Hmm..

Vahir, i'm a little confused. Are you applying to play as a Tower?

A dead-but-kind-of-not-dead person inhabiting a tower.

My inspiration, if you know much about Warhammer 40k, is the Emperor on the Golden Throne. He's still a person, but he's kind of an inanimate object.

Edit: Or is this RP full? If so I might as well not continue writing my application.

I am a tried and tested fan of 40k, but I regret to say that we are a little full at this point in time. However, I am going to keep you on a reserve list so I can contact you when there is an inevitable dropout over the course of the RP, mainly because the idea is weird but intriguing.

Keep your plans in mind, and check back from time to time.

T h e E t e r n a l V e r d a n c e

A supposedly infinite plane of tainted life. Towering trees and mysterious waterfalls stretch far beyond the horizon - one can easily find themselves lost within the haunted undergrowth, where the sun is quickly blotted out by a canopy that is as thick as it is imposing. Fél Válásí may have once been a land dedicated to life and all it's wonders, but if true, that no longer so. None can say what spirits, beasts and twisted creatures lurk within the never-ending maze of the Verdance.

Well it looks like the guild is, at least in some capacity, back up.

I took the opportunity during the downtime to re-write the IC intros as I wasn't totally happy with them; the rewrites aren't entirely done, but the first few definitely are. There is enough content to allow the IC to get going.

First up, Human, Abyss, Frigid Scar and Garden of Filth Rivals. Tomorrow will see the next round, including Eternal Judgement, the Sea of Stars, The Labyrinth, Mirror of the Wind, The Wraith Lands, The Wastes, The Chain Realm and The Verdance.

If you have a particular desire for your Rival post to be pushed out sooner let me know, and i'll jump you up on the rewrite queue. If you already have an opener plot, and don't need one right away, let me know too so I can give priority to those who want a rival interaction from the outset.

I have an opener plot with the garden of filth. I expect it will last about 4 - 6 IC posts total so the two of us should be good. I can't really speak for my peer, however I believe he will agree with me in saying that we don't need to take priority.

I'd like to post however I'll wait until you at least get all the introductions up. I might write my opening in a text document though.

WIP
Name

Magnum Xea

Type

Haunter, a pariah breed of human/demon hybrid; an apex predator of all demon kind that is absolutely consumed by its own adore for the spiritual and quasi-spiritual essences of the folk native to the Outer Planes.

Appearance

Personality and Drive

Centuries of consuming tainted life energies has effectively warped the neurological composition of Xea's once-mortal mind, imbuing her with a savage, maddening hunger for the quintessences of demonic stock that grows with each Outer Plane denizen that she discretely summons, skillfully ensnares and voraciously devours with a predatory intensity.

Her addiction to the taste of Outer Planes spirits has morphed Xea into an individual that can be exceptionally difficult to trust, with most of her actions, malevolent or benevolent, being entirely geared towards the procurement of more sustenance and power, with Xea flagging other beings—even Demon Lords and the handful of Champions of the Mortal Plane—as nothing more than substandard pawns destined to be used in her diabolical schemes and intrinsic quest for greater and greater amounts of nourishment. Xea is not fond of offering others her loyalty or swearing commitments to those that she does not respect (or likes) and exhibits behavioral patterns that are habitually associated with self-centered persons laced with the stench of perpetual desperation and self-destructive motives.

Abilities

Much of Xea's arcane power stems from--and is concerned with--two mysterious fundamental forces of existence. The first is canonically referred to as Anchor, an invisible field of ether-like energy that binds most material and immaterial items together, giving them shape, substance and strength. The second, Burden, is emitted and perpetually generated by most objects, infusing them with weight and a tangible universal presence. The intrinsic functions and origins of Anchor and Burden are not entirely understood or known by Xea, though both have enabled her to execute a profound degree of dominion over her body and over corporal (and incorporeal) things that are within range of her otherworldly reach. This magical craft has been christened Rifting by Xea.

For obscured reasons, beings that harbor sapience display hardened resistance to Xea's attempts at manipulating their personal bodies, with said resistance manifesting in the form of an all-encompassing field of invisible soul-like energy that bends and contorts around its host. This retardant barrier has proven wholly impossible to circumvent, overpower or annihilate at strong ranges, although Xea making direct physical contact with her enemies and would-be aggressors by conducting assorted grapples, punches, head-butts, kicks, and even mere flicks seemingly nullifies it to an extreme echelon.

When engaging Anchor, Xea can compel organic and non-organic material alike to incorrectly register within existence itself, stimulating them to explosively fall apart at the atomic level or take on stronger atomic bonds (which amplifies the durability of the object currently under Xea's influence), while Burden can be used to elevate (or decrease) the weight of objects (with the depressed or augmented weight condition slowly ebbing as time passes).

The applications credited to Burden and Anchor are quite extensive but not infinite, for they are restricted not by the extent of Xea's imagination, but by the inner-workings of the mutual forces of Anchor and Burden themselves. Protective aegises of crushing gravitational force, self-induced levitation, weakening matter, or increasing her own mass and durability are some of the miraculous things Rifting can achieve.

Active

Hysterical Vigor: Xea's natural physical attributes, enhanced by paranormal influence and active Burden and Anchor exploitation, are far beyond those of a normal human.

Hound: Gravitational distortions, the pangs of faint molecular vibrations and the putrid sent of demonic energies are all apparent to Xea. Her more mundane perceptions of sight, taste and hearing are keen as well.

Vengeful Recoil: Thousands of years spent refuting mental invasion attempts from hundreds of demons have hardened Xea's psyche. Violent and nonviolent attempts on Xea's mind are not only quashed, but are also reflected back at the attacker with an accompanying tang of harm about them.

Alrighty, Vahir and ASTA, you're in. Sorry It took me until now to get a good look over your sheets. I found them very enjoyable, though.

ASTA, you're going to get your own antagonist because i'm feeling mean and had a cool idea, and Twisted, I still need to discuss your antagonist with you.

The Fair Lady and Tatsua Aiisen: Once your sheets are completed, i'll get to adding you to the OP and creating rivals for you.

Plane: The Pit of Sorrows

Special note; In the pit of sorrows, starvation is frequent but never deadly- even as the pangs of hunger overwhelm those locked away in dark rooms, completely lost to existence.

AB, I am afraid you are at the mercy of The Fair Lady, here. While her sheet is not complete, the OP states:

The OP said Spine of Iron [ X ] - Temporarily Locked - The Fair Lady

It does state within the NS construct that you should check these things beforehand. But as your sheet is complete, you leave me in a sticky situation.

My verdict? TFL gets to choose, as she has a claim. If she wishes to allow you to share the Plane, so be it, I can adapt to that. If not... well...
