[OOC] Curse of the Beasts

Positions are currently closed unless stated otherwise here. If you have any questions, please message me. Once again, this is based off of a past roleplay created by someone else. I did not come up with this myself (though there will likely be a lot of edits to this version).

The town of Cloveshore is a fairly secluded and quiet place, except for the mysterious disappearances that occur from time to time. There are some strange stories surrounding the disappearances, many of them trying to tie them to the strange manor that sits up on the hill just outside the small town. Throughout the years, many have been curious about the wealthy family that lives there, but the only thing really known about them is that none of them have ever been seen in the town. Of course, why would they even want to? What could this small and quiet town possibly have to offer these well-off people? Truthfully, this mansion housed a family of six sons and their caretaker. In recent years, the caretaker has passed on, but the sons still live there, each cursed to turn into a beast of a terrifying nature and marked with a rose. These markings grew with the boys, but the petals have recently started to disappear, marking the approaching point where the curse would finally take over. In a panic, and no longer being kept in check by their caretaker, the boys are said to have taken more people until the townsfolk became too worried about the dwindling population to just sit back any more. In a desperate attempt to appease even more desperate monsters, they offered up a group of girls and prayed that it would be enough to keep the beasts from taking anyone else. What fate lies in store for these girls, nobody can say. Just as nobody can say what may lie in store for the beasts.

