Someone who had been watching from the stands stepped down and began to scold Hazel for using too much force. Hayato appreciated his concern, and to be honest watching Hazel get an earful was a little cathartic, but he was more or less okay...Better off than whatever creatures had faced her in the past, he was sure. As the magi helped him up, however, Hayato couldn't help but notice the sword at his side. Magic Classes didn't usually use weapons, did they? "Thanks, but I think I'll be okay with some rest..." he started to say, before someone else walked into the building. From the look of it, "she" was a cleric. Quickly taking in the situation, the healer canceled the other boy's request for infirmary aid and offered "her" own services. "Actually, since you're here, yeah." Hayato said, shaking his head as he confessed his weakness. "No point being macho about it...that was rough. Quicker I'm healed, the sooner I can work on getting stronger." He looked over at Hazel, finally realizing what Professor Gene had meant. Real field experience, huh? "So many you can't remember the number...I guess that's really the difference between us. Only Special Assignments I've ever gone on were non-combat things that I needed for some spending money or extra credit. Up until now, I've just focused on self training." He looked down at his sword hand, which was still trembling from the blow his arm had taken. He clenched it into a fist. "Let's fight again sometime, Hazel. I'll do a lot better then." Then he looked back over at the Magi who had helped him up. "By the way, are you a Magic or a Martial Class? Odd for a magi to carry around a sword, isn't it?" He pointed at the jian-styled weapon.

Ryouta's expression did not change when she compared the two factions within the school, using him as an example. His scowl on her did not deepen. Even when she insinuated that Magi needed to be coddled. He knew there was an unspoken biasness through the way the school worked. **"That's some very warped view of things you've got."** He shook his head. Then he slowly let go of the boy to the cleric, careful not to make his injuries worse. When he was asked about his sword, he simply made a wry smile: **"You've got a lot of breath for someone who had his shoulder broken!"** He chuckled in an attempt to lighten the mood, there was a little evasiveness about it. Then he turned to the Cleric and nodded. **"Kindly take good care of ...Hayato? I have to go report this incident."** Ryouta got up and started walking away towards the exit then the offIces, but not before glancing behind at the girl, "_**I'd rather have him at our side than you.**_"

**"Ok then,"** he said dismissively, shrugging, as he turned to the more injured party. Evidently the girl had some issues with Magi, but that was her problem in the end. While a part of him did want to try her in the arena just to see if he could bring her down a peg, the larger part simply argued it wasn't worth it. If he did win she'd probably hold a massive grudge given him being a Cleric and if he lost... then yeah. **"As for you,"** he murmured softly to Hayato as he closed his eyes to better focus himself. Forgoing the incantation given he was in no rush, Rian simply let his mental focus shape and form the spell. Given the condition of his patient's arm he figured a double dose would be appropriate. The spell's signature green glow intensified as he poured more mana into it before the light began to dim and fade away. Opening his eyes, he brought a hand up to his chest and slowly exhaled. **"Should be all good now. Nice to see someone who doesn't turn down help."** Though he had his own share of Special Assignments, he wasn't being asked the question, so he didn't bother commenting. He did glance at the older student who was walking away, sighing in annoyance at his partng words.** "You think you could just drop it? Hayato here's been fixed up and injuries are inevitable when spars happen. I'd rather not get called in for something as small as this."** He hoped that the older student would see reason because otherwise his first day back would be off to a sour note.

Up on the roof, Soka sat down. He pulled off his backpack and set it down, before beginning to look inside of it. Bringing out a folded, multi-layer paper, he closed the backpack again. Unfolding the map of the school grounds, he began to study the layout. In his left hand, he moved around a silver coin between his fingers.

