Jacob rolled his eyes sighing. "I was in Texas, Austin Texas for the past few days." Arriving in the cafeteria he saw no chefs present, slipping behind the counter. "How do you take your coffee Cheryl?" He pulled out the coffee pot and began to add water and add grounds.

Cheryl shrugged. "Skim, no sugar," she replied casually.She checked her phone while leaning on the counter before asking yet another question. "Were you with your sister in Texas?" She made a mental note to research what kind of connection Jacob Knight has in Texas, and maybe press more information from his sister.

"No, I take my trips alone, I fly private." He fixed her a cup handing Iit to her looking over at the two men at the table wonder why they had briefcase. He went back and fixed his drink as the chefs had arrived. "Any Cheryl its been fun but I should get going... And if you think you have it figured out let me know." Taking his coffee he walked out in to the hall waiting by his homeroom door he sighed and checked his phone. He had 81 emails all of them from fans sighing he sipped his black coffee and began to respond.

Faeya smiled softly and nodded. "I thought so. You have a gorgeous accent, so it had to be England. Well, I personally welcome you to the worst place in the world." Lorenzo, ticked at the jerk who basically bad mouthed him and walked away, walked over to his half-Strega and the other girl and said "these stronzi are extremely fastidioso." Faeya sighed and said "Emma, this is my half brother Lorenzo. Lorenzo, this is Emma." Lorenzo smiled charmingly and said flirtaciously "hello, Emma. Sei bellissima." Faeya rolled her eyes. "Go away, playboy!" Lorenzo sighed.

"It's better than where I lived." Emma muttered before looking at the boy who joined them. The boy spoke flirtatiously in Italian why smiling at her. She knew the basics of Italian and French from when her father made her learn so she knew what he said. This caused her too look away. "You don't need to lie." She told him seriously, not looking at him. She knew she was the opposite of that and she wished he wouldn't say stuff like that because it made her feel like he was saying that to set her up for a put down like most guys she knew had done.

Lorenzo and Faeya looked at her in shock. Lorenzo said in an angrily serious voice "who said that you were not? They are the liars. I do not lie." Faeya glanced at Lorenzo before walking to her first period. She saw Harper and she couldn't help but notice that he was attractive. She also knew he was somewhat of an ass. She decided against talking to him, but passed him on her way to first hour so she wasn't tempted.

Lorenzo stayed with Emma and he said softly, changing his tone, "I do think you are, Bella. I am sorry no one has told you before."

Once Esther had finished the last bite of her vanilla slice, she decided it was probably time for her to head home. She had spent enough time handing out resumes and now, she just had to wait to see if she got a call back. She also took special note of the fact that Mally's did an open mic session every Thursday nights. Maybe she would think about coming back and trying her luck then.

As she made her way back to her apartment, she realised she still had one resume left in her back. She figured she would save it, just in case something randomly came up. She also remembered one of the few words of wisdom that her mother always used to say to her: "Never give everything in one go unless you're willing to take the risk." It felt like a long day for her but she realised that she wasn't quite ready to go home just yet. She wanted a little bit of time to herself in a peaceful place so she headed over to the memorial park. It had always been one of her favourite things to find a serene spot where she could sit and write in her journal. She liked to keep note of her reflections in case she ever came up with some golden words of her own.

When she arrived at the park that was just across the road from the high school, she took a seat at one of the empty benches near the lake. Esther sat sideways and placed both her feet up onto the bench as well, so it was almost like she was laying down. She leaned her back on the wooden frame and took out her little brown journal. Sometimes she liked to write about her experiences and other times she would create stories of her own. At the moment, she was in the middle of writing a bit of an Alice in Wonderland spinoff, about a little boy who rediscovers Wonderland and is actually trying to help the Queen of Hearts without realising that she's evil. Being stuck in her own fictional world, she began humming a soft tune, one that was almost like a lullaby. She was so oblivious to the real world around her that she didn't realise that a group of 4 fluffy yellow ducklings had come and sat themselves just below her.

Emma just blinked. She still felt like he was lying to her but she didn't want to be rude. She just looked down tears beginning to cloud her vision. There is no way he is being truthful. Her 'fans' and father made that very clear, she was nothing but an ugly attention whore. That's what she was and all she was ever going to be. Emma turned away from him, "Your half-sister is gone, you don't need to act like that to make her like you better. You don't need to lie anymore." Emma said her voice cracking slightly as she hurried towards her first hour of study hall, also known as the period where the music teacher doesn't have a class and lets Emma do whatever she wants with the instruments. As Emma hurried away tears rolled out of her eyes. 'He's probably laughing at me. Laughing about he made me cry. Just like they all do, just like Papa.'