Rules: Do NOT control other people's characters. Ever. You may call for Val at any time, but he is not an NPC. If you want to do something particularly big plot-wise, please send me a PM first. I will be glad to discuss these things. Keep all romance under PG-13. Anything past the kisses and cuddles MUST be taken to PM. Give some notice if you won't be on for more than 2 days. I will not be responsible for anything you miss otherwise, and it would be rude to leave your love interest hanging. Be polite to them, at least! Respect all players, please. And please keep fighting out of the OOC as much as possible. Take your time with romance. We have a whole story to run. Do NOT kill players or NPCs without consent. You may use the NPCs as you see fit otherwise. Please do not destroy the house too much. I will send Val after you. It will hurt or otherwise infuriate. Feel free to ask questions if you need to. Appearance: At first glance, it is very easy to be deceived that she not is a girl. Her angled cheekbones are far sharper than most girls her age, and her blue eyes betray the sharp intelligence she has under her air of indifference. While her skin is still fair, small traces of tan lines exist on her wrists and below her collar. Her blonde hair, unevenly cut on one side was due to her recent discovery of being female while working under a male name. It is ragged and dirty in places, an indication of her brief incarceration for her crime. Nina's eyes have often been described as like the sea, deep and dark, with hidden depths within them. While most people felt uncomfortable saying thing while she worked in the nobleman's home, they admitted that she was very beautiful and graceful. She feels most comfortable out of dresses, and outside of formal circumstances. Name: Nina McIntyre Nickname: Nico, this was pseudonym that she lived under for most of her life as a boy. Age: 19 Likes: Speaking plainly and openly, being free to do what she wants, and not being judged. Dislikes: Gossipers, liars, and judgemental people. Personality: "You'd never guess that he was a girl." "This girl is no woman, you can tell by it's actions it's a demon! Cast it into the castle as it appears female enough to satisfy their desires!" Needless to say, the town's inhabitants were glad to be rid of the town's disgraceful butler. Nina's personality can easily be described as tomboy-ish, her actions are always deliberate and masculine than feminine. She takes action first, ignoring consequences to get any reward. She is also deeply altruistic, meaning that she'd save the whole town even if it meant her death. She buries emotions deeply, hiding them from sight. Her first instinct when she thinks she's going to cry is actually to run away and hide until she's done crying. While she has strong opinions, she knows when to hold her tongue. When something someone says is problematic to her, she doesn't say anything and simply smiles and nods. This is until the problematic opinion is particularly hurtful to her or dragged on about for a long amount of time, in which she breaks her facade and starts to yell. Her anger is something to be feared, because when she is angered, her first reaction is to hit something, though she usually restrains herself to walls or fragile cups. History: Nina was born into a poor family who knew they could never 'afford' to have a daughter. So instead they began training her to act and become a boy so as to become a butler for a nobleman of a highborn status. After ten years of 'male training' she was 'sold' to a nobleman of the city, praising her boy-ish looks and told her that she would start as a footman and be raised to take over after the latest head butler died. After this point, she had no contact with her family again, and she never wanted to. As she grew, she was lucky to not gain the figure that most females had, nor their... 'assets'. Her disguise only failed when, after five years of being with the nobleman's family, she was discovered by the head butler while bathing. Thankfully, the man was understanding and helped her hide for the last three years of his life. They quickly became joined at the hip, and as he aged she took on more and more of his responsibilities as butler. He became the father she'd always wanted... until her died when she was eighteen. She carried on as she always had, doing her duties faithfully and growing her hair out to place into a long ponytail at her back as her predecessor had done. She learned that soon four girls would be sacrificed to the castle nearby, and she realized what she had to do. She revealed herself as a woman and the town quickly accepted her sacrifice as it meant that 'the proper women' could be spared. Other: Nina is a fantastic cook, maid, and organizer. She is hated by her stepmother, and treated badly by most of her half-sisters. Even though her sisters tended to follow their mother's example, She still helped them whenever they need it. She holds holds a strong hate for both her father; who dragged her kick and screaming from mother's grave and her step mother; who only ever bullies her. She tends to shrug off her step mother's irrating comments and taking her anger out on her. She consider the servants, she grew up with to be her friends. But her best friend Juvelyn, was the one she doted on, and cared for the most out of all her friends. When she had heard her father had put up her dearest friend to be offered to the beasts, She stood up and declared that she volunteered in her Juvelyn's place. She has a heart for music and is so enthralled by sound that it often takes up most, if not all of her day. however when angered Lyra has a fiery and dangerous temper that comes out as a screaming explosion and then shes usually over whatever made her so angry. Lyra is not one to hold her opinion even if it might better her to do so, seeing the world with aesthetic beauty can also be two sided sometimes making Lyra horribly depressive. History: Lyra's father Alexander Renall was a genius musician, who before his death crafted six symphonies and many other songs. When her father died with fever Lyra was only 10. Her mother worked hard and gave her the wealthy life she was accustomed to by any means including financing criminal organizations and using the returns from there. Lyra never found out about her mothers actions and instead continued living how her father had always lived, music being her muse. At the age of thirteen she suffered a horrible accident on a river boat and was barely saved by a young sailor who happened to have been on the boat. Something strange happened to Lyra after that...her once jet black hair turned slowly completely white. Lyra lives with an intense and illogical fear of water often making life hard for her. When the town decided on their sacrifice Lyra's mother was given an ultimatum, give over her daughter who had already cheated death once before or both be arrested and tried for working with the criminal underworld. Having faith that her daughter could survive anything she gave her a dagger and her best black dress that would look perfect with Lyra's unnatural white hair. Abilities: Out of all his brothers Romeo would be consider the meat head of the bunch. He has enhanced strength, he is the strongest of his brothers. When it comes to charming someone into doing what he wants, Romeo is a real romeo. He knows how to get something when and how he wants. He's cunning, he may look like a meat head but he usually thinks before he acts. He also know MMA, he likes to fight with his hands more then weapons. Likes: Girls, Drinking, Smoking, Working Out, Fighting, Girls, Being The Center Of Attention, Being A Beast (when he can control it), Being The Leader Of A Group...did I mention Girls already? With Romeo he is one stubborn guy, it's his way or no way. Out of all his brothers he has the most anger issues, it takes him a while like days to get over something that made him angry. However he does sometimes don something colorful, such as a Hawaiian shirt. Having an astigmatism, he has to wear glasses all the time. Name: Rex Nickname: None Age: 18 Color Rose: Silver Tattoo Location: Left shoulder blade Abilities: Rex is quite a bit smarter than the majority of his brothers, and while he may not be the strongest, he heals somewhat faster than them, even from great injuries. Even in human form his eyes glow in the dark. Other than that, his abilities are somewhat weaker than his brothers. Likes: Privacy, quiet, music of almost any sort, books, most animals, learning, puzzles, riddles Dislikes: When his brothers annoy him, when his privacy is disturbed, rats and mice, insects and arachnids Personality: Rex is usually quiet and content to sit on the sidelines and watch... or better yet, leave the others to fight amongst themselves while he takes advantage of the situation to do what he likes. Overall he finds little amusement in being with others, preferring to be by himself most of the time. He has a love of animals, and has a pet hawk. While he cannot play any instruments, he does sing, something that a few of his brothers have teased him about. However he holds his tongue most of the time, and finds passive-aggressive ways to get back at his brothers (ie- having another beat them up, using their toothbrush to clean the toilet, etc.). When it comes to women, Rex is a hopeless romantic way deep down... but he gets nervous around them, especially attractive women. Her disguise only failed when, after five years of being with the nobleman's family, she was discovered by the head butler while bathing.
Thankfully, the man was understanding and helped her hide for the last three years of his life. They quickly became joined at the hip, and as he aged she took on more and more of his responsibilities as butler. He became the father she'd always wanted... until her died when she was eighteen. She carried on as she always had, doing her duties faithfully and growing her hair out to place into a long ponytail at her back as her predecessor had done.
She learned that soon four girls would be sacrificed to the castle nearby, and she realized what she had to do. She revealed herself as a woman and the town quickly accepted her sacrifice as it meant that 'the proper women' could be spared.