Hazel frowned as Hayato accepted the Cleric's help. *Hmph. Unbelievable, he's going to let a girl act more macho then him?* "Field experience matters. No matter how long you train nothing compares to what you learn doing real stuff." She hesitated for a moment, then spoke before she could stop herself. "Maybe you can tag along with me some time, see what real combat is like." She regretted it instantly. She didn't want to have someone else drag her behind, but it was too late now. She gave no indication that the offer was a mistake. She smiled, this time her real-but-not-real smile again. Despite everything, there was something about him. She wanted to help Hayato Nishimura. "Also, yeah, we can fight again." The prickly observer turned to leave, but not before dropping another disparaging comment. She huffed as he walked away. She turned to Hayato, "He is a Magi," Hazel didn't only excel on the battlefield, but also in the classroom, "His crest belongs to the Magical Research Society. He also fits the part." She sighed, "Reporting us for sparring. Clearly you came out no worse for the ware. This is part of our training. I don't hate Magi, but some of them really don't get how it works for Knights. Injuries happen all the time!"

_You think you could just drop it? Hayato here's been fixed up and injuries are inevitable when spars happen. I'd rather not get called in for something as small as this._ He looked over his other shoulder and gave a very slight nod, making sure the arrogant girl did not see it. Though there was no reason the Cleric, whose name was unknown to him still, would be called in - If anything, they would simply give credit to him foR quickly responding to a scene! Someone still had to explain the situation if they saw the recording, because fRom where he watched it certainly seemed like an intended lethal attack, Hayato was just fortunate. As a senior, it was his duty to make sure the younger ones were safe. Ryouta reminded himself. But he guessed he could lighten the gravity of things ....this time.

The magi with the sword evaded his question, causing Hayato to tilt his head to one side with a quizzical look. But, saying that he'd have to report them, the other boy headed for the doors. "Whoa wait, I don't think a report's really necess--" Too late. Hayato sighed. The Cleric agreed with him, and as "she" began to cast her spell he tried to relax and let the magic do its job. There was a slight pop as the damaged veins and muscle began to knit themselves back together, and the bruises began to fade underneath his shirt. "Man, that's a lot better!" He smiled in relief and stood straighter, flexing his now fixed arms. "Thanks, uh...sorry, I don't know your name. I'm Hayato, nice to meet you." Hazel had her own bit to say about the boy who had left, but Hayato just shook his head. "Magical Research Society, huh? Maybe the sword's part of something they're working on?" He scratched his chin with a grin. "Anyway, thanks for the offer, Hazel. I'd be grateful if you'd show me the ropes! I'll try not to be a burden."

Sighing softly as he just noticed the barely perceptible tilt of the senior's head, Rian hoped this would be the last time he'd have to deal with this particular situation. Twirling one of his hanging locks of hair, he glanced through the remaining spectators for a moment before looking away. Turning his attention back to the revived patient, the Cleric nodded as he watched Hayato test his arm, happy to see that everything seemed to be well. Clasping both hands in front of him, he gave a slight bow in reply to the greeting before answering softly. **"A pleasure, my name is Rian."** Raising his head he gave the Knight a small smile before sighing quietly under his breath once more. While the girl was correct, given how accessible medical care was on campus, Hayato's injury could have been pretty bad had it not been treated. Still, in the end there was no harm done so there no point in trying to make a fuss. **"Well if that's all I suppose I might see you two around then."** Rian gave them a few moments to respond if they wanted to, but otherwise he was planning to find his dorm and drop things off.

Seeing as he had nothing better to do at the moment John had been watching the match, and what he saw changed his opinions. _Wow, even Fused I doubt I would be able to defeat either of them. Looks like I underestimated the Martial Classes."_ Seeing as both fighters were still in the gym, he rushed down the steps wanting to congratulate them on a great match. "You two were really impressive out there, especially you." That last part was directed to the female Knight, not that he thought her opponent had fought poorly.

