Initiative is basically when it is your turn to go in battle. Lower ones mean you go later, higher ones mean you go earlier.

It could.

But yeah all left is just zero and then more tutorial and then then eventual total party kill because I inadvertently made everything too hardcore.

Or perhaps you simply need to git gud

Hiraku won't let a tutorial win. He is Gud and he is gonna git Gud and slaughter some monsters for one purpose....

TO GET BACK TO BUSINESS! (Also to tell his family cool stories)

What if the tutorial boss was one of the higher ups in his company? Would win then?

Of course not! Hiraku would throw the fight then and ask the boss what he would like him to do! (They must have a higher Position of Power than 2!)

>Roll 2 dice + all modifiers that apply. Add together all dice of the same value and take the highest value (so if you rolled 1,3,3,4,4,4,6 then it's actually, 1,(3+3),(4+4+4),6- meaning that the value is 12.)
>Opponent rolls defense
>Subtract defense from attack. If the result is 0 or less, attack misses. If it is above 0, it hits.
>If it hits, multiply the (attack-defense) roll from earlier by (1+damage mods). That's your damage.
>If you deal half your opponent's max HP or more in damage, they lose their next turn.
And that's how you basic attack.
Power Attacks are similar except they have a flat amount of damage that can only be increased via the extra damage mod

Which modifiers apply? I'm sorry if I'm getting annoying with these questions.

With your character, you would roll 2d6 as you have no attack modifiers, I believe 6d6 for your puppet because of your puppet hobby giving you 4 more dice.
