Amy shook her head, unable to believe that anyone could like alligator, whether it tasted like chicken or not. Wasn't the skin rough? Didn't the meat taste more...tecture'ry then anything? She didn't know, and she wasn't about to try it. Jackson listened and watched curiously, but his Corndog took all of his attention at times.

Amy fell silent, for now, happy to just listen, keeping an eye on Jackson as he ate his dog, when the conversation shifted to how they were treated. While she wasn't treated as badly as Alver, it still made her uncomfortable to talk about.

She finished of her Corn dog, and used a Wet Wipe to clean her hands, appearing, for a few moments, to pretend she hadn't heard the question. Then she sighed softly, "I tend to ignore what people say about or do to me. My boss is better then most, and I feel that he just thinks about Jackson, and how I need an income to raise him, but he still thinks that...well, that I am no good. That somehow, being beaten and raped, made me evil. That I somehow asked for it" throttle back, Amy. No need to create a whole scene She sighed again, pressing her fingers to her eyes for a minute.

"I hear the names, the nasty comments, the talk that I'm a demon, come to taint the people of this town, to lure young men to committing the heinous act of intercourse before marriage, or lure husbands into committing adultery, that I'm scum, the lowest of the low. I can put up with that. its the way they treat Jackson. He wouldn't hurt a damn fly, and yet they treat him like he's infected, something to keep at arms length, rather then to treat like a kid. Part of me thinks I should just pack up and leave, but this is my home. And I'll be damned if some head up their butts, stuck up, judgmental douches will drive me out of it"

nice work throttling it back, Amy. She couldn't help it. The topic was a sore spot for her, because it led to the fact that her son would be, and was being, treated like this. And she would do anything to prevent that, to stop it. She just didn't know what. She sighed, and swallowed painfully, looking up, but letting her hair fall over her eyes, as Jackson, a warm, comforting weight in her lap, twisted around and hugged her, as if he understood what she had been saying and the meaning behind the words. Her precious, unassuming, caring son. Hers.

"its never resulted in anything physical. so that is something. I find it...horrid that people can be so ignorant of albinism that they can treat you like they do" She said to Alver, "And yet, it doesn't surprise me about this town" she sighed softly.

Aaron listened, wide eyed and horrified at Amy's story. The shock of real life was like a slap to the face, and he could only sit there like a deer in headlights as Amy spoke of what was done to her, and how people treated Jackson because of it. It was sick. Those people were sick, and the very idea of it made him feel sick. Aaron put down his food. He wasn't in the mood for it.

Aaron watched as Jackson, bless his little heart, hugged his mother. He was grateful that at least someone was able to comfort her after she poured her heart out to them, that sort of thing wasn't really his specialty. Still, he wanted to do something, say something, anything that could help. He knew, and he suspected that the rest of the group also knew, that what people really needed in positions like this was a friend.

“Amy...” Aaron said steadily, folding his hands together on the table. “...if you ever need anything, someone to talk to, babysitter, a ride, or just someone to hang out with, give me a call.” In one smooth motion, Aaron pulled a pen and paper out of his back pack and wrote down his cell number, giving it to Amy. “Hell, that goes for the rest of you, too.” Quickly, he scribbled his number for each member of the group and handed them out, hoping that no one would take it the wrong way.

Alver listened as Amy explained her side of the problems, frowning a little. He didn't quite get why such assholes would pick on a mother and a child. Wasn't evwn Her bloody fault for getting knocked up. And they would probably bitch if she, thankfully didn't since Jackson was a sweetie, had a abortion. Apparently these townsfolk were just impossible to please. It was irritating as all hell. Especially when it's just a kid being picked on like Jackson.

Glancing his lavender gaze toward the mother at her words of albinism, he snorted. "Kids are either too ignorant or watch too many horror movies. The adults are either dumdums and superstitious, or just don't like how different I look. Too white, too tall, too skinny, too weirdly colored eyes. Vampy." he shrugged a little with a mild grumble.

"It's fine I suppose. I hardly get picked on as much since no one likes staying up after dark." Alver said before looking to Aaron as he made his response to Amy and gave everyone a piece of paper. The pale boy took his piece and examined it for a moment before blankly looking to the other but smaller male.

"I'm flattered, but you're quite the quick one Mr. Charmer." Alver said in a casual non-chalant tone before simply showing a joking grin and looking at the piece of paper before taking a finishing bite of his food and looking at the dark sky.

"Mhm it's getting a little late." he murmured.

At Aaron's response, Amy just stared, as if unable to comprehend that. There were a few nice people in the town-her boss for one, but Amy knew even he was distant and thought she was 'sinful'. To have this offer, to have this kindness, just given...it overwhelmed her, and tears stung her eyes. She bowed her head, burying her face in her sons hair, as she shook sloghtly with tears.

It didn't take her long to compose herself, and she took the offered paper, "thank you" she said softly, managing to smile at Alver's joke. She kissed the top of jackson's head, and he squirmed, looking up at her.

"My mother...she thinks I should just meekly go about my life, or move to another town. She lied, coming here. She said my father died, leaving her a widower. Truth was, I don't think he was wver apart of the picture. I don't want to live a lie. This town...it amazes me that the people can do anything. It amazed me that they can preach, when their children are little demons who throw food at perfectly nice people all because of appearances." she looked at the others, "I would be glad, to have you all in my life, in my sons life. He needs role models, other then me. Thank you"

She gave Aaron a smile, and looked up at the sky when Alver said about it getting late. She was glad she had made Jackson nap. But she knew soon he would simple crash and need to sleep. Still...surely they could go on one more ride.

"I should get Jackson home soon. But one more ride would be good" she said, jackson clapping his hands "tea cups! Tea cups!" he said eagerly, with all the enthusiasm a child could muster.