Sometimes he really did wonder why he was forced into listening to such utter nonsense... Oh right. Because if he didn't, he'd have someone most likely being sent to find him and drag his ass back into that hall to sit an listen to nearly an hour's worth of sleep-inducing idiocy. He *had* nearly fallen asleep at this little 'speech' last year, and to be honest it hadn't improved this year either. Geez. It was like listening to a really old and rusty robot that did nothing but repeat itself, kami, he'd have to shoot the damn thing to bits if that were really true. Or throw it into a wall, that could work just as well. Idle thoughts passed through the elder's head as he waited for the Dean to finishing droning on and on like a broken record. After another five minutes, it was at last finally over. All the while the lithe young man had retained that rather pleased smiling expression of his, it was like a default setting. Put up in front of others no matter what he may be feeling. Huh. Now wasn't that a nice comparison? Hm. Then again perhaps not the smartest idea he had ever come up with. Not that he was going to broadcast comparing the Dean and how he acted to an old robot, Shin was certainly not that stupid in the least. Stretching as he stood, the silver haired male rolling back his right shoulder to release the building tension there. After all, who wouldn't be all tense and stiff after sitting in one spot for nearly two hours? Heading out a little behind the others, the tall male's view cast itself across the sea of new students. No one that really looked all that interesting to be honest. Such a shame. But he wasn't really here for the fighting, at least, he hadn't been for the past two years. Oh well. Groups of both females and males, as well as mixed groups quickly formed as he headed a little ways down one of the main halls. At the very least over the summer he got to return home and see those he knew, it was tiring but fun... well somewhat. If you considered getting jumped on by children all day long to be fun then you'd have a great time, sure, it was fun at first. But after a few weeks, it was simply exhausting. It felt like he'd come back here for a break, not to start doing boring and dull work all over again. Ugh. Still, unlike many he wasn't running about like a total moron trying to sort their dorm out. His had been sorted hours ago, plus that unlike many his room was never changed. Why? Well for one he wasn't a fan of hauling his stuff around every new year, and secondly because some of the teachers had thought it good that he would come back to 'something familiar'. Shin didn't mind it, but the concept was from his first year and it was a little outdated to say the least. Even so for the rest of the day he had nothing to even do. It really was a bore. Bugging some too early normally meant he would get a mouthful later, so he'd avoid that for now. Instead he might as well go check out some of the freshmen. It was like a ritual every year, first year students flooded to any gym they could to train, show off, spar, talk or even end up in an all own brawl. Almost like a right of passage in some ways. Making his way to said gym at a slow pace, the elder male coming to lean against the door-frame that lead into the room, easily allowing him to see. These kids were always so enthusiastic about everything for about the first week, it was then that everything went to hell and back to a regular routine. Ah well. From a quick observation, it would seem a match had just ended. Others already having gone down to help out and talk, well that certainly didn't take long. A hidden gaze cast itself to the side, the lithe gunner spotting others watching in the stands as well. As if waiting for what would happen next, it was like they were watching TV; so hooked they couldn't look away. Others seemed just as bored as he was, and that was saying something. Even so he wasn't about to start a fight now, so he merely remained where he was. It was far better to gauge the abilities of others here before he did anything himself, that was basic tactics after all.

"Bye, Rian. See you around!" Hayato waved enthusiastically as the healer left. "She" was pretty cute, he thought, as he turned back to the others. Definitely not as clashing a personality as Hazel...although the other Knight wasn't bad herself. Not wanting to go off on that tangent at the moment, though, Hayato instead turned his attention to someone else who'd come down from the stands. They must have drawn a bit of a crowd, huh? He looked up to see who else was around, and lo and behold there was another girl, one with bright blonde hair. He gave a simple nod of acknowledgement when she noticed him looking at her, then turned to see if there was anyone else in the stands. He noticed someone by the doors, too, probably someone who had stopped by to see if anyone else was in the building. The boy looked to be Japanese, like him, though he had silver hair. And the gun on his hip didn't look standard issue; was he an older student? Lots of opportunities to meet people today, from the looks of it. Now that Hayato thought about it, aside from the two or three people sitting immediately next to him in his classes, he'd never really gotten to know many people at the Academy. And for Special Assignments, he would need to make friends that he could party up with, right? He pondered this for a moment, before shrugging and turning back to Hazel. "I'm gonna go ahead on to the dorms, I'll see you later." he said with a wave, before turning and heading out of the gym, hands in his pockets. As he passed the silver haired boy he nodded at him too, with that look that said "'Sup," in the way guys often did without actually speaking. Then he began the trek across campus towards the boys' dorm, stretching his fully healed shoulders before folding his hands behind his head. This year was gonna be very different, for sure.

