At the moment the vote seems to be leaning towards "No".

Anyone have thoughts on the matter?

It might be a no. If they do vote for yes, Scotland will be doomed in ten-fifteens years. Their only resource that making them money is oil and it will soon be dry, leaving them in a economy crisis. Plus, the British government might face it's greatest challenge since World War II.

Also, If the 'yes' wins, the United Kingdoms will be no longer the title that the British people can tell about. England will just be a small, but powerful country. Plus, there will be civil unrest from both sides of the issue.

So, apparently Scotland rejects independence, I just read several sides reporting its a No, and another article says Salmond and Sturgeon have conceded defeat

My congratulations to both sides and their voters up north. I urge Scots to ensure Westminsters toes are held against the fire to ensure that they deliver on their promises.

Oh don't you worry.

We might of lost independence but the mass cry of both yes and no voters for a radical change, may just bring us the radical devolution our country, north and south, deserve <3

Thank god. Maybe England will get its own assembly at last... But hey hoo, this is Westminster, so I ain't holding my breath for English devolution xD

Now we just have to last through the EU referendum... That'll be more months of worry. Will be interesting to see, though.

Not today, not from a long that Scotland will shout these famous words again and decide that they don't want to be free.

I describe Scotland as 'Texas, only more.'

Therefore, watch for a Texas referendum shortly, which will also be voted down.

If Texas does get FREEDOM, then they will be eaten by Mexico or decided to go back to America.

Another Mexico-America War could happen as well..

Not happening, and we'll make damn sure it doesn't happen. The reason that it won't happen is that not only did Westminster promise us more powers and Devolution-Max as part of their campaign, but they even announced it on the front page of the Daily Herald - going back on it now would be, to quote Menzies Campbell, "political suicide". Westminster simply can't afford to let this be the end of the matter, it'll be the end of the three main parties in Scotland. The SNP will roll over any of them.

Support from England here.

If Westminster goes back on their promises, then I'll not say a word when Scotland inevitably has another referendum

But I am sure it will pass. I think the backbenchers will toe the party line when called upon, and even if they don't Labour are supposedly set to win the next election. Westminster would have to be beyond stupid to go back on its promises now.

Now if only Washington would follow your example and devolve more powers to the states.

I hope England gets devolution too. That's 40 less Labour MPs for them.

Last time someone asked Washington to leave something up to the states, Lincoln had something to say about it.

Actually, the last time was probably yesterday. States need more power. Welfare shouldn't be federal.

Now, now, we don't want another civil war in our hands. The last civil war was bloody enough and we don't need to double the body count from the last civil war.
