Dimitri's smirk widened. "You're lacking in experience. Even with your advanced speed and reflexes, it'd only be a matter of time for me to kill you. But I won't." The vampire pulled a canteen from the depths of his clothing, and opened it up. The smell of blood wafted up into the air, and the stench of death, as the vampire took a few drinks from the canteen, a bit of blood running down his neck. After he finished he recapped it and put it up.

Michael finished his meal and stored the remaining meat in a pack and set it aside attempting to ignore the foul smell emitting from the vampires canteen. "Go to sleep Ace I will keep watch until you wake. Unless you don't need it in which case we should move." he stated simply flicking his tail impatiently.

Dimitri looked over at the nest. "Interesting to see that here. Are they Rocs? Or maybe thunderbirds, in which case I advise you steer clear. Unless you want to be a pile of dust for some ogre to trod through."

"Well then the best thing to do would be set a trap for it, whatever it is. I have enough wire to set several lines acorss the top of the nest so when whatever it is lands we can have a moment of advantage." Michael said then quickly set off to do just that.

Before Michael could get away Dimitri grabbed him, moving quickly. "I would strongly advise against it. Whatever it is, it's most likely much bigger and able to eat you. And if it is thunderbirds, you'll be dead before you can say 'aw fuck'."

"Given the location, I think it's the saumerg. The bird that has seen the universe end twice. You know what, I suppose your right. Although a pair of wings could really be useful to get past the python, I think I saw it and it fits the local as well.." Ace said, a bit ponderingly. He was wondering what you wings would be like. "In comparison to that I'd take rocs any day, even a thunderbird. I still want to try." He finished concisely, starting to run down the slope to the meeting between the two peaks before the vampire could react while holding on to the other humans.

"Well if you really insist then I suppose it would be foolish to fight such a fearsome adversy before i acquire more power. I should explore and find some creatures to consume." Michael said and attempted to shake off Dimitri's hand, "However I have no intention of letting this youngster die so I shall follow him." he finished and ran after him.

With his new and improved physical abilities Ace was able to run down into the valley in a matter of minutes, and only slightly longer to run up the other side. Grinning with razor sharp teeth he sat on the edge of the nest waiting for the others. He couldn't see anyone but he did keep an eye on the sky's out for any giant birds swooping in. And with all the debrie scattered about the nest thair could easily be hidden hatchlings or eggs.

A Massive bird desended from the sky cawing loudly while carrying an elephant in its talon, much like an eagle would carry a fish. It dropped the elephant sending it crashing to the groudn shaking the whole nest. Its golden eyes roamed its nest searching for danger... and found one. The bird's eyes locked onto Ace's location and it shrieked a terrible cry, loud enough to send a normal human crashing to the ground. --- Michael stopped as he heard the gaint bird's cry and covered his ears until it stopped shaking from the noise, "Argh, maybe." he said carefully, "We should reconsidir. However Ace still needs to get out before he becomes dinner." Michael quickly rushed foward towards the nest with the intent of making sure Ace got out safelly.

Ignoring everything else Ace draws his guns, it's time to fight. His razor sharp teeth formed a manic grin and his eyes burned with a sort of fire. "So, what are you exactly?" He asked himself of the birds as he began to fire the first shots. "From what I see I'm thinking a rock, no?"

Dimitri winces, grabbing at his head, and looks at the gargantuan bird. "My fucking ears..." He starts using bursts of his full speed, making significant headway against Michael, who was originally ahead of him. He gets up next to Ace and growls. "Far too big to be a roc. And big enough to eat us. Going with just about every other creature in this hell hole, bullets won't do shit to it... I am not liking our odds. I have a policy about not fighting something that could eat you in one mouthful. I'm practically immortal, but I'm not invincible damn it!" Dimitri said all this as he grabbed Ace by the shirt collar and turned, running like hell, not caring if he smacked the human on the rocks scattered about the place as he dragged him rather forcefully along. He passed Michael and looked at him. "Run if you don't want to be bird food!" He called, for once showing an emotion that was rare for him: fear.

Michael stopped as the vampire rushed past him taking care of Ace before he could get there. Which was good as the waaay to large bird raised its wings and flapped them with massive force. In addition to the gale blowing with immense force several of its feathers, as large as spears, detached and hurled themselves at the fleeing humans. Michael ran away teleporting erratically dodging as the feathers as they randomly smashed into the ground causing fractures to spread through the ground. Luckily the bird only seemed to have the intent of driving them off and unless one of the small group managed to get impaled they should be in the clear. The slope lead down to a swampy area, boggy with vines and bushes everywhere.

Michael quickly lost sight of the pair in his mad scrabble for safety. Whatever, he didn't need them, what he needed was to kill more things and acquire more power. As he wandered through the forest he found a convient rock to sit on and gather his thoughts. As he was thinking he suddenly noticed the ground was a lot further away than it used to be, upon looking at his rock it seemed to hvae grown arms and legs. QUickly he jumped down and faced the enourmas rock golem, it lashed out at him with his arms, but Michael was wasting no time with this creature, he ducked under the swings and leaped to the golem's face and chopped its head off with the force of his blow. As it fell to the ground he quickly touched it and suddenly a smooth surface spread over his skin, Michael tapped it with has sword satisfied with the chink of metal on stone.
