I couldn't find a good map-making software so i fell back on the trusty old pen and paper. My scanner was not working bu t i took fairly clear pictures. [Map of the City](http://tinypic.com/m/io3jwo/2) **The Inner City** is the home of the Rich and powerful. It houses the Magic Circle: Their Wizards Tower and its'compound and the palace of the Magnificent one. It is built on a raised plateau and is walled all around with a single double layered gate behind which lies the High command of the city watch. **The Cultivators Plateau** lies Parallel to the Inner City Plateau. It is the home of the city's fabled farms. The land is rumored to be so fertile that they harvest almost 10 times a year. it is the center of the city's priesthood. Nobody else may enter save with the consent of the cultivators. There is a single precarious rope bridge that hangs between the two plateau's. **The Temple district** lies in the shadows between these two plateaus and contains the Grand temple of city's Patron Goddess Plenora. The District only sees sunlight for a few minutes each day making it a colder place with an entirley more silent atmosphere than the rest of the city. **The Market District** is where most of the city's commerce takes place and gold changes hands. This is the most prosperous part of the lower city. It is home to the **Grand Market**: Where Silks, Spices and Camels from the Sand Sea are traded for Gems and Precious Metals from Sidon. It is rumored to be the seat of the Daymaster. **The Slums** The Name says it all: Brothels, Gambling Dens and pickpockets abound. It is where the poorest of the city make their home. It is a den of Crime and Squalor. It is also home to the **Blooming Orchid**: Where the Most exclusive courtesans ply their trade. The hilarious result being that the city's Gentry pack themselves through the Slums in their carriages each night to reach there. This makes the Orchid a place where all sorts of people mingle and the unofficial power centre of the city. The Nightmaster and Daymaster both haunt the spot regularly and it is rumored that on a busy night sometimes even the Sycophant might stop for a drink. (Think Rick's cafe from Casablanca). The district is said to be where the Nightmaster has made her seat. The City is walled and has two gates:** The Wizards Gate** and the **Merchants Gate**. Both Gates have Guard Barracks near them. An extra Barracks has been raised for the Company of the Red Hand. .

[Map of the Free Cities](http://tinypic.com/usermedia.php?uo=nvlS1L5AwLNxDFn7%2B8FGgIh4l5k2TGxc) Antioch Controls the the only large scale viable Bridge/ Crossing of the Golden snake with a massive stone fort. I propose that we start our story here after a brief prologue in the City.

For the Prolouge what I was thinking was that the City was Infiltrated with Nazerene Assassins. A rooftop battle was fought when the Assassins were cornered. You guys introduce your characters and their place in the city as this rooftop battle begins. A single Nazerene assassin is captured alive. The Sycophant tortures him and extracts the information that only half the Nazerene Army's strength approaches to cross the river as the other half is marching north after destroying Sidon in the extreme south and will not make it for a few months. Then we shift to Antioch's Army and the Battle to prevent the Nazerene army from crossing the Golden Dragon at the stone fort. Also Give me Feedback: Am I exerting too much control over story? Do you guys want to do this some other way? That sort of thing.

I think your fine. I like the concept of the hidden secrets of the characters, makes it more intriguing than most other roleplays. Though what could prove to be interesting is an assassin is apprehended by each branch of the factions: Mages, Rouges, City Guard etc... and what could transpire is that they were deliberately caught in order to spread chaos throughout the groups to make the siege easier. As I would think a lot of armies in this sort of time period would've done, but then again I'm no military expert. *Shrugs* Couldn't the Nazerene's bypass the river though and maybe take ships stolen or built in Leona? Just asking not meaning to pry, curious is all

After an interrogation it suddenly becomes important to know how they got in, why they got in and what this means for all of us. I'd imagine the Sycophant would have roles for all of us to play

We'd all have key roles yes, but we may not abide by what the Sycophant wants. Cause if you really think about it all any our characters could say screw it and open the gates to the city. Could be the captain getting tired of it, the mercenaries wanting more cash, priests claiming that the gods told them too, or the rouges just wanting to see how interesting it'd get. Because no matter how loyal or how much cash is passed along, everyone has a breaking point sooner or later. A clash of Money vs Religion vs Loyalty, its a mind screw.

> Couldn't the Nazerene's bypass the river though and maybe take ships stolen or built in Leona? Just asking not meaning to pry, curious is all Carrying boats all the way from Leona would be impractical for an army that size. They couldn't land North of the Golden Snake through the sea because the Sea of Storms is too rough for a large fleet. All the forests are south of the Blue Snake near Galilee so they cant make any boats on the spot as there isn't enough wood nearby. So crossing at the ford is the only option to approach the city. > We'd all have key roles yes, but we may not abide by what the Sycophant wants. Also the characters are free to respond in whatever way that they see fit whether they chose to listen to the Sycophant or not and whether to join the expedition to defend the ford or stay within the city. I plan to make it a full on rooftop brawl with each faction apprehending seperate groups of assassins.

My last question for the moment. Where the mercenaries are staying is it an old garrison, a cleared section of city or what?

Also, is this in any way related to the actual city of Antioch IRL? Or is the city just called that?

Great to see a cultivator liaison. Just a few things: the priesthood does not allow anybody else to farm the plateau's just being invited onto the is a great honor. Stealing from the priesthood is death sentence. Apart from that I think that the character is great. He is so very different from the rest of the cast. Hopefully he can play a foil to the more serious characters and lighten the tone of the RP once in a while... Add to the character tab once you've made the changes It also seems like we've filled in all character slots
