumph over good), the world is destroyed and reborn anew.

In the process, great heroes and person from the previous world will be reborn as gods. Typically only the side that looses will get new gods so if notJesus beats notSatan, then Satanist Cult Master Jim will be reborn as notSatan in the new world but the original notJesus will still be around. I should probably mention that each "rebirth" would be several hundred if not thousands of years apart.

I feel like there should be a catch though that Good isn't saintly and Evil isn't terrible but instead two different aspects of Order and Destruction respectively. Order is needed to build civilization and develop things but at its apex, it will force everyone into a Grand Plan which does not allow for any flexibility while Destruction leads to anarchy and living in danger at its peak but it is also what grants beings free will.

I often dislike using "Good versus Evil" morality, as human life rarely is strictly black or white. But two cosmological forces - Order and Chaos, for example - might be more flexible.

@Oak7ree I was using Good vs Evil for simplicity's sake; if you read it is basically just a renaming of Order vs Chaos. In addition, they aren't black and white:

@Oak7ree for discussing we could use the PMs, or some other servece that you're comfortable with. For storage and track keeping, google drive sounds great, though I don't know how to do google drive stuff

@Kenaron Pretty sure that this is supposed to be a public thing where people gather and share idea in one thread, going into PMs kinda defeats the purpose; I don't see why you are dead set on turning this into a private thing between you and the OP.

I am fine with both options - in the end I could compile all that is written, edit it and proofread it with you two, for example. With Drive, anyone could hop in and write and edit the text. Of course, I am open for opinions.

@Oak7ree I'm saying keep it in the thread since the impression I got was that this was going to be a more community thing where anyone could just hope into the thread without any additional hoops and contribute if you wish. If you are going to move it Google Drive I can assure you that far fewer people would be willing to go through the bullshit of it and this will die again. Keep it in the threat and routinely update the OP.

@ClocktowerEchos, its just how I see things, sorry if it makes me seem stand off-ish, it's not the intention, but I always saw the creative side of people as something really personal, and at least the ideation phase is something that I don't exactly love to showcase publicly. Still, if OP wants to make it public, that's all well and good.

I once started writing this from an in-universe perspective and wrote down whatever that came into my mind. As you might see, there's more than a couple references to real history.

@Oak7ree Looks like a good start. I'm particularly interested in Donar, the prophecied hero. Do he and the End Times correlate with CTE's idea about order, chaos, and the world being destroyed when one defeats the other? Another thought: if we go through with that idea, does the world just end, or is there an actual process through which it ends (e.g. "warriors of neutrality" or something enter the universe and start killing and destroying everything)?

Well, when I wrote this few weeks ago, and thought of Donar and the End Times, I was thinking some kind of tidal wave or great flooding that would engulf most of the world. Donar, for example, could be a leader figure, like Moses from the Bible, if I may reference the book.

Currently, the End Times and the pantheon could be compared to the Ragnarök and the Norse mythology.

Anyhow, I like prophecies vague and ambigous. There might a prophecy, but also many conflicting interpretations.

@Oak7ree Yeah, I did think of Ragnarok upon first reading that. The idea that the Norse saw their gods as (at least somewhat) mortal has always seemed cool to me. Of course, prophecies need to be vague, leaving the characters in-universe to have their own interpretations, but personally I'd rather know what I'm talking about myself beforehand. That's just what I'd do though, this is your world ultimately so you have the final say.

A question to everyone involved: how do you want to work? Do we, for example, give everyone a share of work? One could start writing the magic system, certain culture or nation, certain fantasy race, et cetera.

@Oak7ree hey, sorry for not saying anything in a while, I've just been out of the loop for a while.

Imma read everything and then say anything that I have to say.

Regarding the way to work with this, I wouldbe inclined towards the example, it souds good. We should still regularly post to let others see, of course

@Oak7ree, @JaceBeleren, Okay, sorry for not talking for like a day and something, I didn't remember this thread u.u

I've just finished reading the story, and it seems really solid, I like the way it's all tweaked a little bit, it makes it feel really grounded and solid. I like how the setting, with the proffesor and the Royal University, is like a post-scientific revolution world. Is that correct?
