Nirayane smiled wryly to the two before straying off to a chair next to the crackling, warm hearth and sat beside it removing her fur cloak. Nadia, she was always a friendly face, quite possibly the youngest of the guild, a smile that could warm the heart of even an ice giant. It made the elf giggle on the inside, seeing her share her cookies with the newblood, but then came Dmitri swooping in and yanking it from her hand. Nira hissed at the hawk and tapped his head firmly making him release the cookie from his sharp beak. Don't you be stealing from her you cheeky bird!

"Nice to meet you." she said i biting into the bread again. she placed her bow in her lap and began to study the bow, it was expertly crafted. Nira must have had years of practice for it to this good

Cantankerous as ever the hawk screeched at her, but Nira just rolled her eyes again at the cheeky bird, carving a slender chunk of raw venison from the slab and feeding it to him while he was perched on her shoulder. Her mind seemed to trail as she sat alone, gazing softly into the demure glow of the fire bathing her in comfort. She thought back to those days, raiding villages with the Black-Horns, ruling over the most feared bandit tribe in the Empire....and of course...him, the orc war chief...her king...her beloved... She sighed, wrapping her cloak around her once more and leaning back in her chair, a distant frown finding its way to her face. Yet halfheartedly she smiled again and shook her head at Nadia's offer, as sweet as it was.

Nirayane sighed to herself once more while staring at the flames undulating from the fireplace, so entranced in her distant memories that she hardly could have noticed Chloe standing next to her, at least until she inquired about the elf's well-being. Nira glanced up at her, a tinge of lament still in her eyes, yet softly she smiled and shook her head. She motioned to the chair next to her, in a way asking if Chloe would like to sit near the fire.

"thanks. anything i can help with?" She said taking a seat. She looked at nira, Something about her, the way she acted made her warm inside and smile. Something she had not experienced in a long time. Nira was her only real friend at the moment within the guild along with Nadia, She just seemed to feel a connection to her, similar to earlier when she was out hunting. She just felt..happy when she was near

The elven woman looked to Chloe and simply shook her head, though in a considerable manner to show gratitude for her concern. She turned to the fire again tossing a handful of kindling in to keep it stoked. It was always cold in the guild hall anyways, at least to her. How quaint she felt so warm though, and she was sure it wasn't the hearth. The girl, Nira had only met her just this day, but just like that they were friends. Chloe was a brilliant hunter and her skill with a bow, remarkable. But there was...something else that drew the elf towards her besides fascination. But what exactly?

Simbad shook himself out of his stupor. He should really pay more attention to his surroundings, if he did that anywhere else he likely would've been killed or worse expelled. He turned to face the pair that had brought in the meat and moved over to sit by them. Simbad normally wasn't terribly social but for some reason he felt a need to strike up a conversation. "Hello there, heard you two had a little adventure while looking for dinner." he said attempting to break the ice.

In a gentle trance was the elf, somewhat incurred by the presence of Chloe, how quaint it felt. Yet Nirayane broke from it turning towards the male speaking to her and the girl beside her. Simbad, a regal looking fellow with a patch over his right eye, Nirayane wondering how he may have lost it, either in battle or some...unfortunate event in his lifetime. Surprising one of these few thieves haven't lost a limb or something more precious in value. Twas a rough and arduous line of work not without its tribulations, but indeed it was rewarding....if by rewarding meaning seeing the meek and the downtrodden graciously given to. She knew of Simbad for some time, and always he struck the elf as mysterious clouding his past, but then again she wasn't much of an open book either. She nodded to the male and pointed to the burlap sack of venison, the bottom coated in salt to keep them fresh. Of course, it would be up to the hunter to cook. Without a word, Nira excused herself from the two and made her way over to the table where she first laid the pouch full of meat, still bloody and not a single hint of rot in it. She sighed skewering the meat onto a spit and then carrying it over to the fire. In the instant the flames began licking at the slabs of raw deer meat, the intoxicating aroma overtook the stench of the sewer.

Nadia yawned slightly, feeling rather sleepy. It had been a long day and perhaps she should get some rest. "Hotarubi, I'm going to go and rest up now" she said with a lazy smile and stopped her from playing with her hair. She hadn't really have an actual meal yet but she didn't really have an appetite. "Goodnight everyone, Nira, Chloe, Simbad, Hotarubi" she said and walked off towards a couch, dragging a blanket there and lying down on it, closing her eyes.

