Sasha stirred lightly as Damian cut the bandages, and she drew in a deep, painful breath, hearing him berating her for being foolish "Would you have just stepped down?" she tried to say, but her voice was muffled, mumbled, so it could have been anything, and perhaps the only clear thing she said was "Cake"

She let out a pleased sound as there was warmth in the air, and she fell into sleep rather then unconsciousness. but flinched as Damian began to clean the wound, and she opened an eye weakly. She licked her lips, and coughed. "All this fuss, for me?" She managed to say clearly.

Scier had also watched the fight and quit exporing as he had time for it later, but now when he saw it he knew what truly went on. This was essentially a battle, of life or death... you had to be deadly serious if you wanted to win... weaver and you loose... he could see that now, it was obvious as it was right there. He finally started to understand some of the questions that still laid unanswered, what really made a guild so strong... perhaps it was because of competitions like this... because they constantly clashed against each other, testing one and another to improve and become their very best. Yes, it must be the reason... a deadly game until the end, but jsut before the brink of death... mercy and survival... a Hunters game... cat and mice... or the match between two predators. Hearing his name getting called for the fight he sighed slightly, he looked up towards the one other whom was sellected... Wes. "So... Its time isn't it?... " he said as he moved towards the battle location "Well... Wish me luck... I guess... " he sai as he passedby some of the others.

After watching the last battle finish, Wes walked to one end of the field and awaited his challenger. He could of looked for him to help start sooner, but he rarely shows up around the guild and overheard that he was going against a new member so he is practically clueless as to who this person is. Although on the upside, this challenger he's against shouldn't know that much either so this should be quite the fair brawl. As his opponent arrived Wes couldn't help but think as to how he could win this without being as violence like the other battles from earlier.

Having Jarvis go get Sasha more cake, Damian shushed her softly, still cleaning the wound. "Easy, Sasha. You basically ripped that wound back open again, so I'm going to have to get a needle and some thread and stitch it up to decrease the odds of it getting ripped open again. Of course," he smiles reassuringly, "I've helped with bandaging the wounded in all the towns I've been too, so I'm not out of practice when it comes to stitching." Glancing at Mayt, he rests a hand on his shoulder.

"Easy," Damian whispers so only the two of them can hear, "the gash is from our bout earlier, from one of my spells. She just wouldn't listen to me and take a break for just a little longer, make sure the scab was set." Thanking Jarvis when he brings the cake over, he goes to find a needle and thread while Jarvis watches over her and Mayt.

Scier scratched his cheek slightly as he walked into the other side of the ring, seeing Wes already standing there he smiled slightly. "Hi there... I guess its you and me than... I'm Scier... glad to meet you Wes" he said with a friendly smile as he stood in the ring, after all it was best to starrt off on friendly terms, eve nif this could possibly be the last time he ever saw Wes... in the end, only one of them might actually come out of this alive. He smiled and then shut his eyes for a moment to calm his thoughts, thinking back about past experiences and events from before, all that had lead him to this very moment in time... where he once more... stood in front of a battle of possible life.... or death.

Breathing in and out, Scier looked at Wes across the battle ground, 'A new predator have appeared.... let the game of hunters... begin' he thought

Mayt sat back on his heels and nodded to Damian, and gave a meek smile to Sasha. "Guess we both got knocked around in our fights, eh? I wonder who my next one will be against, if I get to do another." He holds himself up on one hand as he moves into a cross-legged position. "But, I mean, if I go into another fight, I may not be able to concentrate well enough." He rubs his cheek. "Angelo isn't that bad, from what I've seen so far, he certainly should be one of the people for S rank." He was just talking, not entirely sure what was coming through his mouth, to distract Sasha from her injuries. "Seems though, you've been unlucky in your matches so far. But, what I don't see, is how lightning beat Ice so easily. Water has an affinity with electricity, sure, but not Ice. He must've thrown a lot of energy into those bolts to shatter your ice so easily." He chuckles. "I still find how you people declare what you're doing funny. Even if it makes it more powerful." He gently takes Sasha's hand, and squeezes it.

