Where have you been?

Welcome! Just a random Guildite (that needs a bit of work, I know) popping in to say hello. I would also like for you all to pop in and say hey. Where has everyone been? What have you been doing since the old Guild shut down? What's occupied your time and kept your mind off the role play withdrawal most of us came to hate? I'll start off by saying I got to have some more family time, which is always nice. The rest of the time was spent doing things like playing the old Xbox or being a complete bum. Or both at the same time. I also forgot what outside looked like...

During the Guild shut down, a couple of my partners actually found me through Yahoo! Answers when I posted my name so they could find me through Facebook. So I was doing a LITTLE bit of RPing, but my mom was super sick and I was helping to take care of her. Unfortunately, she passed away recently, so I've been putting off RPing and being somewhat of a bum. Returning to work will help, though, and I'm thinking of taking some schooling xD

Also, thank you for jumping in here. I appreciate the reply. I don't often start threads that don't involve RPing directly, primarily due to my shyness. But, nonetheless, I enjoy it when I do.

Thank you. It does help, somewhat. It just takes what feels like a year sitting at the computer, staring at the screen to be able to focus, which can lead to frustration on my part.

It's been quite a few years since I started my own non-RP thread, so I understand your shyness xD. I'm glad I'm not the only one! Lost a lot of partners during the shutdown?

I completely understand. Loss is something just about everyone has had to go through. I had a friend who lost his father to cancer a couple years back.

Actually, I didn't lose many. Only one, in fact. The rest of us found each other and got together on another site. We are staying there for a bit, waiting for this new site to build itself back up a tad.

That's how my mother went, actually. Cancer is a horrible thing.

That's not a bad idea - my partners and I are continuing through email, and at least one of mine decided she'd rather stick in the emails in case RPG ever goes down again.

So you're doing a big group RP then, eh? When you say "the rest of us found each other and got together" I kind of assume a big group. If so, what's it about?

Email is a pretty good idea as well.

Counting myself, there are six of us total. It's a multiverse RP, and it's been running since long before any of us moved to the Oldguild. Since no one had much back story, no one could be as interested in it as we were. It's going on two years straight of running. It is a Free role play, as we use one liners often. We make up for that by posting very frequently, however.

Also, as I'm certain you've noticed, I'm not illiterate, as many have categorized Free RPers to be. All of us are capable of being in a casual/advanced RP, but we've grown so attached to this one.

So how about you? Your RP, what's it about?

Wow, two years is a long time. Even if it is a Free roleplay, I'm sure it is still interesting. As far as free-players being illiterate, I guess I wouldn't have thought about it if you hadn't said anything. I try not to label or categorize people based on what their roleplay's "level" is.

The few that I'm doing are 1x1's. I'm a medieval/fantasy lover so they are based way back when with a few aspects of fantasy thrown into them.

Fantasies, huh? I always liked fantasy, but never enough to actually RP in one. I'm more of a sci-fi guy.

To answer your question, OP, I spent a lot of time trying to revive old roleplay sites. I wasn't sure if the Guild would be back, so I returned to my roleplay roots. I kept tabs on the Facebook group, then joined the backup forum when that was put up. For things off the internet, I didn't do too much. Skied a lot, read some, and helped plan a charity event. All good fun.

I was on hiatus when the old site went down, thus was unaware of it being down.

I was also on hiatus on another site that had roleplay elements(NS), and I thought "Well, If I'm coming back to roleplaying, why don't I hope back into the guild!". Then I found this site and for a second thought I was on the wrong site. Now I'm here and slowly getting back into the roleplaying spirit.
(Perhaps it was a spiritual calling, with my desire to return to roleplaying occuring close to the time this site was resurrected...or maybe it's all just coincidence!)

Nightlock, it's funny because I don't remember posting that twice... Weird. Anywho, yes. I love Doctor Who. There is bot a better show out there, in my opinion. Hunger Games is amazing too. Read the books and can't wait to see how the third movie turns out.

Seravee, that's pretty interesting. I've never skied before... I wonder if I'd enjoy it?

Won't spoil anything for you. All I'll say is that it was better than the first movie in my opinion.
