Alright, so letting everyone know that I'm still in the game.

ASTA, Werhner, and I to assume that our mutual plotlines are still more or less intact?

Also, I'll need to polish up my NS, but as you can tell so far, the military's mostly done -- it centers around a powerful navy as well as anti-siege defenses on land. The army proper is small and likely equipped mostly with arrows or other light weapons that are useful on the rough terrain found on certain regions of the Empire (especially the borders).

Well, me and Aristo have agreed that we are the same race over in the PM. It mostly means that I was until Aristo's rule until my nation rebelled (just like any revolution).

The copper armour will act as a layered type of mold, since it's quite the shapeable material I thought it would fit my nations standards, and since it's coated with gold it'd still shine as bright as the sun.

So basically its shaping up to be several huge nations one that is incredibly military oriented, the others more or less have some inner turmoil or are all about culture. The smaller ones seem to be either militaristic or cultural/economical. Then the tiny ones are all about defense.

Sauron, I do still have one question about your nation. In the 'Trading and Tax' section you say that "the slave size is incredibly large in comparison to that of normal citizens and therefor slaves make plenty of money". How exactly does that work? Slaves are by definition the property of others, and one doesn't actually pay property.

This being a different nation with different rulese that is not essentially how it works. The slave trade is incredibly plenty and it acts sort of like a slave hub. The way slavery works is that the slaves are the labour force, they do all the work and the citizens themselves pay them off for it, it's not supposed to be, but it became a custom. And due to this custom the governing body (The Emperor) made it into a law to tax the slaves for their work, they used to get payed pretty well, but now they're left with enough money to eventually buy a horse, if they're lucky.

Okay, that makes sense. So who exactly owns them? Are they considered property of the Empire as a whole or of the Emperor himself?

The Empire as a whole, which translates to the Emperor himself.

I find the references to Alexander the Great strange, considering that this RP is set around the equivalent of 400-500AD of our period.

EDIT: Also, so if population growth is negligible, what will happen when there's a huge war or disease or famine going around? Will our nations be doomed to a permanently decreasing population?

Also, I think I've gotta change the bits about my soldiers wearing steel-only armour.

With regard to passage of time, we could all try to tell story which reaches a climax, and once the climax is resolved to all of our satisfactions, move forward 20 years and basically treat the future like a new thread. Work out with others what happened in the mean time, etc.

You are far enough away that the overwhelming majority of interaction is trade rather than raid, therefore neutral to cordial.