"Once my head is feeling better, and some of your cuts heal, I want you to accompany me on something. Shouldn't be too big, but it does have the potential to be dangerous and taxing." Mayt looks up at the two about to duel, he knew neither of their magics, and so couldn't guess a winner simply by magic types alone. He shook his head, figuring it's better not to guess the winner simply by areas of control. In theory, Mayt could easily beat Angelo simply by holding any lightning he throws at him in his sword, then get in close and use it against him. Mayt thought about that for a moment, and shook his head. Him ending up against Angelo was a slim chance, and he doubted his magic would be as reliable as it was in that first match a second or third time. "But it also may lead to a good bit of trouble for the guild."

Sasha yawned, "do what you have to" she said to Damian, listening as Mayt rambled on. "I said earlier, the whole world can be stronger then me, as long as I have the power to protect my friends. There are many people in the guild who should be S class wizards, and I like to think that maybe one day, I'll be one. But I don't need rank to know that I can protect my friends. Besides" she said with a weak smile, "two hard battles, not to mention yesterday, it's a wonder I even got as far as I did with Damian. Plus, there's dragon slide, and snake staircase, two new moves that took a lot of energy from me" she shrugged, "I may be ice, but my body is still human. Electricity hurts"

She looked up when Mayt asked her to accompany him, and nodded "I'd love to" she said, "the guild finds trouble well enough, and we survive. We will always survive. But...Lazarus asked me to make a team with him, so...I might have to invite him, if that's okay" she said, closing her eyes, and generally triton to keep still so Damian could work

Mayt sighed. "The more people, the more likely it is to bring trouble down on our heads. And Lazarus isn't exactly subtle, and neither are his abilities. Ice isn't as much, but your abilities are good at protecting both of us." He sighs again, obviously trying not to just outright say what he planned. "But if he can be silent, not bright, and walk without making too much sound, fine." He leaned back, and smiled. "He is a damn good fighter, and can fly pretty fast. So, he may be helpful." He sighs, and decides to let out, and he leans towards Sasha a little. "I'm planning to scout out that dark guild near the City Without Sound. You could provide good backup, and so could Lazarus. Which is why I was asking about communications to the guild earlier. I was originally planning to go alone, but after that knock on the head, I don't trust myself to not suddenly get dizzy and collapse into a crowd of ninjas. That wouldn't be very good." He paused, and pushed his mouth all to one side of his face, then back to normal. "You still in?"

Sasha once more listened as Mayt spoke frowning, but nodded. "Lazarus can be quite. If worse comes to worse, we can send him up in the air, as a scout. Tell us if anything is wrong" She said, "Honestly, I think we'd need him. He is powerful, and we might get in trouble with those Ninja's" She sighed softly, and thought for a minute.

She didn't want to say that Lazarus probably didn't want her to go off into a dangerous situation with only one person as back up. "Of course I'm still in" She said, opening an eye, and giving Mayt a smile,"I promised the Doctor I'd come back and help deal with the dark guild. And I like to help my friends" She looked to see how Damian was going stitching her side up, "But remind me to stay away when you use your sword. I'd rather not have any more slices"

She laid her head back, "I'll be okay tomorrow, if I just rest today, so we can go then, if you're okay too" She wanted to see Lazarus and Angelo's fights, and see who won the S class, and which two members got the ranking, but she figured she could do that just sitting. And eating the cake Jarvis brought over before.

Pulling the needle through again on the left side of the injury, Damian listens to Mayt speak as well, then Sasha's reply to what he'd said. He had a hard time getting a grasp on why wizards would want to do things to hurt others, let alone, those without the ability to defend themselves against the magic attacks coming their way. If he really had to guess, he supposed it had to do with Zeref and the Dragon Slayers who attacked civilization over a hundred years ago. The history books said that even before that, there had been dark guilds, ones that would take jobs that had been outlawed and just generally cause trouble and mayhem. They had to be the roots of today's dark guilds if nothing else.

