The Truth is Out There

You and your friends are alien conspiracy “nuts”. You believe in UFO, alien astronauts, the works. The Truth is out there. This group will be a network of specialists in things alien. Some of you will have your own cheap mini RV filled with jury rigged radio equipment and plastered with a zillion bumper stickers. Others think they were abducted. Some may wear aluminum foil hats to protect their brains from scans. Some may have advanced degrees in engineering, archaeology, linguistics, or some other study. But within your fields you get no respect because of your beliefs. (This begs the question as to how you pay for your UFO research.)

The rest of the world doesn’t take you very seriously - save for like minded folks. You will often run afoul of local authorities, Feds, military security, news services. Be careful about admitting what you know. You DO realize that aliens live among us. Right?

To one another you are serious researchers. Oh, you may live like ‘white trash’. Some of you may be lying through your teeth. Others may have gotten drunk enough to have suffered hallucinations and thought you were abducted.

Setting
Our initial setting will begin in … you guessed it … Roswell, NM. There’s an annual UFO Festival there Jun 29 thru July 2, 2017. The RP kicks off shortly after the festival where our intrepid UFOlogists met up. One of the group’s members (my character) got a tip about an alien sighting up north of Kalispell, MT, not far from Glacier National Park and the border of Canada.

About the RP
This will be a GM guided adventure. I DO have a very specific plot in mind. But I don’t want to spoil things too badly.

Thanks a lot, now I'm going to have to go and break my 1-RP rule and amend it to the 2-RP rule.

Anyway, what would you think of an edgy mid-lister UFO-Ancient Astronaut Writer/Author with a rough background of ghettos, violence and crime? As in, that's how he grew up, got 'kinda' better but with cigarettes, alcohols and the occasional drug. He took to writing about aliens and UFO after a possible encounter (that may or may not be real - it's hard to tell when you're drunk and drugged)

EDIT: Lol, noticed that there's a fellow writer. But I think a foil to her might be interesting.

@Darkraven might want to check with @Antioch. We actually have three writers. My character is also a writer. But it isn't all he does, but rather what he used to do when he was younger.

What we need is a blogger / website manager, etc. Maybe someone who uploads youtube videos of interviews, etc.

I notice I need to do a little work on my character. I never came right out and said what he did with his education or in the military. LOL ... he's the enemy. Used to work for NSA!!!! That's kinda funny.

No, just look at the characters already there and see if it fits well. Also, note my comments about the basic character requirements. (There are different levels of nuts.) And just because you are paranoid doesn't mean you aren't being followed. (My character was a Cold War "spy". He's seen MIB's following him. Really, he has...)

Oh ... and by the way, the aluminum foil USED to work. The aliens have stepped up their game. What? You didn't KNOW that?

Well, went ahead and made a short intro post. Introduced a couple travelling companions Duncan has. Don't worry. They believe in aliens too. They speak Japanese. The older one speaks English. The younger one understands English but doesn't like to speak it.
