Alara looked up to see the man from the bath house, and he wasn't a fan of Alara being here. Something about the Eire cloak made him seem a threat but with uribi and the empre-... Alara slide close behind the ruler's wife and kept an eye on the man. Something about him made Alara want to be sure they were far away from the city.

The man with the cloak jumped down to them and bowed to the empress before giving the Egyptian and kushite a harsh look, his pale face and oddly lanky build was clearly powerful, thought weapon could be seen on the man, but the cloak was just for that, to gladius, a few throwing knifes and a strange projectile weapon were hidden in his out wear.
"ma'am may I ask why you would acquaint yourself with such oafs. If I may, the Praetorian guards are the men who are to keep you safe, these too couldn't keep a tiger safe"

Alcie nodded slowly and laughed a bit. "They think that's all it will take to control us? Ha! How wrong they are. Anyways, how are you feeling now, Marcus?" She asked as she approached him, trying to get a better look at the wounds he received.
"Only 3 broken ribs" he said with a smile. "Will take me out of competition for a month or two depending on how fast I heal. Guess its time to visit the villa, havent been there in months. I pay for upkeep with winnings, but I doubt how trustworthy the people i pay are."
"Hold on, you have your own villa?" Alcie asked, her expression was nothing less than shocked. She didn't even get payed for all the work she did, in the arena and outside of it. "How in the name of the gods did you manage to get your own villa? Better question, how did you get your freedom?"
"Well I pay for one anyway, I have only really ever used the damned place 3 times, during my recuperation from my blindness. Paying for the place is easy, I bet on myself to win in the arena. When I win I double up, if I should loose....well I won't miss the money." He smiled a little sadly. "Freedom?....That was difficult. My former employers used to pay the gladiators who preformed well a small incentive to do well in the arena. All the others just used it for women and booze to celebrate. I invested it and started betting it on myself, only a little at a time so it didn't draw too much suspicion. Once I had enough I made a generous offer to my owners and they accepted granting my freedom...after that it was just rinse and repeat regarding making more money to pay for a place to live...and ironically loading it with statues of the old gods."
Alcie was in awe at how this man had accomplished more than she ever thought was possible. "That is one incredible tale! I wish I was so fortunate to receive any money at all, but I get payed in the food I eat and a roof over my head. In return I have to serve a family as a slave and fight these awful battles." She said as she rolled her eyes, though she remembered he wouldn't be able to see that. "I would do anything to go home, or at least be somewhere where my gods are worshiped as they should be." She sighed as she pictured her family farm, probably rebuilt and thriving, they smell of the olive trees being blown towards them by a warm sea breeze. She had to push away the thought so she wouldn't cry at the memories of her past, something she wanted to hold onto and reminisce so badly.
Marcus face was full of concern. "If it where in my power, I would see you freed to worship the old gods or even leave this place. Though I doubt I could convince your owner to part with such a skilled warrior. In the old days I would have thrown in a compliment, but truth be told I have no idea what you look like" He said with a smile. "Though If you could convince them that I would pay well, I can see what scraps of money I can get together."
Alcie was very surprised by what he was offering her. "Though I greatly appreciate the offer, I could not imagine you having to pay something for me. I would forever be in your debt." She replied calmly. The thought of worshiping her gods as they should and even the glimmer of hope that she could go back home made her think otherwise but she did not want to make him give up some of his hard earned money.
"Seeing a fellow Greek warrior free is worth every penny. I would not make such an offer if I wasnt prepared to back it up. Once I free you, you can do as you wish again. Head back home live at my villa and do as i do earning money with your tallents. The world will be yours once more"
"HOW DARE YOU!? Urbi shouted annoyec and slice a statue of Venus in half as if it was butter "A pretorian you say?! If you were one you shuld have kept the Empror safe!"

The cloaked man smirked before stepping closer and whispering into the ear of the empress. "these two may be out to kill you, I was merely sent to make sure they do not" he said before stepping back and seemingly walking away, elbowing alara before he disappeared.
Urbi stood up as soon as the man left, the Empress just sighed and kept looking for the box