Pulling the last stitch through, he cuts the string and makes sure that the stitch will hold before wrapping the bandages again and taping them so they'd stay in place. "There. That should help keep it from reopening again, but you'll still want to be careful and not overdo it. And as for your blood loss, you need to take it easy for as long as you can. I can't stop you from going with Mayt, but I can task you both with using force as a last resort." He holds up his hands before they can protest. "Mayt, you took a knock to the head that you'll feel for at least the next two or three days, possibly the rest of the week. Sasha, that gash in your side is going to take awhile to heal."

Sitting down and leaning back again, he sighs. "And you're both, so far as I can tell, it's hard to tell with you, Mayt, extremely low on magic energy. And I don't have any idea how fast that recovers. From what I've learned in the last few years, that varies from person to person."

Mayt nods to Damian. "I know, my original plan was to go today, but that's not possible anymore. By the looks of it we'll have to go next week. Also, Damian, I would quite enjoy if you could teach me how to use my sword better. I could be called a hobbyist at best in my swordsmanship without magic. So, that could be good, would that be okay with you?" He let go of Sasha's hand and sat all the way up, looking over at Damian. The hit on his head seems to have actually made him a good bit friendlier, but he has an odd glint in his eye. "And I don't like having to rely solely on my magic." He gives Sasha a smile. "So long as we go easy at first so my head doesn't get worse."

Damian nodded to Mayt, but kept himself slightly on edge slightly. Something about the look in Mayt's eyes didn't feel right and he stood up. "Soon as you're feeling better, I'd be happy to teach you some swordplay." Heading back outside to talk to the master, he smiles at everyone. "I'll be right back, need to go see how everyone from the other battle is doing." Once outside, he ran over to Master Jamie and got his attention. "Master, I think Mayt took a harder blow to the head than I initially thought. There's," Damian hesitates, trying to think of the best way to put it, "something wrong with the look in his eyes. It's different from when he started the fight with Lazarus."

He sighed and shrugged, sitting on his heals. "I'm not equipped to handle mental wounds, just physical. Back when I was with my parents in the Royal Army, they sent the mental patients back to base."

Sasha nodded, "I'll be careful" She promised, "As long as I rest for the rest of the day, I should be okay energy wise tomorrow, even if I'm not back to full capacity" She said, sitting up carefully when Damian had finished and Mayt had let her hand go. She pulled her shirt down, gently over the bandages. Sasha had a high pain tolerance, but her side still hurt.

"Probably should wait a few days. I think Damian will yell at me if I break my side open again" She said with mild amusement, as she carefully rose from the ground. She felt like she was covered with dirt, grime, and her own blood. She probably looked a sight, and she grimaced, thinking how she was going to shower without getting her injuries wet.

She looked to Mayt, and smiled, but said "Are you okay? Knocks to the head can be pretty bad" She asked, genuinely worried. She reached for a chair, sitting down before she could fall down, drinking the juice Jarvis had brought. Juice was always good when you had lost blood. "The only thing I know what to ask about head injuries is, do you feel any pressure?" she knew that could indicate blood bleeding into the brain but beyond that, she had no idea. Mayt seemed to know where he was, who he was, and who they were. He also remembered the Ninja guild, so he seemed alright.
Master Jamie looked over as Damian came over, frowning. "I've already sent for healers, but most nearby are dealing with the survivors of Aroway. I probably should have thought of that, but Jarvis can normally deal with any injuries the guild gets, and our own guild healer left for a job last night, before I had even thought of the advancement exam" She sighed, and shook her head. "Do what you can, just keep an eye on him. See if anyone else can help, and you should clean yourself up for your next fight as well. Jarvis can help if you need anything"

A fair amount of time had passed since Lazarus' fight with Mayt, and he was starting to get his orientation back. He had watched and listened to the conversations going on around him. He ate the food that was presented to him by Jarvis, before forcing himself to stand. He had to fight again soon. He had to get his joints moving again. He had watched Sasha's fight with Angelo too. Sasha didn't really stand a chance against electricity. But he did. He would beat Angelo for her. He grumbled. "Aye... someone pour me a stiff drink. I have a fight to win!" He cracked his knuckles, feeling at least some of his magical power returning.