Part of John just wanted to walk onto Combat Training area to have a match himself. But he resisted the urge not just because he lacked an opponent, but also because if he fought at least one Ex-Beast would get hurt needlessly. Instead he left the gym and decided to spend dome time on the final touches of decorating his dorm room. He eventually arrived at the Rank E dorm building, the dorm that the farthest away from the campus's other facilities. Despite the fact that this was John's third year at AcadeMMO he had so far refused to perform any Special Assignments, and as such he not only was still the lowest rank but had to repeat the second year.

"I see. You better not get owned after she disrespected you like that. Show her you're worth. You can tell me all about it later. I'm going to the dorms. I'll see you", Joe said. Taking a few steps forward before he stopped and turned back. Mouthing: "She's like two feet. This shouldn't be hard, right?", smirking before leaving again. He had heard of her before, she was apparently perfect in everything but had an attitude. This would be much more a challenge than Joe made it out to be. He hoped he would be fine, he wanted to get stronger after all. If he got beaten by a two feet little girl that disrespected him it would probable be soulcrushing. Joe knew he would have completely lost his self esteem. He relaxed against the front wall of the dorm, with a map in his hand taking everything in. He purposely choose to not go with the tour so he'd have to learn everything on his own. He worked up a sweat ten minutes ago, enough to have an actual effect but not enough to leave him aching for the training tomorrow. He already sorted out his room, so that wasn't a problem. Looking up, he'd notice that his previous conversation partner came back. His hands in his pockets walking casually. Joe waved to get his attention. "So, how was the fight? What's her fighting style like?", Joe smirked. "Probable defensive wasn't it?"

Hayato found the boy from before, whose name he still hadn't learned, at the dorms. When the other student saw him he called out and asked about the spar. "So, how was the fight? What's her fighting style like?", he smirked. "Probable defensive wasn't it?" Hayato grimaced and rubbed one of his shoulders. "No, actually, she hits like a freaking truck. Her defenses and evasion skills are probably her weakest traits, but she has enough speed and strength to make up for the lack of technique." He sighed. "But she didn't get that way just by training. She's been on a lot of Special Assignments, out there fighting actual Exbeasts while I've just been in a dojo swinging a shinai around. Tomorrow, I'm going to start changing that." Again he held out his hand to shake with the other boy. "Sorry about getting pulled away before. I still never caught your name."

Nodding slightly at Hayato, Rian readjusted the bags' position before making his way out of the room. Sighing as the automatic doors hissed shut behind him, he brushed his robes, getting rid of some dust near his legs, before turning about to reorient himself. It took a few moments as he tried to figure out where buildings were in relation to his position, but soon enough he was headed off towards the administration building to get things sorted out. It took a while to sort things out once he got there since, to his surprise, he had been assigned a room in the D-Rank dormitory despite his rank being conditional. There were also minor issues like some of the employees finding him "cute" or it hard to believe he was actually "male". Pausing by a window as he stared at the feminine reflection Rian sighed softly, brushing a lock of hair back into place, before continuing on his way. He'd gotten over the fact that he'd be mistaken for a girl rather shortly after he'd arrived at AcadeMMO. If he hadn't and had instead fussed over it, no doubt the "bullies" would have hounded him over it, amongst other things. As things stood though, for the moment at the least, there was little trouble for him on school grounds. His new dormitory didn't really look too different from the building he'd stayed in last year, and Rian took a moment to explore the exterior rather than head right in. It only took him a few minutes and it let him familiarize himself with the exits and entrances to his new home for the year. Heading in afterwards, he looked around at the lobby-like room that greeted him, taking in the details like the tables with couches seated around and notice boards hanging by one wall. At the moment it was fairly empty, though he waved in greeting to the few that glanced towards him.

