Just to touch on this:

Random events generally never blow over well, because while they can be seen as realistic, it could easily be seen as a form of godmodding. They also come off as a feature more commonly seen in stat-based NRPs, which this NRP is not .

Quit trying to start an argument. Random events have been used effectively plenty of times as long is there is a system in place for them. It keeps the thread alive by giving everyone something to react to.

Random events can be bad things - barbarians attack, bad harvest, floods, things like that - but they can also be good things - rare ores uncovered, bountiful harvest, the capture of a highly wanted criminal - and they test a leader's ability to control the country. But, as always, I am open to suggestions and ideas.

I'll edit the list now. Anyone in the list can post IC whenever they want.

I am not open to Random Events at all, as that takes away significant story elements that normally the players are in control of. More often than not, these events are used very poorly by the GM to make what they call "Story potential" with other players that usually ends up with one person being at a significant disadvantage to the other nation.

I think that depends on what the events are and how they're deployed.