Chuckling in spite of himself, Damian stands up and rests a hand on the cutlass on his waist. "I'll be fine, Master Jamie. It's Lazarus who needs to rest up. Mayt gave him a serious what-for." Going back inside, he see's Lazarus standing and quickly moves over to him, making him sit down again before checking the wounds. "Damn it man, you can wait a few more minutes for the salve to actually set before we go at it. What these cuts lack in depth they make up for in numbers and you can loose a lot of blood if you aren't careful." Going back over to Sasha, Damian pulls her just out of hearing of Mayt. "Do me a favor and keep an eye on Mayt for me. Something's...off. I don't know what, but something isn't right."

He looked over at Mayt and Lazarus and looked back at Sasha. "And maybe keep Lazarus sitting down. He won't admit it, but he's still too warn to fight. I need to get cleaned up, Master Jamie's orders."

"The minute you start underestimating your opponets Damian, is the minute you lose" Master Jamie said afte Damian, before looking back over to the horizon, frowning, turning his attention to Wes's and Scier's fight.

Sasha groaned softly as Damian pulled her apart from Mayt, and asked her to keep an eye on hm. Sasha looked over towards Mayt, then nodded. "Already" she said, "I can watch them both, but I'm in no state to stop them doing things" She said. "go, get clean" She said,

She returned to Mayt, saying, "I'll just go ask Lazarus if he wants to come along" She said, "And maybe keep him stting down" She added with a smile, grabbing her cake, going over to Lazarus and sitting down. "Hey" She said

Lazarus frowned when she sat down. "Why has nobody poured me a drink yet?" He sat impatiently with folded arms like a child. "But... hey..." He huffed. "I saw your fight with Angelo. Don't feel bad, it was a fair match at all." He frowned. "Eugh. I have to fight soon huh?" He rubbed his head. "How am I supposed to fight like this? Master should call this whole thing off. She should know who is ready to be S class by their feelings, not their power." He sighed. "What's up anyway?"

Sasha frowned, thinking on that. "S class has to be earned, and I think that's why it isn't just the person who wins the tournament, but also the one who performs best, who brings about the feelings into things. Who knows how Master's mind works? Maybe Jarvis, but then, Jarvis was the first member of Phoenix Wing, with Master Jamie"

Sasha shrugged, "I was never going to win either fights. I had no motivation. I work better when I have things to protect, or when I'm fighting for my friends, but now I know just what I'm capable off, and I don't need a ranking for that. Wes and Scier haven't finished battling yet, so you have a few hours to rest. Which means not standing up" She cut the cake in half, offering some to Lazarus, as Jarvis came over with a drink for Lazarus.

"Anyway, a month ago I went on a job with Mayt, in the city without sound, and we came across this Ninja guild. It's a dark guild as far as we can tell. Anyway, I promised the towns Doctor that we'd come back and deal with the guild. Mayt wants to go and see what we can see about the guild, and ask if I wanted to come along. I'm going to do it, but thought it best that I talk with you, seeing as we're a team now" She said brightly

Lazarus raised an eyebrow. "You know it isn't in my good nature to let you go all by yourself right? Even with Mayt." He frowned. "We're a team, where you go, I go." He grinned. "That dark guild wont know what hit them." He high fived her weakly, before taking some of the cake. "Cake huh?" He took a bite. "Heaven's cake." He oozed with delight. Still with mouth full, he muttered. "A few hours huh?" He could gain a fair amount of magic power in that time.

Sasha nodded and smiled, "I thought you would come" She said, falling silent, looking down, but she didn't blush this time. Maybe she didn't have enough blood left to blush. She laughed silently at herself at that thought, smiling. "it is good cake." She agreed, settling back in her chair, "We want to get what information we can from the guild, before we hit them." She mentioned, returning his high five with a small laugh.

She fell silent again, shifting slightly, favoring her injured side, running a hand through her hair, grimacing at the crackle of dried blood in it. "I should probably get clean" She said with a sigh, making no move to get up, she stayed where she was and leaned against the table
