[OOC] Curse of the Beast

Once again, this is based off of a past roleplay created by someone else. I did not come up with this myself (though there will likely be a lot of edits to this version).



The town of Cloveshore is a fairly secluded and quiet place, except for the mysterious disappearances that occur from time to time. There are some strange stories surrounding the disappearances, many of them trying to tie them to the strange manor that sits up on the hill just outside the small town. Throughout the years, many have been curious about the wealthy family that lives there, but the only thing really known about them is that none of them have ever been seen in the town. Of course, why would they even want to? What could this small and quiet town possibly have to offer these well-off people?

Truthfully, this mansion housed a family of four sons and their caretaker. In recent years, the caretaker has passed on, but the sons still live there, each cursed to turn into a beast of a terrifying nature and marked with a rose. These markings grew with the boys, but the petals have recently started to disappear, marking the approaching point where the curse would finally take over. In a panic, and no longer being kept in check by their caretaker, the boys are said to have taken more people until the townsfolk became too worried about the dwindling population to just sit back any more. In a desperate attempt to appease even more desperate monsters, they offered up four girls and prayed that it would be enough to keep the beasts from taking anyone else. What fate lies in store for these girls, nobody can say. Just as nobody can say what may lie in store for the beasts.


Rules:
Do NOT control other people's characters. Ever.
You may call for Val at any time, but he is not an NPC.
If you want to do something particularly big plot-wise, please send me a PM first. I will be glad to discuss these things.
Keep all romance under PG-13. Anything past the kisses and cuddles MUST be taken to PM.
Give some notice if you won't be on for more than 2 days. I will not be responsible for anything you miss otherwise, and it would be rude to leave you love interest hanging. Be polite to them, at least!
Respect all players, please. And please keep fighting out of the OOC as much as possible.
Take your time with romance. We have a whole story to run.
Do NOT kill players or NPCs without consent. You may use the NPCs as you see fit otherwise.
Feel free to ask questions if you need to. I will gladly answer them as soon as I am able to.

There are various servants, butlers, and maids that work in the mansion and know about the curse.

Topias Valtonen (non-NPC)

Name: Topias Valtonen

Nickname: Val, Topaz

Age: "20, Sir, Madam."

Abilities: General management, cleaning, cooking on occasion, and he's said to be a decent painter.

Likes: Cake, chocolate, piano music, Tiger Lilies, puns, and anything cute.

Dislikes: "Please don't go there."

Personality: A bit of an odd fellow, but very cheerful. He seems to enjoy his work, or at least is able to keep a smiling face through almost all of it, and takes great pride in what he does. He isn't one to be trifled with, however...at least the other servants say so...

Though he can be a bit sassy at times, he is also a very good listener and seems to keep a lot of secrets.

History: Having served with the family from a very young age, Topias actually became head butler just a couple years ago. He has known the boys for quite some time, and is often the one who takes care of the big messes.

Even though he spends most of his time in his garden he takes extra care with his appearance. He can be loyal but his is mostly vain until he can find the right girl to elevate his looks.

Mira (Whirlwind)

Appearance: (see picture above) Mira stands an fairly average 5'5" with a thin but curved figure. She has no muscle, as she puts it, not even able to do a single push up if you asked her. She has tan skin, partly natural, partly from tanning purposefully. Her eyes are a brilliant green hue, and her hair dark at the roots before fading to blonde at the ends. Her hair reaches just below her bust, and is naturally wavy. She has freckles dotting the bridge of her nose and cheeks, but usually wears makeup which covers them. Her eyes are a little too far apart as are her eyebrows, giving her a more unique appearance. She has three tattoos, a butterfly on her hip, a peace sign on the inside of her right wrist, and black feathered wings covering a good portion of her back. She has two piercings in each ear but otherwise no others. She keeps her toenails looking nice but her fingernails are never painted and often chewed to the quick. She usually wears summery clothes until she absolutely has to wear something for the cold, hating being completely covered up.

Personality: Mira has two sides to her personality like most people. When she's happy, doing and getting what she wants, she is great to be around. A good friend, fun, easy to talk to. When she is dead sober or hungover, being forced into something or other, she is irritated, snappy, sarcastic, and rude. She has a wall up that would be difficult for anyone to break down at this point, and she believes pushing people away keeps her safe. She likes having friends, but only at a safe distance. And she hasn't had a boyfriend in 2 years. Her greatest fear is getting hurt. Again and again. So she will hurt others first to keep them at bay. Past her wall, she is still like a little girl, wanting love and affection, someone to care and listen.

History: Mira grew up with her mother only for the first few years of her life, until she remarried when Mira was 4 to a man who had a son. Mira was a rebellious and difficult child after that, acting out in hopes of getting attention. She never did particularly well in school, though she displayed plenty of intelligence when she had to. After everyone kept telling her she needed to do better in school, they were disappointed in who she was, she could be so much better than she was, look at all these other little girls who were behaving 'right', she gave up. She decided she hated those older than her who got to decide if she was smart enough, well behaved enough, or anything else. She withdrew and by age 12 got involved in drugs. By 13, she was an addict. Her parents sent her to a rehab facility for teens and she returned at age 14, clean. But, by age 15, she'd picked up drinking again. However, they noticed drinking actually made her less trouble for them. She was happier in general, she screamed and cried and threw things less. She made more friends and kept C's. So they let her have her vice. She still had rages though sometimes, screaming and hitting anything near her, resulting in scars on her body she has no idea how they got there. Needless to say, when the opportunity came to volunteer a girl to give to some beasts, Mira was one of the first names to pop in some people's heads within the town, even her own parents. So she was handed over. (There are many secrets and details I left out as to why Mira is the way she is, but I would rather reveal those within the IC if that's okay).

Lilly is a beautiful girl standing at 5"4 with a slim build. Her skin is a milky white color with a small trace of a light tan. She has blonde hair with traces of brunette and it reaches just a couple inches past her shoulders. Her eyes are a light brown color, almost like the color of caramel. If you were to look close enough you'd see dark green specs around her black pupils. She has full lips that always seem to be glossy and soft and straight white teeth when she smiles. She doesn't have any piercings or tattoos and takes good care of her body. Lilly's style is simple, she likes to wear things that don't constrict her movement, so things that flow and are loose, but still look amazing on her.

When Ali is depressed she doesn't speak, she only draws.

History: Ali wasn't the favorite daughter in her family, she was fead and giving a place to stay. No encouragement, no help, Ali was alone most of the time. Her sister's always teased her because she lacked the confidence they always had. In her dark pit of despair she started watching over some of the smaller children in the village. Through them she learned how to draw the natural things around her. The little children never made fun of her as she was always there. Her parent's didn't think twice about sending her away, not knowing how it would send her back down that road of despair.

Personality: Vivi is a bit quiet, but not outwardly timid. Though more of the type to wait for others to go to her, rather than going to them, she is normally willing to help most people in any way possible.
Inwardly, Vivi is often concerned with what others think and worries quite a bit about her own behavior. The thought of making people angry scares her, and she would rather avoid confrontation whenever possible. She also tends to get secretly angry a lot, but is afraid of going overboard in her actions when she does express this anger. Still, once she does become angry, she can lose herself pretty quickly, and doesn't like backing down even as she beats herself up for it afterward.

History: Vivi's parents went through a difficult divorce. Truthfully, she was glad for it, as she didn't think that the two really matched together that well. She also lived with a couple of older siblings, but she wasn't exactly on the best terms with them when she was sent to the mansion. She actually volunteered to go the mansion, a bit foolishly, perhaps, as a way to spite these older siblings. Sadly, she really didn't think her plan through and now sort of regrets it.