Nira turned the spit every once in a while, making sure one side wasn't cooked more than the other or burnt, trying to distract herself from the ever pleasant aroma of venison roasted on the fire, mainly because she hadn't eaten in days. With a gentle nod she bid the young Nadia goodnight and gave a smile to Chloe as well. After a few minutes or so, the meat was finished roasting, and carefully Nirayane lifted the slabs from the fire, carving them into slices alongside some potatoes and carrots she roasted as well. Always the hunter's job to cook, but Nira was used to it. Plating the meat and vegetables, she set them about the table and signaled to the others with a whistle that dinner was served. Poor Nadia. A shame she already retired for the evening. The least the elf could do for her young companion was set her a plate aside for when she awoke. Hopefully that red-tailed sneak-thief wouldn't swoop in and grab it or Nira would have to clip his wings, that or let Dmitri get so fat he couldn't fly anymore. Her eyes turned to the hawk, still perched atop the elf's chair, even after she left, his beady yellow eyes gawking at Simbad's eyepatch as he tilted his head and ruffled his wings a little.

Simbad turned to face the new girl and shook her hand with a firm grip as the elf hunter left to cook the meat. "I'm not much of a veteran here either to be honest but a month or two of experience goes a way for you i suppose. I would ask what brings you here but everyone has a story and its their choice to tell." He glanced back at the Elf when she whistled showing that the food was ready. The meat looked wonderful a testament to the hunters experience in cooking. He quickly grabbed a plate and loaded up on the delicious looking food. Simbad nodded his thanks to Nirayane, the Elf had always interested him, it was incredible to see how she got by in such a tough world while being entirely unable to talk. He pondered what he would do without the ability to talk as he set to eating the meal. Simbad frowned at the bird noticing it glancing at his eye-patch, from what he had seen the bird grabbed anything it was interested in and he had no intention of losing his eye-patch to the creature, he decided he would just watch it carefully.

Hearing the whistle Chloe turned her head to see a large table filled with food. She stood up and began to make her way over to the table. the food looked perfect. How was she so good at cooking she though lifting a slice of the meat onto her plate. even the vegetables, which she loathed, looked tasty.

The huntress smiled as she saw the others enjoying her food and cut away a small sliver from the venison on her plate with her knife, popping the morsel into her mouth and savoring the sweet, earthy flavor of nature's bounty. To her, especially seeing everyone at the table eating, drinking and merrymaking, it felt more this band of rebel-rousers known as the Thieves Guild were more akin to a happy, yet dysfunctional family, similar in many aspects to a family of her past life. She could hear them again, the clanking of tankards filled to the brim with mead, the hearty laughter over a few bawdy, raunchy jokes passed around along with a shanty or two sung by haggard drunks passionately....and the voice, the gruff yet gentle song of Torvald Stone-Hide. The guild was her home now, yet her heart ached for the days of a brigand. As she drank of her ale and took another bite of venison into her jaws, she happened to notice that nosy hawk of hers eyeing Simbad's eyepatch, only expecting for the cheeky bird to take flight again with it in his talons. Damn thing, he was always grabbing whatever, maybe for a jest or just natural curiosity. There was one time Hotarubi returned with an amulet she pilfered off a merchant, a very beautiful bauble with a lovely, center-cut diamond encased in purest silver, but then Dmitri caught shine of it and away he was with the amulet in his beak, unfortunately dropping it in those filthy sewer waters. It took Nira all night just to find the thing, and when she did, she and the amulet reeked with filth. They would have been lucky to get a few coins for it at the fence. To dissuade the red-tail from any mischief, she glared over to Dmitri and shook her head. He got the message clearly and instead of making off with Simbad's patch, the bird instead flew over to the couch little Nadia was sleeping on and landed, covering his head with his wings and going to sleep himself. Nirayane then turned to Chloe, giggling on the inside. She was a woman, mature indeed, yet she acted as if a child pushing her vegetables aside.

"Nira, where did you learn to cook like this. its really good." she asked the elf curious to what her secret was. the food was a lot different to what she had been used to. for starters it was warm and you could actually taste the meat

Vallyn kept silent when the guild began to pile up, tossing eleven of the twelve coin purses onto the table. He left the room, leaving the sewers, wrapping his cloak tightly about him with the cowl pulled low. The shadows of his hood hid most of his face, giving him a somewhat intimidating presence. It didn't take him long to reach his destination, either, only a couple of blocks of wandering to the local tavern. He walked in and closed the door, not paying any mind to the action nor to the curious glares of its hardened folk. Eventually, there was an eruption of welcome. "Vallyn! 'Bout time you came!" The patrons cried, save for the new, burly looking man. Vallyn raised a hand, solemnly walking towards the bar. He dropped three gold piece onto the bar. "Mead and mutton. This should be enough to pay whatever is put on my tab, plus tip." The young man told the barkeep, who, upon looking at the money, nodded with a big smile on her plump face. The woman went about, bringing him the mead and running to the kitchen to prepare his meal.

She was about to answer Chloe, but was caught off guard by Vallyn just upping and leaving the guild hall. Where was he off to? And without a single adieu given to his mates? Although, Vallyn never seemed to care much at all for camaraderie among them, always so cynical and staunch. So further Nirayane paid no mind and answered Chloe's question, writing down words on a scrap of parchment, You learn alot when you had to cook for a band of rowdy men and a hungry orc. She smirked and resumed eating.