Cheryl took the coffee before muttering a small "Thanks", not completely used to be given something that is not hate. Sh didn't reply to his statement, though she was smirking. Is that a challenge? she asked herself, taking a sip. Challenge accepted then.

Jacob looked up from his phone as Emma rushed past knocking his phone from his hand causing him to spill his coffee all over the ground. "Damn." He muttered as he noticed his phone cover in coffee, ducking into the nearby bathroom he began to clean it up the coffee, his custom Android had survived luckily. He looked up at Emma for a moment as he cleaned up the spill "Umm excuse me miss? Would you mind helping me clean this up?" He had didn't know the girl, she was a new student no doubt, and it wasn't like dealing with Cheryl where you could just play passive and get under her skin.

That's when he noticed she was crying "You alright miss? One of the asshole around here picking on you?" He asked carefully Jacob had always been looking out for others. His sister Severa used to get bullied, then he had shown up, his father had made him take self defense classes so he could handle a fight, no one except Cheryl really bothered his sister anymore more and he wasn't about to hit the reporter or that would be her story of a life time. He stood up and gave her a smile extending his hand. "I can see your first day is not going well, I'm Jacob Knight, resident loner and CEO of Knight Aerodynamics. Sorry if anyone gave you any trouble... My little sister used to get treated like that a lot."

Emma looked at the boy and then hurried off again. She didn't want to deal with anyone right now. She just wanted to pour her heart and soul into a song. Emma soon reached the music room and rushed in, shutting the door behind her. She went over to the piano and sat down, her fingers began to glide over the keys playing a song that she loved and had been her first song released, a cover of Christina Aguilera's Because Of You. When she reached the part where she sang I cannot cry because I know that's weakness in your eyes. I'm forced to fake a smile, a laugh everyday of my life. My heart can't possibly break when it wasn't even whole to start with is when her tears began to fall heavily on the piano as she continued playing. Once she began playing she wouldn't stop til the end.

Well the girl had peaked Jacob's curiosity so he finished cleaning up and walked over to the door of the room she had entered, the music room. Yet as he neared he heard a angelic voice muffled through the door, he had heard a lot of talented singers but she was the best by a wide margin. He listened to the song, slowly he cracked open the door enough to see she was crying while she played, he sighed looking at the girl she seemed a decent enough person just sacred of something. He waited until she had finished before opening the door fully walking in clapping slowly, giving a small genuine smile. "Beautiful, I can't believe a voice can sound that angelic." He said, a couple tears managing to forming in well composed man's eyes.

[Kitty]

"Don't compliment me." Emma muttered. "And please leave. I want to be alone." She added. She was obviously not a people person but she hoped she could be friends with Faeya. Faeya had been the first person to ever talk to her nicely and she was a girl making it easier to trust her. Emma didn't trust boys not with all of her insecurities. "Please leave." she repeated again just staring at the piano keys.

Harper checked his phone for the time, six thirty. Twenty more minutes until school actually started. He guessed that there was about five or ten before more students arrived. He let out a soft sigh before taking a seat near the front of the class and set his bag next to his feet. This was the only time he was going to have alone for the day. He thought about his mother, no doubt her and his father are arguing. One day it got so out of hand that the people residing below them called the cops. Harper was actually great full they did. He could tell his father was on the brink of using violence and that would have turned into a whole other ordeal that he wanted to avoid. If it came down to it Harper will always put his mother's safety first. He wishes that he didn't have to, but the father he once knew is long gone. Harper's mother is all that he has left.

Jacob sighed getting ready to leave the room but he looked at her again, it brought back memories of a girl he knew sighing. "You know, you remind a lot of a girl I knew once. I was with my dad on a business trip and I meet one of friends daughters, she loved music if I recall. She would have loved to meet you and here you play, another time perhaps, so long miss. I hope you will reconsider, I do wish to get know such a talented young women." He walked out of the room shutting the door as he left he hung the testing sign on thee door to assure no one else would disturb her.

Deciding that he should get out of the building for awhile he whistled the song Emma had been playing. He stopped when he spotted a girl laying on park bench, writing. He smiled at the sight then seeing the ducks placed under the bench he laughed a little at the sight it was storybook cute. He yelled "Hello" and waved at the Esther making his way over to the bench by the school lake. He stopped nearby the ducklings looking up at him.