Joe frowned, that sounded similar to his own fighting style. Though he didn't sacrifice his normal defense for it, he did care a little less about his evasion skills, loving to be all in his opponents face and load strikes with his hands, sneaking in a devastating low kick in as his opponent is focused on his hands. He underestimated her simply because of her looks, his mistake. He really seemed shook up, she must have been something else. Especially since he already heard of her before, that must have meant that she was some kind of legend around here. That was definitely interesting, especially since the guy was praising her so highly. "She fought exbeasts? That is so cool.", he couldn't wait to do that. "Well, my name is Joe. I don't remember catching yours either?", he sort of subtly asked. Pushing his for a handshake. "We should train together tomorrow, you can show me some fancy sword tricks I could use to up my hand striking and I could do the same to you in reverse.", he proposed.

"Hayato, nice to meet ya Joe." The two shook hands, and Hayato nodded at the suggestion of training. "Sure, that sounds good! Maybe we can party up with some others and go on a Special Assignment. I actually met a cute Cleric girl at the gym after Hazel nearly broke my arms." He chuckled with a slight frown, remembering how that last strike of hers could have ended badly. "With a good Cleric and maybe a Binder, Knights and Strikers are at their best; at least, that's what I remember from my Basic Tactics last year. I think they let up to five people go on missions together, unless there's some extenuating circumstance that requires a person to go it alone or to bring a whole group with them."

Soon the people around Hazel began to trickle out of the gym, and eventually she found the immediate group around her dispersed. She really hoped that the upperclassman didn't follow through on his decision to report her. It wouldn't have been exactly the first time that someone complained about her going too far in a sparring match. *They're just not strong. People like him don't understand what it's like in the real world, outside AcadeMMO.* Hazel was more then completely convinced that she was in the right. Hazel began to exit the gym, but a blonde haired girl she didn't know caught her eye. She was in the spectator seats, and Hazel assumed she must have watched her fight. Hazel paid the girl a curt nod as she walked past, exiting the gym. Hazel moved towards the A-Ranked dorms. She entered. The A-Rank dorm, was, as usual, mostly emptied. In a school full of kids it was only natural that the majority held to the bottom side of the rankings. Hazel pondered what an S-Ranked dorm must be like. She wanted to imagine it to be some grandiose marvel of a room. Her thoughts didn't even turn to how it might be lonely, for Hazel was used to being alone. She headed down the hall and headed into her room. It was by and large bare, excluding the bed, and a pair of large trunks lying on it. One trunk included the essentials: Shampoo, conditioner, a large amount of cosmetics, toothbrush, toothpaste, clothing. The other trunk was a molded case that included the _other_ essentials: Her personal collection of swords. She moved the first trunk off its perch onto floor, and opened the second to confirm its contents. She ran down a mental checklist: Raiper, Longsword, and Zweihänder. They were all in their proper places. The weapons were exquisite. Hazel, of course, deserves the best, and with the money she makes from Special Assignments she can get it. She closed the case and set it beside its partner on the ground. She sighed and plopped down onto the bed. She decided to rest, if just for a moment.

People began exiting the gym, and Winnifred realized both participants of the sparring match had each given her of sort of acknowledging look when they passed her, and Winnifred returned each look. As it seemed most of the people who'd gathered were already gone and the activity was dying down, she sighed and stood up from her seat. She gave a last glance to the only people remaining in the gym before turning back to the door. For the time being, she decided, she'd continue her walk for a while before she returned to her dorm. She kept an eye out while she was walking for the two other students who had sparred, as she was a bit curious as to how their match went and thought it might make for an interesting conversation, but she didn't spot them anywhere while she walked. She figured they must have gone back to their dorms or simply not be anywhere nearby.

Joe nodded at his words, he wouldn't know. He hadn't been in that class since this was his first day. So this was wisdom of someone that already heard it. "That sounds cool. We could form a team, recruit a few other people like the classes you just mentioned. We can look for three others.", he proposed. It was good for someone experienced to be at his side. Perhaps they could even recruit that one girl that had beaten him down. They could form a team of three fighters and two supportive, one that healed and the other one that ensured that they could get that hit in, aka the binder.
